That's an interesting question -- can a vice ever get so bad that it basically kills or decomposes the soul itself? I would say that the answer for Plato seems to be No -- though it can get pretty, pretty bad! There's always a soul in existence, so there'd still be a vice as well, but some people are so incorrigable (in the Phaedo) in their vices that they get sent to Tarterus, and never get back out.

I assume everyone in the comments section was a completely attentive learner who was never once distracted in college. Anyway, another great video Professor Sadler.

Some people just like to complain, I think. Fortunately, they're in the minority

very interesting, reminds me of the teachings of Gurdjieff and his three drives of the enneagram. It is also come to my knowledge that Plato was "initiated" in esoteric teachings.Most of his work goes back to Parmenides someone told me (don't know it that is so) but it makes the pieces of the puzzle more interesting :-)
@GregoryBSadler

I wouldn't read any of that in. And, it's not the case that most of Plato's work goes back to Parmenides

How can shopping take a whole day? It takes me about twenty minutes to walk to the supermarket, about twenty minutes to buy my grocery's, and twenty minutes to walk home again. That is about an hour.

But what are the similarities or differences between justice of the individual and that of the city? Couldn't pick that up

The one maps on to the other. Watch it again, or if you like, read the actual text. . .
