It's weird, I've mentioned your video on other RU-vidr's videos who are still mentioning twilight menu. I figured it will help the 3ds homebrew community if more ppl new and they completely ignore my comment. I shout you out and tell them that this way is better and easier and that it's a good quality of life improvement. It's so weird, they have to keep their RU-vid videos relevant at all cost, even if it's something new and good involved. I guess they feel like I'm taking away from their channel but this helps everyone.

i appreciate you sharing it! i know sharing links usually gets comments blocked in comment sections, but i think people prefer twilight because you can use cheats and get the widescreen patch. But they don't even usually tell viewers there's an easier option if they just want to play the game

Keep in mind this doesn't work well for local multiplayer. It disconnects to frequently. Twilight menu, R4, or just the real cartridge games will work. I have four 3ds and we had to resort to Twilight menu for more power and stability on local multiplayer

Do you know how Chrono Trigger will go? There aren't many DS games I want to play so far. But Chrono Trigger is definitely one of them! *edit* Didnt work that well. Had some loading issues. Anyhow, I will find a solution. Do you have experience with that particular game? :)

Great tutorial, but one thing to note that I ran into for others to consider. I hit a ceiling of 50 installs for the DS games. Once I tried anything beyond 50, I got an error that said something to the tune of "No more DSiWare can be installed 50" So there is a limit to the number of DS games you can install - and it had nothing to do with my SD card, because all of my DS games fit on my MicroSD card just fine, but it just won't allow more than 50 installs.

Thanks, good video. I'm already setup with Twilight and honestly it's working well for me as I really have no room for more desktop icons. I also Open AGB for my GBA games but could not get the Open AGB launcher to work from the 3DS menu so have to launch that from start/boot screen.

you could use ultimate vc injector, this generates cia files from gb, gbc, gba, snes etc, and you can then install them directly to your 3ds menu. This i think, is the best method, because the 3ds can natively run gba games

You shouldn't run the nds forwarder games without having twilight menu installed Because the ds games run through nds boot strap and you won't be able to change any settings for that program without twilight if the games have any issues running. Not all games run perfectly with boot strap out of the Box.

by having the twilight menu installed and using the method in the video, is the only difference that the game icon is on the 3DS homescreen instead of in twilight app? also i just checked system settings and it says the game i got (Dogz) is on the system memory instead of the SD card. does that mean i should use the twilight method instead to save storage?

@@trinhplaythings the thing that gets saved on your system memory is just the forwarder, it still directs to the rom. The forwarder does take up space but it's practically nothing. The real issue you could have is running into the 300 title limit for the home menu. Each forwarder icon will count towards that limit.

I was looking for a tutorial like this but, was discouraged when I couldn't find it and ended up settling with the TWiLight loader. I'm glad I found this tho. Now I have both this and the TWiLight loader which I wouldn't change. Twilight loader for goofy cheats and such and this method for serious NDS playing. that is unless I can share the save file between the 2 (which I would love but I doubt it.) either way, this tutorial was awesome and I'm so glad that it was quick, simple, and straight forward. definitely a 10/10 would recommend 😁👍

This assumes that the vuewer already has a modded 3DS and an SD card with the folders, etc. from that on it. This seems like a super helpful video, but, as someone who hasn’t done this first step, I would love to be pointed in the direction of an equally simple tutorial on doing that if you’ve done one. Couple of questions: 1) Does this method allow you to bring up the home menu (such as to, say, turn the wireless switch on/off, since the newer 3DS models don't have an actual physical way of doing so on the device itself) without having to close the software entirely? 2) Do DS games installed this way count toward your 300 icon limit on the home screen? I suspect they might, but figured I'd ask anyway.

1No, if you use menu home while playing nds game u get the usual promt of "exit the game?" 2I dont remember if it counts towards the 300 but theres also a limit of 40 dsiware on the homescreen, i did look towards increasing or bypassing but it get really complicated beacuse if how is build the 3ds or something

@@amandadefelice2347 300 game limit in general.. Weather it is in folders or not, it counts towards the 300 limit... To bypass the 40dsi ware is too use twilight menu... Keep 40 of your best nds games on the home screen and whatever else on twilight beware twilight also has a 40 game limit per folder to bypass this just create separate nds folder alas nds 1 nds 2 nds 3 in folders and add 40 games too each folder.. just keep the 40 games separate you are going to use on the home screen in its own folder alas nds folder 1... You can load nds games just fine from twilight as long as you have 40 games in the other respective folder alas nds 2 and nds 3 etc... The wiii u also has this 300 or 250 game limit...

Just softmodded my 3DS finally. The BAT script for Kartminer didn't work. But I did order an ACE3DSX flash cart and was able to do it. I'm installing CIA files, and then I plan on installing DS. Thanks for this man. This looks easy. Gonna try it momentarily

What I was hoping I could achieve with this was to play DS games from sd card natively on the 3ds but that doesn't seem to be the case here. twilight menu doesn't really play at full compatibility cause there's some problems with games like trying to use features where you can connect to the Wii and other things. guess I'll just have to get an R4 card if I want full compatibility with DS games.
