I replace those things with a straight piece of galvanized pipe, coupler and Male plug.

I have the plastic oil drain on my 19 hp vertical Briggs. You are correct, it does seep oil. Will do this at my next oil change. Thanks for all the info! Recently found your channel and I really enjoy watching. Again, thank you for the videos and your no nonsense presentation.

I would put a pipe plug in the end of the ball valve as well would keep the ball valve clean and if it did let by oil would not leak out good video keep them coming 👍

I have a Hustler Raptor with Kawasaki Engine and i bought a Kawasaki Brand 12" braided hose with Brass Cap on the end so it screws directly into the engine and then all you have to do is unscrew the cap at the end of the hose and hang it down and dump it straight in the bucket. My mower had that piece of crap plastic valve also and that thing was ridiculous... the valve opener was for a flat head screwdriver and it's stripped that part out so then I had to try to use vice grips to grab ahold of it and once I got it loose the oil would pour all over the deck anyhow so that was a blessing to find that part

Awesome video. I'm one of those weirdos who is fed up with these companies and likes to put in as strong a magnetic drain plug I can find in an effort to give these companies the least amount of my money as possible for as long as possible.

I made the mistake of driving my tractor around the house to do my spring tune up only to seize up the engine on my Husqvarna. I’m so pissed now! I’ll never use another one.

I agree. I don't believe I've come across any that haven't leaked. Even on new mowers. I always just cap them off with a pipe plug. I need to stock up on those ball valves! Cheers Buddy! Zip~

Those plastic quick drains suck. I’ve seen one so bad that if you took that dust cap off oil would continuously drip out. And depending on the engine, they usually make a mess. I bought a nice clear drain tube that I like to use for those, but it is still a pain nonetheless. I’ve seen those on many engines, not just Kohler, so I think the drain plug is usually up to the manufacturer of the equipment. It is most common on MTD and AYP, but I see them on everything.

Ball valve and back that up with a plug. Depending on the application I extend everything out so the damn thing will drain without making a mess.

Use a 3" nipple then the Valve, then a hose barb. 8" of hose bent Upwards and ziptied.

Yup. Those things are HORRIBLE. I was stupid enough to buy one of these for my TB30, and it was apparent that it was leaking within 2-3 mows. I went with the Drainzit hose, and have never looked back. But, whatever you do....... DO NOT waste your money on these yellow pieces of CRAP!!!

Wow. $26 bucks. Just run down to a big box store and but a close nipple and ball valve for $6. Its a little bigger big will fit most places. You can remove the handle or cut the handle shorter. I have put the handle in a vise and bent it 90 degrees then shorten it.

Leaking isn't the worst case scenario...I've seen one be opened by a small branch snagging it...oil dumped, engine ruined.

So, you skate around the link and no post of that exact valve link going about -3- years now? Can only assume like most do that part was sucked up at a discount by hog repair people. Resold to a stand by at over. Where is the link? I need only 1. I will find it in time I guess because you never one time took the time to reply to any vid reply I made over years. ?
