I go over some plate carrier philosophy, show my setup, and go on a few tangents along the way. We don't script things around here. Maybe some day we will. Who knows.
Love the intro and music Tried out a plate carrier and plates a few months ago. Considering that I don’t work out anymore, it was very painful on my shoulders for 2 days even when I stopped wearing the carrier. Wore a chest rig and some loaded mags yesterday at the range. That setup works best for me
After working with CBP officers and watching them walk for hours on end in the hot Arizona sun wearing a minimalistic plate carrier like that with the laser cuts I got one similar to it. I don't carry a lot on it, as I like most on a belt, similar to what you have on your plate carrier. Seems to work well, just I have 3+ steel plates. Budgets ya know, but it weighs as much if not a little less than my IOTV with issue plates and pouches.
@@nathanielyoungman4454 $200 I'll give you the slick shoulder sleeve covers with it too. I'm also selling the skeleton tubular cummerbund too, if your interested in that as well I'll need to check the size of it when I get home. Whats a good way to contact each other outside of here?
A rifleman in most cases should unanimously carry additional ammunition if we're talking the context of war rather than in the context of something like active shooter response.
There's all sorts of places to get M50's. Facebook gear groups are a good resource for sure like Cool Guy Tactical Gear B/S/T and others. They run about 350ish for a kit.
@@sectorseven07 mb ur balaclava/ski mask 🤣 I already got a pro mask, also if ur near a military town u can go to places like gi supply or gi Joe’s they have Some gear u could get for cheap
What's your opinion on ferro gear? To be completely honest I am a ferro concepts shill myself, so I may be somewhat biased. I just want to know your opinion of them.
Yes, mounting ptts is definitely more difficult. If you plan to run a placard the axl placard adapter has a ptt mount on it though. I have since swapped to the AVS which is much better for me.@@brad_1388_
I disagree with your dehydration + long distance movement. Situationally dictated I’d say, if you know your going to a known contact point (that is you know it’s going to be hot) then the plates are coming along haha Great video
Wearing the plates, will cause you to sweat if you are trekking any meaningful amount of distance. So bringing them with you without wearing them would be more ideal.
Same, the whole point of a plate carrier is because contact is expected at any time. It's hot but you just got to deal with it. If it's like truly a safe route then you might as well put the entire plate carrier in your pack and just stick with what's on your belt as your immediate use equipment. I would rather take off shirt and pants if you need to stay cool than remove the armor.
@@Riorozen I would say the operation is destined to failure if the difference of a plate changes water supply from adequate to not. This would highlight bigger logistical issues in planning such as the movement plan being unreasonable, and the lack of prior cached supplies during the initial recon. If water is in that low supply, then it basically doesn't matter if you wear plates because your loadout weight is still going to be very heavy just in water weight alone.
Electrolytes electrolytes electrolytes. Get yourself drip drop pouches for fast use and ideally focus on hydration 72hrs before a long movement and you won't be fucked. Also if the entire idea is SHTF, focus on being nimble with plates on and less on a huge infantry esk loadout. Not like you're dealing with ConOps, Order and Fragos on a constant basis alongside a Command Staff that has you do multiple gear dumps before an operation to make sure everyone is packing everything they need and taking extra shit they don't need.
the k19 sucks. worse cummerbund that only has a few molle sections and isnt nearly as rigid. shoulder straps are also way too thick and blocks the rifle stock for no reason. it also retains water much more than the spc. it worse in every way.
