The girl Stephanie who is the burn victim was caught in a horrible volcanic eruption and lost her sister and dad to it. She is a try survivor and her bravery is so honourable
I work at a no kill shelter and I can’t tell you how hard it can be to impress upon someone that “senior” cat ( or dogs ) have value. Thanks for realizing they still need love and the time they do have in a loving home is even more appreciated from them.
Our last cat was only 5 years old before we had him put down due to septis. I didn't completely treat him right (he tried to play with me by clawing and biting and I didn't tolerate it at all nor try to get him to stop outside of a scented collar), and feel like I should 'try again' with a different, new cat. I've been wanting another cat for months.
You reaction to the feeding tube girl was just amazing, your emotion and care for her is a sign of an amazing human and doctor. Being a dad also, i get it.
My daughter had a feeding tube as a newborn and to take her home I had to learn how to insert it. Luckily she had it for a couple of weeks after being released from the hospital and it was removed. It breaks my heart seeing this young woman.
She lost her dad and sister on a cruise ship because a volcano that erupted and killed them she was burn over her whole body her mom and her are sueing the cruise ship company they said it was safe. Please go support jer. ❤️
Even though I know this won’t be seen, thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr. Youn. As an animal rescuer it warms my heart to see senior dogs who normally wouldn’t be adopted, going to great people. I’ve had at least one senior dog come through my rescue who had an enlarged lung and wasn’t getting adopted. My family ended up taking her in as a sanctuary dog and we had her until she died.
My doctor recommend my to get a breast reduction and my boyfriend fought with me. He was saying you won't like it. You'll hate yourself. If you have surgery then you're fake. I stood up to him and said my it's my body I do what I want to do with it. After that he started calling horrible names. So I got my surgery done and he cheated on me because if it. So I dumped him.
You went and lost that extra 200 lb, so glad u didnt listen to him even though he cheated on u that toxic b****was better out of ur life. He probs misses u cause he missed out on an amazing person. HAVE AN EXCELLENT DAY AND LIFE AND I HOPE U FIND SOMEONE WHO APPRCIATES U.
Oh wow, what an absolute dick. Good thing hes gone now. Go out there, enjoy your new body and find someone who will appreciate you for your personality, and not your cup size
The last video really melted my heart. Dr. Youn isn't just a talented doctor, he's also such an angel of a person. The dogs he has rescued, I bet if they could talk they would never stop thanking him for that. I'm so happy that you exist , Dr Youn. You're one of the very few people who I believe are real angels on earth. Thank you so much for being such a blessing on earth. May good things always come on your way. You're an angel❤️
The burn victim showed up on my FYP page a week ago... she is absolutely beautiful, but her life is SO impacted by those burn scars... I really feel for her
My one arm set on fire and I got a tiny burn which happened to get infected. It was horrible. And awful pain and this was after I had been hit by a car walking across the street
@@EmilySpiritExT maybe the burns are too severe to be shown to everyone. Edit: also, it might prevent the burns from being exposed to potential infectious germs.
@@VVsupremacy Thanks! I didn’t think about that she needed a protective suit from germs and such. I think I imagined how warm it must be to wear that and that for more harmless wounds they need a bit of oxygen to get to them for healing. I still hope she’s doing well and someday she might not need that full body suit for her injuries.
I don't know why they need to starve them. Every time I swim in a creek those little fish come up and nibble on my legs. These fish would probably do it without the starvation
Im still stuck on the bullet proof breast implants. That fluid armor is some batman theoretical stuff. This maybe the answer we need to get light weight batman armor like in arkham knight game
I was stung when I went to Myrtle Beach in SC. The only thing that brought me relief was staying in the water. Once I left the water the pain almost made it impossible to walk. I didn't know what to do and my friends were too busy laughing to help so I just poured sea water on it for a couple of minutes and left the rest to the sky daddy😂 I had some scarring but luckily it wasn't anything significant and the pain was gone the next day lol
@@acelovesdiyschristopher7023 No, marine stings pretty much share first aid techniques. The vinegar inactivates any nematocysts that may still have the potential to sting. Don't, try to brush any tentacles. Then use warm/hot water/compresses at the site. The higher temperature causes proteins in the venom to denature. Denatured proteins no longer function as they're supposed to.
I really really appreciate that you support people who are being pressured by others to get plastic surgery. ☺️ Sometimes we need people to help us stand up for ourselves. And you're in an excellent position to remind people that it's *their* body and therefore *their decision* alone whether or not they want to change anything about it.
I’m so glad to see I’m not the only dog person who adopts older dogs. I most recently adopted a 9 year old Boston Terrier and the vet told me she wouldn’t live more than a year, so I shouldn’t bother. That was 6 years ago, and she ended up being by far the best pup I’ve ever had. So sweet and loving, and never even so much as growled at my kids. In fact, she was perfectly content being their pillow most of the time. She passed away a few months ago, but her last 6 years definitely made up for the first 9 years where she was stuck in a cramped cat carrier and neglected most of her life. Thank you for spreading the adoption message, and for everyone else, don’t pass on an adoption just because they’ve got a few years on them. Older dogs need a good home, especially if the first half of their life was full of suffering.
Awwww. Bless you. My pit lab mix has kidney failure and is now 14, but seems to be doing well for now. I had a 95 pound Doberman who lived to be 16. Small dogs generally live longer than larger ones, so I am glad you took her.
@@tonibauer2949 She was my baby. I’ve never in my life had a sweeter and more loving dog than her. It’s been almost 9 months since she passed, and I’m still getting used to not hearing her snoring beside me when I go to bed. I try to only adopt older dogs when I look for one, if only to give them a good home for the last few years of their lives. I hope your pups feel better and you get more time with them.
that's so lovely! that really warmed my heart and I think it's such an amazing thing to adopt an older dog, I'd love to do that when I move out from home one day
She already showed that she wasn’t the brightest bulb in the pack when she actually used PAM to promote a suntan, so it wasn’t very surprising when she couldn’t read & pronounce “original’ correctly!😆
How is no one talking about how Dr. Youn was looking at the burnt survivor’s routine/ video so lovingly 🥺🥺 I hope she will feel better she’s so so brave
She's one of the Survivors of the volcanic eruption on that island off new Zealand last December. She's 24, and a hell of a survivor. Her dad and sister died from injuries from the volcano. 60 mins Australia have a programme on it on RU-vid.
My dog is 10 now and he’s really starting to slow down. Love him with everything in my being and can’t imagine life without him. He’s a larger breed and I know he doesn’t have long left. Just gotta live every day with him to the fullest.
Oh, Wow! I saw this 2 minutes ago & it took me that long to stop laughing so I could reply! - The visual image of those people, heads down, asses up, is freaking Me out; if I was there, I'd be scarred for life!
I love the fact that even if he is a plastic surgeon, he is not encouraging people to undergo plastic surgery. Instead, he is promoting self love and acceptance of our body 🥺❤
Lol I'm glad your son looked up the vinegar trick for jellyfish stings. Pee can actually make jellyfish stings worse. Use vinegar and try to remove the stingers with tweezers. The vinegar stops the little stingers from activating more so you can remove them safely
Sounds like advice from a landlover. Do you know why pee works a little bit? Sounds like you dont. Also, there is no way tweezers works for jellyfish or man o war stings.
Dr Youn I love your common sense you’re funny sense and just your overall compassion not just for humans but for those elderly dogs. Every time I see something that you’ve put on I get tears in my eyes and I just say thank you for this man who is helping these little beans
@yellowleaf I was about to say something similar. In the 80s, we'd spread cooking oil on our skin, and lemon juice and peroxide on our hair and go lie out. SMH at my younger self.
Absolutely love your reaction to the girl with the feeding tube. I'm also a feeding tube user, though mine goes through my abdominal wall straight to my small intestine, bypassing my stomach entirely (Jejunostomy tube). Love seeing public figures spreading awareness!!
Dislikes before the premiere? But of course, because the mother of idiots is always pregnant! hahaha Yes, we have this self explanatory saying in my country... Dr Youn is adorable, and he's doing a tremendous work by trying to teach us the DO's and DON'Ts in cosmetics (and much more) He is charismatic and an extremly positive presence - he lightens up my day every time I watch him!
@@ladievengeance1577 I don't believe it's Dr. Youn himself that they don't like. I believe it's the videos that he's sharing that they don't like and aren't interested in. I know because I dislike some videos when the uploader shares other people's videos, but I still like the uploader who's sharing them. So, please, don't take it personally and judge others for disliking some of Dr. Youn's videos when you don't know their reasoning behind it. Youn would like to have people like the videos he shows us, not like the video for himself. It's this way with ALL UPLOADERS' VIDEOS. So, no, people are NOT BITTER when disliking a video. We all have the RIGHT to dislike and like any videos we choose to give in any videos we choose to watch.
@@marciturner4980 I don't think that's a valid reason. You could always opt to ignore the video, or not watch it at all. Plus, on this one, the video hasn't even premiered yet but it was already garnering dislikes? I think there's like an 80% chance those dislikes were intended. . Also, we don't need to 'take it personally' but what do you mean by "don't judge others for disliking... when you don't know the reasoning behind it"? What reasons? You just said it yourself that you dislike some videos when the uploader shares other people's videos. To put in perspective, in such a scenario, Dr. Youn would fall under the category of "other people." And people who disliked it were following another person (uploader who's sharing them) but not Dr. Youn's channel and so they'll naturally dislike videos not directly related to the channel they're subscribed to. . It's not personal, of course. But I think we can fairly judge. I mean, what else could be the reason for dislikes? 'Accidentally' the dislike button? Like, do people who even have RU-vid accounts not know how to un-dislike a video? They clearly hate it. And I always will have questions about people who hate on informative, interesting videos like this one.

I love how he talks about his dogs at the end. My family has mostly, if not all, rescue dogs. (We have three, and our oldest was adopted when I was very young, so I can’t remember if she was a rescue or not) I honestly think that adopting dogs from kill shelters is the best thing that anyone can do. It means that you are giving a dog another chance at having a good life, and it’s amazing.
The nice thing about dogs is, they don’t worry about their past. They don’t worry about the future. If that dog is happy now, in his heart, that’s all there is. Good on ya Dr. Youn.
Not entirely, dogs can suffer from PTSD and separation anxiety as a result of their past, even if their current owner is awesome and those dogs need a lot of working with to recover from those issues. Dogs are wonderful companions and family members when treated right, but, like humans, they can suffer from the things that happened in their past and they might need help. Don't devalue their stories for some inspirational bs.
@@randomperson1934 That's good ^^ you can, with a lot of love, patience and training, help a dog to recover from separation anxiety, but you should only do that with a dog trainer's help, as separation anxiety is a major cause of stress for dogs and trying to train it away can exacerbate their condition. But I am sure you're doing the best for your dog's health, comfort and wellbeing and you are awesome for taking care of a being that needs a lot of love, care and attention.

The girl with the feeding tube is doing really important work. My girlfriend suffers fromgastropoeresis and poor absorption and we don’t really know why. I personally suspect EDS because of other problems she has- hypermobility, tachycardia and low blood pressure, etc- but she currently has no official diagnosis due to her not having health insurance. She will probably need a feeding tube at some point in the future and she’s really dreading it because she’s already lost so much freedom and autonomy from being ill that losing the ability to eat and taste food is just another nail in the coffin. Chronic illness is awful, so for people who may have a new diagnosis that is scary, or who know they’ll need certain things in the future as their condition progresses, to see somebody being positive about their diagnosis and the treatment they have to go through can be really comforting.
Hey! I just wanted to let you know how much I appreciate you're supporting your girlfriend with her issues. I've been tube fed to my intestines for 7+ years and now due to full intestinal faliure, I can only be fed via IV to my heart. I adopted one of cats off the street he was severely malnourished and would get yelled at by people. My other cat I adopted after she was found as a 1 week old with her brother and another older cat that was not her mother. She had cat herpes, eye problems, pneumonia, and flees. Please rescue!!
All 24 of my cats are rescued. I couldn't rehome them well. All the people interested didnt pass vetting. The one who did returned the cat 7 months later. We just built an outdoor encaged section for our cats and they are so happy.
Sounds similar to mine. I found an abandoned kitten in my front yard, I brought it in over night and was going to ask if anyone was missing their cat the next morning. I thought someone must have abandoned it (people around me said they had seen other cats that look similar). It was so small the shelter wouldn't have taken it. The others will roam throughout the neighborhood. I see one or two of them now and then, I'm not sure how many may have been taken to a shelter or taken in. I liked and respected Dr. Youn for his skill, educational outreach and entertaining content; I love him for his dedication to not only animal rescue but for being a forever family to seniors who would have died alone. As a longtime animal rescue volunteer (animals with medical and behavioral issues) and 4 time foster failure for my allegedly “un-adoptable” older cats and dogs, I know it’s a calling, a true labor of love.
God bless you for adopting the dogs that don't get adopted much. I love my dogs as much as I love my family and I love you too for having dogs! I could never, ever be without a dog.
All my dogs are rescues. I specialize in older dogs or dogs with issues (like health or behavioral). I lost one of them last year to cancer, but in the year I had her, she learned how to bark and got so much love. I eventually want to start vlogging my babies for the world to see. Rescue dogs are the greatest
Hey, commenting in case you announce you start vlogging, so I get a notification :) I’d love to adopt rescues once I’m done with university and everything is more settled, so I’d love to learn from you!
We rescued an abused 10 year old dog last christmas, just off a facebook post saying a dog was hiding in their doorstep through the massive Fabien storm. Has no front teeth (broken on purpose, like with a kick or runover by a car), had massive scars and fresh wounds on his neck (like a wire around his neck, probably chained his whole life) and a lot of healthy issues related with allergies (no fur, mange like skin, permanent ear infections, ears almost falling off from wounds). He is also almost blind (cataracts), we believe he is partially deaf as well. He weighed just under 15Kg, was skin and bones; two months later he was at 26Kg, almost 2Kg above his ideal (taking corticosteroids permanently). He didn't know how to sit. Not the command: he literally didn't sit. We think he didn't have enough chain to stand or sit, so he just laid down. We got him to sit at the first time we tried; we pushed his back into sitting while giving treats, he immediately started sitting everywhere after that! He also didn't know how to bark: he howled the first two nights, non stop, and then no sounds for months. The first time he barked at the door bell was a party! He heaves and barks now when I say my GFs name: "go fetch Leila", and he heaves, and growls, and barks and howls, all happy, looking for his owner. I'm the cat person of the family (the cat already belonged to my GF before we met, but he is my soulmate 🥰). My life would be easier without a dog, and I think I would be happier too if we had rescued another cat instead. But I know he is happy, my GF is happy, so I work everyday on behaviour with him (food obsessive and aggressive), and it is gratifying to save a life from abuse and sufferinf. I also like to train the cat into sitting, jumping and giving hi5. The dog is way easier 😂

they’re definitely the worst type of injury it’s incredibly painful it takes a long time to heal there are a lot of complications and you have scars left forever
They’re an utter nightmare. (Kindly bear with me a moment) I have full body CRPS type II which is famous for being the most painful disease they know about. It’s on par with end stage terminal bone cancer. Even morphine doesn’t touch it. But I’ll happily keep my CRPS if the other option was that kind of serious burns. She’s damn lucky to be alive and she’ll follow that routine for a solid 18 months. After that the routine eases a bit but it never truly goes away. Plus she’ll likely need more surgeries down the line, once the scars settle and they know what will improve and what won’t. Try looking up documentaries about burn wards. There’s a good one here on RU-vid. It’s mind boggling.
Yep can confirm a friend of mine walked on hot ashes when she was 2, didn't walk again until she was 4, and still occasionally needs Lazer treatments or skin grafts. She's about 20 now.

Our latest adoption was a 9 month old kitten, but the poor baby had been thru the wars - she has corneal scarring in one eye, and they removed all of her adult teeth due to severe stomatitis. The shelter was very careful about placement, and we were over the moon to be selected as her furrever home. But man, she's my first kitten in 17 years, and I'm remembering why I normally adopt older cats! 😂
Ah ha ha!!! I fostered deaf sister kittens back in Jan. Within 3 months, I was collapsing from exhaustion. Being older, I interviewed people all day for a week and found the perfect family. Dr. Youn, for a long time, I've thought you were one of the nicest people on RU-vid. But I just learned about your love for rescue dogs today; it doesn't surprise me. I, too, love rescue animals. My latest rescue dog was a beautiful black greyhound who I renamed Grace. The name was perfect for her. She gave me so much love, comfort, joy and company. When I went to the greyhound rescue centre, I had already decided I'd rescue a black greyhound because they are called trashbags due to their colour and are seldom rehomed. Many black greyhounds don't even reach the rehoming centres and are heartlessly thrown out of moving vehicles on busy motorways. I join you in encouraging the adoption of rescue pets - nobody needs to buy a pet from a breeder or pet shop. Gemm.
