Awesome video! at 0:23 you added an edge to a face, how did you do it?
@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho Год назад
Thank you! And that's "Add Isoparm" which is CTRL+R, it adds edges based on the UV span layout of the face. Sorry for not including the keys on that one, it's a very old help video, future vids will all have keys. Also, I like your username :)

It would be much easier, if you would show us the shortkeys and commands you use 😅
@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho 3 месяца назад
Hi, commands are all in the description for each section - Press "F" then type in a few letters of the command to see the shortcut/assign one with a right-click. My other slower videos have keypresses, but some shortcuts may be outdated. And the above video was done before release, before I had that software and while talking people through it on Discord. I'd recommend the main channel: www.youtube.com/@getplasticity And these channels for more: www.youtube.com/@LearnEverythingAboutDesign www.youtube.com/@Munsplit www.youtube.com/@Pixelfondue www.youtube.com/@Glenn3D1993

Great video , was able to follow along ,except the last part. I cant figure out how to snap on object to another. for example i want to align a face of a cube to a face of another cube and snap directly to it.
@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho Год назад
Thanks! :) And there I'm using the "Place" tool (CTRL+D as the shortcut). It'll duplicate your selection and then allow you to snap it to other objects (if snapping is on). And you can adjust it's orientation with the shortcuts that will show up in the bottom right and the gizmo in the viewport (for example: after initial click placement, the yellow arrow will allow you to offset it).

Ah, afraid I've been doing these sorts of helps requests for months, so a number will be on an older version. If there are any specific timestamps you're having trouble with, I'll answer with the updated information :)

@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho Год назад
Hi Jose, for specific tools I'd recommend either the Wiki (see link in the about page, then "All Tools" and search for "construction"), or @pixelfondue videos and search the same there (think they have at least 3 last I checked). If what you'd like to know isn't covered there though, just reply again with what you're missing and I'll look into it for you :)

Hi! Im a blender user and am new to the ui of plasticity. I created a cylinder and am trying to scale down the size of the face on the top part of the cylinder but when i press S to scale, it doesnt scale the face down. Could you please assist me on this! Thanks!!
@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho Год назад
Hi there! You're running into the difference between polygons and nurbs geometry there I think. There aren't really what you'd consider traditional vertices or edges, it's more that the edges are visually trimmed boundaries of a face. So, you to need to redefine the connecting boundaries (probably sounds a bit complicated, it takes a bit of a mindset change, everyone has to go through it :) ). So to taper an existing cylinder, what you actually would be adjusting is the wall of the cylinder. So, to taper inward/scale down, you select a reference face (in this case, the face on the opposite end that you want to be tapered), click the "Draft Face" (bottom right toolbar), then select the cylinder wall (the face being adjusted), then use the white circle (or degrees in the dialogue box) to adjust the degree of taper. Hope that helps. Feel free to ask more, though there's both a public (trial) and private (license purchased) Discord server available which might help, the Wiki link in my about page, and @pixelfondue videos as additional resources. Good luck! :)

@@NullPointerEcho Is there a way to loft between 2 different shaped ellipses so that the lofted surface connecting both ellipses remains straight without a visible concave bowing? Even with several guide points or intermediary loft ellipses some distortion is present. Plasticity 1.4
@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho 4 месяца назад
@@tomlaionyt Generally a straight loft like that would be a G0 setting (tangent connection). But, it might be impacted by the geometry itself as well, based on the edges, etc. Hard to tell without seeing it. Best bet would be to post in the help channel on the discord with that part of the file/screenshots (link is at the bottom of your purchase email, or I believe there's mention of the free one for trials somewhere too)

No voice??? This is pretty much useless.
@NullPointerEcho
@NullPointerEcho Год назад
It's all pretty straightforward though? I'll be including voice for a surfacing collection since that requires background. But, for these examples if you're having trouble following I'd recommend learning the basics of the functions with the Wiki I made (link in the about page), and that also includes a video tutorial page for resources if you need a non-written format. Pixelfondue's are the most popular.
@Demosophist
@Demosophist Год назад
@@NullPointerEcho Yeah, it's like hand signals for the blind. Gestural communication without voice is very old, but you really can't do much gesturing with a little arrow flitting around. It's just not very expressive.
@Bingbangbong28
@Bingbangbong28 Год назад
@@Demosophistif u find it useless, it means u still need to work on ur fundamentals. This video is clearly not for beginners. Also it wouldnt hurt to use a nicer tone as this user who made this tutorial pit in time and effort into making something that would help others. Be better and not blame others for ur lack of knowledge.
@Demosophist
@Demosophist Год назад
@@Bingbangbong28 Well, communication is sort of my business and the way this is communicated isn't really for anyone, unless you're actually trying to hide the content... like from censors or something. It's like the signals between the catcher and the pitcher, intended to keep the batter in the dark.
@Bingbangbong28
@Bingbangbong28 Год назад
@@Demosophist again, ur missing the point here. The issue here isnt abt the content being delivered. Its the mismatch in knowledge. If u have a strong background in 3d modelling, seeing the shapekeys that he has shown in the video would be enough for u to get a grasp of what he is doing. Most advanced 3d modelling tutorials do not include voice and only show shapekeys that are used. Some even show a sped up workflow. This is normal. But if u are a beginner, which u clearly are, this video is not for you as the level of communication in this case involves too big of a skill gap for u to comprehend. This tutorial isnt useless. Ur just not there yet buddy.
