Plasticman is definition of "I do whatever I want and no one can stop me" His goofy behavior is a perfect portrayal of a Cartoon character who is never take everything seriously
the literal reason he doesn't just insta win pretty much every scenario he's in is his personality, he can and will get things done, but he prefers to be a nuisance and joke around rather than try his hardest.
That Panel with Plastic Man and Wonderwoman talking about Superman's "Chair" will never not be hilarious to me. I also like how it spawned a dumb meme of just Plastic Man pointing with a huge ass hand.

Didn’t Batman once make a statement to the Justice League that all of them are lucky that Plastic Man uses his powers jokingly because he technically has the power to kill every single one of them if he wanted to?
One of the main reasons I absolutely adore plastic man is simply because he is living proof that Bat-addicts are just "power fantasy junkies" that are all vicariously living through Batman, and so when you say Batman can't beat a villain, you're saying that you think they're weak. I figured it out, that's why they get so mad all the time about it. But then also pretend to play it off as though they don't care while also caring so goddamn much.

Nothing can really stop him at all, freezing him then shattering him is temporary, same for melting him, he always comes back and thats the terrifying part abt him if he ever does turn evil.

I love how Flash is fast enough to stop Superman. Not because Plas would die, but because if a fight broke only some of them would survive from fighting plastic man. Maybe only flash, superman, and plastic man.

@@xhibitiongaming3880 Dude can literally become anything, with functionality, as long as he can imagine it, chucking him into space is going to do fuck all because he doesn't need air to live for one, and for two he can just turn into something that can get him back and come right back again. Time doesn't kill him either as he doesn't age, he can heal from basically any wound and can regenerate from any piece of himself, his "weakness" to cold is more of a temporary measure as if you shatter him he still doesn't die it will just take him a while to put himself back together. There's a reason he's considered one of the most dangerous members of the justice league.
So honestly, I think they have explored Plastic man and .. there seems to be no way to kill him. For example in the JLA story Arc "Obsidian Age", Plastic Man was blasted into crumbs in Ancient Atlantis. And he existed for over 3000 years as little more than crumbs on the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean until they pulled him back together. Oh he was temporarily mad (being crumbs that long seems to have a bad impact) but he got better quickly and was back to being a hero asap. He's invulnerable as far as we can tell, regenerates, seemingly can live for ever. A punch from Superman would do nothing but embarrass him. Maybe if you flung him into the sun. But my fear is his atoms will not break down within those temperatures and all he'll do is recombine and form into something even more powerful. Plastic Phoenix Force?
He put a piece of himself back together that had been hit with a ray that supposedly breaks stuff down in to "subatomic particles". I forget the comic. Or was it a DC shorts. It's been too long man. His arm went all twirls and he shook it up and down and commented that that was weird hut he put it back together.
@@Coconutszz Hmm unless they get everything with the magic he simply regenerates (slowly over time). But they could contain him within a magic cell. They've never explored the magic piece really well. They have shown telepathy and mind control do not work as his mind is not like others anymore. But certainly magic could have an impact or at a minimum contain him into a lamp until it's rubbed the right way (LOL). Strangely enough the black hole again would be a prison. It's questionable as to if the gravity could crush down his essence enough to non-existence but he WOULD lack the strength to escape very high gravity. Heck dump him on Jupiter that might at least contain him.
Flash & Plastic Man as a dedicated team would be almost infinitely effective. They both have absolute control of their bodies (in different ways), & could hard counter/combo with basically all of their moves.
for anyone that doesn't know, plastic man could literally turn himself into a nuke stronger than the Tsar Bomba, explode, and he could still survive without even having a scratch

Joke characters are either the weakest character that shows up in one series then never again, or hardcore god killers with few weaknesses and no way to permanently kill them that become mainstays for the entire continuity.

Some years back I remember reading something about Plastic Man being as goofy as he is because his brain simply doesn't stay the same shape all the time. When he restructures his brain the synapses get restructured and dorm new synaptic paths, making him forget things and remember things he forgot a long time ago. It also changes his personality. And he is fully aware of it happening. This makes it hard to stay with long term plans and is quite frankly so scary that he's treats it all like a bad joke. I remember it being an interesting read, and quite thought provoking. But I'm not sure it has anything to do with the what's canon in any of the reboots of the DCU.
@@jonathan45564 he’s a character in the Lord of the Rings book that just kinda shows up out of nowhere, acts all goofy and comical yet is somehow immune to the ring and possibly the most powerful character in the story. But he’d rather just hang out with his hot blonde wife in the woods and sing songs.
This seems like it was really thought out and a lot of attention went into this story. Im gunna try and track it down and try to read it. I always felt plastic man had alot more going for him but just wasnt given the serious chance he needed to shine to show his real stuff.
@@afazekas81 It's probably worth noting that that was still PIS. Flash had to forget about his super speed, his super reaction time, and his ability to vibrate through solid matter in order to allow that attack to work. That's pretty common with Flash, to be fair. If he didn't forget his powers constantly, mostly every comic where he's there to solve a problem would begin and end in the same single panel.

I feel like Trigon in Dark side are quite literally the two people you could have listed that are capable of doing it actually. Mostly just because they're two people that are listed as being fully capable of actual annihilation, the only, and I mean by definition actually only thing that could ever beat plastic Man is if he is literally unmade. Not destroyed. Not rendered down to the absolute molecular level. I mean outright undone so much so that he no longer exists. As long as there is even the slightest modicum of an aspect of him, plastic man will never die.

The flash should literally be the most powerful hero in the verse but the same writers who have him dodge nanosecond attacks also want him to get hit by Batman
He lets Batman hit him because if he didn't Batman would come up with an actual plan that can take him down properly. The last plan was a bullet that causes seizures at light speed. I'd let that guy punch me if he's making personal seizure hells in convenient bullet form.
Plastic Man is DC's answer for the Impossible Man (first appearing in Fantastic Four comics) at Marvel. Essentially, both of them have the right kind of power-set to get away with good imitation of "'Toon Force." Pretty close to a literal example of "Rubber Physics."

Agamemnon Contingency, file code name: *Polymer* Plastic Man, a unique opponent. Every molecule of his body is under his command, and he can make himself into anything he imagines. We're lucky that he's on our side, and that he's more concerned with being _Comic Relief_ than anything else. But should he turn, freezing him with liquid nitrogen or some other agent is the best emergency response I've been able to identify. After that, it's just a question of _storage._
In literally all the media I’ve watched with Plastic Man in it, he’s only ever seen as a joke, so it was impossible for me to see just how powerful he really was. But now, I think what the world really needs is a Plastic Man movie. Though, truth be told, he was always my favorite on Batman: the Brave and the Bold
