I quit taking collagen peptides for 2 months after using it for 3 years. My joints began to ache, my hair was shedding frequently and my gut felt it. I starting adding it back to my coffee and all of that went away. I am a believer!
I got an email to order this manual or book but it said free. But when it said also using the skincare i knew i couldnt click the link because i just lost my home and belongings again to my ex(addict) . Im stuck eating bread daily again.

1. Collagen 2. Cut sugar 3. Red light therapy 4. Bakuchiol as an alternative to retinol 5. Intermittent fasting - 16 hours, but coffee/water/tea is fine until you eat
@@bunnybubs757 idk, I haven't started on that yet, but looking forward to it! Do you like it? He just mentioned that bakuchiol is a good alternative to retinol for those with sensitive skin, people new to actives, or dry skin. Basically a safe entry to the world of actives i guess lol.
A possible tip: I've done intermittent fasting (16 hours between 7pm and 11am) for the past 4 years. Not only has it helped me shed post-natal weight (I didn't do ot while pregnant), but I've never been leaner. I've also had several compliments on the last few years that I seem "young" and people are suprised to learn I'm 35. A new development occured when I shifted my fasting window a few nights a week from 2pm until 7am. It was a random experiment and I haven't even done it ever night of the week. Not only have I lost additional weight I didn't know I could lose, but my skin appears less tired, less often. I never thought I could do such a fast (I was so used to eating dinner). But this slight change has been so rewarding I now fast like this several nights a week. Some others may find a similar benefit.
I admire people like you that can do that. Anything past 10 to 12 hours of not eating something, I get massive headaches due to low blood sugar v. I just try to eat as healthy as I can.
My body does not work with fasting. It goes immediately into starvation mode and holds onto everything it gets. I have to eat properly to keep my body optimized. No calorie deficates and no skipping meals.
Mine too - the gastritis returns after each 1mo of such eating mode. And after each its return, doctors told me that I need to have a snack and/or drink water at least each 2h 😢
Cutting out sugar and unhealthy foods from my diet is the hardest part but I somehow manage it. The only thing that bothers me is my sleep. I have bad insomnia and no clue how to fix it. I have tried several things and nothing works. I get so depressed if I go by a week without proper sleep andi know how much sleep means to my overall health and skin.. 😢
There are lots of ways to improve sleep. I assume you’ve tried many of them? Room temp 68degrees, weighted blanket, black out curtains, blue light blockers in evening, aromatherapy, meditation, etc. ❤
Have you had a sleep study? I struggled with insomnia for years. Turns out Sleep Apnea was the problem. They gave me a CPAP and now I sleep a lot better.
Exposing yourself to sunlight before 10 am helps set your circadian rhythm. If you're not getting natural morning light try it out! Even brief daily morning walks can help, or just having your breakfast or morning drink outside. Wishing you good sleep.
If all the doctors online, I trust Dr Young the most. Plus he just seems like a cool dude. It sounds like I’m doing the right things based on what he’s said in the past and summarized today. I cut way back on sugar and my skin is looking so much better!
I cut out sugar products as much as possible. I only have two cups of coffee in the mornings and I use Splenda, that is the only time I use a sweetener. I have signed up to your 21 day challenge but I will try and make it a life time change as much as possible. I am looking forward to eating a healthier diet.
I've been thinking about supplementing collagen, but it is usually made of animal products and as a vegan I don't want to consume it. Do you know if plant-based collagen is as effective as conventional collagen?
@@tammiebrown8317There are plenty of vegan collagen powders and supplements, actually. They use silica and other ingredients to help encourage your body to produce collagen naturally.
In the autumn and winter months I do 2 deep micro needling sessions and 2 50% tca peels. I started doing this when I was 40, I'm now 53. I slowly worked way up to 50 % over the years. I wouldn't recommend starting off at this percentage though. I won't be going any higher than 50%.
The new book is great. I’ve even highlighted passages like I’m in school again. 😂 I’m on day 5 of the 3 week eating plan. The recipes are delicious and easy. But, TBH, I have trouble eating three meals a day. I’m a 2/day mostly. So hoping I won’t gain weight. I also started a subscription to Tretinoin. I’ve been using red light for 2 years and love it. Thank you for these videos
If you have a planet fitness black card membership you probably have access to a full body red light therapy machine… not sure that’s the same as red light that’s beneficial to skin but I think it might be. It’s the full body enhancement machine
quick question, if LED lights are supposed to be toxic to our health, are they safe and effective for skin care? perhaps I'm wrong but this is my one concern about red light therapy
Does anyone know about a study comparing hydrolyzed collagen vs high-quality protein intake supplements? Since they are both amino acids how would our body know that we are taking it for the skin and not for the muscles? Not here to fight, but rather for the truth.
It doesn't matter which remedy you use, it only works as well as you believe in it. Hermeticism is right with its physical laws. Everything is controlled spiritually. The "Placebo Effect" or “Murphy’s law” is evidence of this. We create our reality with our beliefs about how we see it. We grow old because we are afraid of it or believe it is normal. We become younger again when we believe that a substance used has this effect. Even without any substance, we can become younger by talking to our body cells and asking them to rejuvenate. The more we believe in it, the better it works. Everything in life works like that.
Dr youn, you are the best!!! Thanks so much!!! Staring down the barrel of 50. Crapping my pants. Doing everything i can think of that i can reasonably afford. Im hoping for a little plastic surgery for my 50th. ($) 🙏
I just discovered you and love how down to earth you are.🥰 Years ago I bought collagen, but then I became vegan and I gave it away. I don't know if vegan collagen would work, but I wouldn't mind looking into it. I already IF twice a week pretty often. I was wondering if fruit would fall under "sugar" to stay away from? I love fruit and don't see it as the same as processed sugar, but so often it gets a bad rap.😩💔❤️
thanks for recommending bakucheol, always got to me that most hyped form of retinoids is tretinoin which is synthetic product made in a lab and by Johnson and Johnson with the help of an "evil" scientist. really not that attractive to me
Thank you for the info Dr Youn! :) I would like to ask if I can replace the sugars with xylitol or erythritol or stevia? Or shouldn't these be consumed either? My other question is whether the simple home infrared lamp that has been available for a long time is suitable for redlight therapy? Or is it a completely different red light frequency?
Can you recommend at least some good collagen supplements? Not as a paid promotion. Just what would you take yourself. There are millions on the market claiming to be top. And it is hard.
Yikes, just read yesterday that a large recent study, in facial fillers, restylaine and juvederm cause cancer since they block the lymphatic system. Has anyone else come across this and is it supposedly true? Worried for my sister who has fillers done on her face every few months
Dr. Youn I love ur videos thank you for ur great content. I have a q regarding collagen suppliments. I have been taking collagen peptides for a few months and did see improvements in skin, however my liver enzymes in blood went up. I stopped taking them and after a month it went back to normal. Can collagen effect the liver? Ps Nothing has changed in my lifestyle or diet. Thank u
Hi Dr. Youn is there a way to reduce a large masseter muscle without botox?? I have large masseter muscles from teeth grinding/chewing due to stress ans anxiety. The anxiety has gotten better after therapy and worked on the grinding habit but I am left with headaches and huge boxy jaw shape cause the muscle grew big 😭 I have only heard botox is the treatment but it is so expensive and I worry about it being done correctly... are there other options to treat it??
I get that you want people to buy your book and you believe in the message you've written in it, but at this point, with it being brought up in every video, it feels like you just want to make money from us. It's not something I'm terribly happy with myself for saying, but at this point it makes me question whether I should be watching your videos at all. Good luck.
Well, he gives free information and earns money from RU-vid. He worked hard for his education and what is wrong with making more money for his achievements?
Nothing changes. I use to take a collagen peptide powder but stopped cuz I got more into working out and with all the supplements and healthy food choices/purchases I just quit taking collagen. However, I did see noticable improvements.
About skin getting thinner: If you keep your face and neck out of the sun 100% your skin will NEVER CHANGE.I know this from experience. How do you think Cher does it?She never exposes her face and neck to the sun.
@@lilg2300 You dont know what you're talking about.I have read BOOKS by Cher and in her first book she talks about how when she was 34 years old she had a retin A peel and her dermatologist at the time told her if she doesn't want wrinkles to keep her face and neck out of the sun all the time.If you dont believe that sun exposure causes all wrinkles and cataracts please Google: Sun exposure causes wrinkles. Also you can Google: Sun exposure causes cataracts.
As a diabetic, I am also forced to follow a strict daily diet. For years I have been taking Metformin tablets to help me process sugar. But some say it also helps to slow down ageing, helping metabolism to work efficiently. The opinion of a competent doctor can help shed a lot of light on this issue.
I’m 21 and I don’t have much wrinkles anywhere but my forehead skin has always looked a bit loose I don’t know why I feel like I have small wrinkles on the middle of my forehead I asked my dermatologist if I should have Botox done but she said I won’t do that for you go find another doctor because it’ll make it worse she said you can do a upper face lift instead because the wrinkles aren’t there because of aging Honestly I’ve been thinking about forehead implants but idk…
Dont worry,, just dont do botox in the forehead, I heard that it makes your skin go down and makes the brows sag down towards your eyes .. my english is not the best but hope you understand what i mean
My question is how can I make myself look older? I’m 35 and I look like I’m still in my early 20’s. It’s an issue for me because people treat me like I’m young and I don’t get the respect as I should. I usually don’t wear makeup so that maybe a factor. Right now I don’t have the time to put on makeup. Any tips would be great appreciating.
@@taratata4723 unfortunately people don’t treat me like I’m 35. They don’t treat me seriously. People treat me like more like I’m 23. I get ugly looks when I’m trying to buy beer or whatever. It’s not a great thing. It’s also hard to date because I like guys over 50 so most men don’t even ask because they think I’m too young for them.
@@m.m.4639 I wish people treated me like my age. It’s not just about the looks. I have a lot of gray hair and it makes me feel more closer to my age. I have no kids so that doesn’t help either.
I’m reading In Stitches!! It’s hilarious!!! You’re hilarious! I hope you keep writing funny books!! It was decided you’d become a doctor at age 7!!😂😂You have a real talent and sense of humor! I’m recommending Stitches to others and reading it aloud to my husband! He loves it! I’ll read yr new book soon too as soon as I get it from the library!
I had bought 2 containers of collagen powder at a health food store in the summer. It was certified & hugely expensive. I used half of one,no difference & my ex stole the other. My face has gone beyond wrinkles to deep cracks from stress in the last 2 years. I used expensive products but got adult acne and cracks. Im on tretonin prescription but now have dry peeling skin and no change to wrinkles
Weird I got a breakout of eczema likes rashes on my face and neck after taking a supplement with college. Might not be the cause at all but I am wondering
Curious your thoughts on the skincare brand Nannette de Gaspe, is it just luxury packaging and marketing or is there something to it (specifically the dry masks technology)?
