'Platinum Jubilee LIVE: The Queen Lights Up the UK with Jubilee Beacons'
The Queen will kickstart the lighting of a chain of beacons across the UK to mark her Platinum Jubilee.
Her Majesty will be at Windsor Castle to light the principal beacon, closely followed by another by Prince William at Buckingham Palace.
There is a long tradition of celebrating Royal Jubilees, Weddings and Coronations with the lighting of beacons. A beacon chain, once used as a tool for communication, has now become a symbol of unity across towns, borders, countries and continents and is often the central point of focus for any outdoor gathering or celebration.

It was wonderful to see the Queen light this special beacon, so great that all those baby trees making up the beacon were nit set alight, no fireworks so no pollution or risk. Poor Queen Elizabeth, she’s in pain, I’m younger than her but have a disorder called CRPS, I’m always in pain. Some days I have to push myself just to get around. I don’t have wheelchair ♿️, it’s not that bad, I got a walking stick because the Queen has one.I hot glued a fake DIAMOND 💎 on it. My husband said when are you getting a cane? The Queen has one. I’m 63, not ready.

I'm nearly speechless & I'm never speechless. This had me in tears. What an incredible display of love, loyalty & respect for Her Majesty The Queen. I do have to say, that you could tell she was in pain. My heart was breaking for her but then, the lighting just showed how much she is loved. As an American, I think we just take for granted HMTQ's accomplishments but I can see in this that it isn't just about accomplishments, it is about the love & respect that Queen Elizabeth had 70 years ago and still has today. The emotion in William made me cry and I am American. God save the Queen! If they ever did a poll of the most admired women worldwide, I am sure she would come out on top. The picture of decorum, but a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, all while being Head of State of 70 years. She has seen it all and dealt with it all with such graciousness.

Oh that is so awesome for you! I love history and even at times felt like I was born at the wrong time. I would love to have been able to wear those dresses over 100 years ago and have my dance card and be wooed by a man. When you love history you can't help but love the royal family because there is three is so deep. I don't know how old you are but I hope you live long enough to see a third Queen on the throne. I'm hoping I live long enough to see Charles and Camilla become king and queen consort and to see Prince William become the Prince of Wales. I've watched them grow up. We're you close enough to see them good? Lucky you

Thank you for this footage.I couldnt walk long distances with my still healing ankle - even if I would be in London for the Queens jubilee. And a wheelchair is no option. A bicycle would rather be one. But difficult with all the crowded streets. London os bursting with people. Which is good in the sense of turnover being made. The light installations are so gorgeous! The performance so beautiful. Truly amazing.

I cannot imagine a world without her. Her Majesty has always been there, of a lineage imperial by the Grace of God, ever the pillar of poise. She could not have served her people without honouring Love as the source of Creation; neither could she have honoured Love without serving her people with such dedication. In a world which has seen many changes, and many not always for the better, she has remained a constant. Since my early childhood through to my present age of 64 years, I have never not loved her. God bless Her Majesty!

Royal Family Channel, thank you so very much for your excellent coverage of this wonderful historical event in Queen Elizabeth II celebration of her 70 years upon the throne. I'm in the United States of America, and thus I'm missing the live streaming of these so your channel is helping me enjoy the festivities too. Even though I'm a Native American I was 3 years old when she was crowned, and remember seeing that back then on the television and instantly fell in love with her. Stunning!! What a difference a year makes. Although she looks pretty healthy she is looking frailer then ever before. She is an amazing woman who has per her first speech as Queen stated given her whole life long or short to the countries service. I attribute her change in mobility and apparent frailness not only to her age but to having to adjust to life without her TRUE LOVE. God Bless Queen Elizabeth, From Maine, USA
