I've been playing through playcover for quite some time now and it runs really good except for the keymapping part and YAAGL looks promising too but man hoyo should just release the game for mac already
They could just do what Square Enix did with Final Fantasy XIV and release the Mac version as a CrossOver wrapper. It works perfectly fine except for a couple graphical features that aren't available when playing on a Mac, like dynamic resolution
@@ddnava96 It's easier than that. SO MANY game developers claim it's difficult to target macOS / M1, when, in fact, it isn't. It's laziness and/or the inability to admit the dev made mistakes in their build configuration and they're unable / too lazy to fix it. It's terribly sad, really.
Finally!! I had given up on playcover because the key mapping hurt the gameplay, but more importantly, because for some reason the game asked me to log in again and it wouldn’t let me, so I assumed I had to turn off SIP again 🙄 now I can play this with a much smoother experience! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!
Same, I don‘t understand why HoYo refuses to make an official Mac version, since it works just fine with different 3rd party tools. So it can‘t be technical issues… Maybe they think the userbase is too small? 😢
@@roykent2316 I don't get why they don't just enable the option to allow the iOS version to be installed on M1's. I played two of their betas for Honkai Star Rail and it allowed me to install on my m1. Ran like a dream.

I tried it on M1 Max, here are my observations: Frame rates hit the 60fps cap in most places at highest settings, highest resolution and 1.5x render scale. However there were significant frame drops (~7-15fps) when looking at Dragonspine (when you are in various places in Mondstadt, or even as far as Guyun Stone Forest, with your camera pointed at Dragonspine), and stuttering (~20-40fps) when roaming around Aaru village. Overall performance is very impressive, given that this game has to be translated to metal through vulkan and DX, as well as being translated to Arm64 from x86_64
why would you have render scale at 1.5x it doesn't make sense. If your monitor supports certain resolution it doesn't matter to go above that, only hurts your performance.
One thing I would like to ask is,how does it work,like do u have to log into your account each time or is it like an app folder that you open that links to the windows
Thanks! This works perfectly with my mac, was hesitant to try playcover but glad to find this. I downloaded the launcher on an external drive and it works as well. Here are some tips for anyone who also want to try this method: For the "Allocating files on disk" problem during the download process, try changing the external drive's format to APFS; Update your ios system to the latest, my screen was frozen a few times before the update.
did you check the file's size while it allocating? cuz it'll allocating for a while as part of downloading process, if the file size keeps increase during allocating then it means downloading, otherwise u may have to troubleshoot urself depends on devices and such, gl! @@rxns-jj4rt
Thanks for sharing. I tried the sideloaded playcover version you shared before but the key mapping was too uncomfortable so I just reverted to playing on my phone
i turn off everything in the background, keep connected to a power source, and run some external cooling like fans and keep the device on a surface that doesnt absorb heat@@mishamendelenko3301
@@ajx9680 same guy different account. You shouldn’t care about the heat. You have a laptop with fans probably so it’s whatever. Regarding the battery… well, what MacBook do you have and how much time does it last?
@@quifix2506 I have the 2020 macbook pro and I haven't played it for very long but when I do play with the aYaagl Launcher i get the popup of "battery draining too quickly".
one reason why anime game has been repeated several times is probably to avoid linking this to the huge amount of traffic that would most likely take place when interested mac users click to watch and download this "method", probably to avoid ruining the progress
@Utkarsh Amitabh Srivastava If you want to run genshin on mac or linux you need to disable the anticheat which is what these launchers do. This is obviously against genshin tos
ive been playing with it for quite a while now and one thing ive noticed is that it sometimes freezes at the screen like full freeze that i have to force quit. and second is that whenever i put open another app, after switching to it again i cant seem to find the cursor or the cursor wont appear at all
Did it go back to allocating files for you too? Because I’m downloading it right now and it said 10GB which is a lil strange, whenever it’s done downloading it’s going all the way back to allocating files like what

hey guys, i have played on this YAAGL for a couple hours, and I found that except for the old map like liyue monstadt inazuma, the new desert map is kind of lagging, the snow mountain also is very laggy. my fps at the old city is kind of a maximum 59/60 but when i teleport to the new map it drop significantly to 3x 2x even 1x. the developer may need to put of a lot of work into this.
yeah it is, that is the genshin game itself there's no offline server or something, unless its a private server that you still otherwise need wifi.@@yunikuroo
For anyone experiencing a white box where the captcha should be, the actual captcha is smaller than the box. All I had to was keep clicking and dragging until I actually touched the actual captcha and then it appeared.
Dear Andrew, you just saved me 600 bucks. I was getting so fed up with Playcover Genshin‘s dogshit graphics and keymapping issues, that I was seriously considering buying a PS5. But now I don‘t have to anymore! 😊 God bless you, keep up the great work! ❤
Tbh keymappings issues can be easily solved with a controller (which is supported on ios) i tried ds4 and ds5 controllers and they both work fine. Also, graphic really improved I can play at 140 average fps at 1440x3440 with really good results (for a mobile version obviously) and there is no more problem of low resolution etc... while in the pc version ur locked at 60 fps anf u can even get lower fps with emulation (and i dont talk about the fact u can be banned with this wine method)
so about how long did "allocating files on disk" take? I've spent an hour on this and i don't think its doing anything. I'm using a APFS Sandisk Dual Drive with a M1 2020 Sonoma Mac. Is there something blocking it from downloading?
Hey, i still have the fatal error message when downloading the game even if i put it in a new folder in Admin as you did... Edit: if you also have the same issue, do not download the same YAAGL version as shown in the video, try downloading the latest one
for some odd reason when I play the game in 4k the game runs perfectly on M1 Pro even when I look at dragon spine it stays a constant 60 fps but once I enter dragons-one I drop down to 30 fps so this runs perfectly fine but for everything else its a constant 60 fps

Andrew Tsai can you please make a video about flash games on mac ever since flash stopped being supported there are very few ways to play flash games and animations. bluemaxima has created a collection and launcher for flash games.Mac and Linux support is limited right now ive tried testing it and got stuck at searching for games. Please consider this is an avenue many people haven't touched on especially on mac i firmly believe this is important for historical purposes. Thank you

Tried it today but I encountered a problem. “Yaagl OS” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified. And its only giving me 2 option which is to move the file to the trash or cancel. Any idea on how I can make it work?
It’s not working the launcher tells me I require at least 150 gb free disk storage even though I have 200 gb free disk storage. If someone knows how to fix this please reply
I figured it out. Another comment had the same problem. She said, I quote: "go to settings, and find where it says System Preferences > Secruity & Privacy and then General. At the bottom of the window, there should be multiple options under the allow apps to be downloaded from option and select 'Anywhere' to allow your Mac to download any and all apps you'd like to open" For me it as a bit different: Setting > Security & Privacy > under the Section 'Secruity' there are two option that you can choose from in a box. Underneath of it, since I tried to install the file already, there was the file and asked, if I allow it to install and agreed. Hope that helps
I've played a lot of genshin on PS4 and PS5 but since I got my M2 pro Mac mini , I returning back to emulation Heaven , these machines are ideal for emulation from older system like NES to PS3 or Switch ( unfortunately no X360 emulation yet ) but been able to play Genshin is great, and also I cannot stop playing games like Jet Set Radio Future, Crazy Taxi 2 , 3, all of Ridge Racer Games , it's so good . does someones knows a website who lists all the game Apple Silicon Macs can run ?
@@ghostninja2626 on the M3 max MBP i have now performance is awesome , but i think a M1 or M2 would be okay as long as you have more than 8 gigs of ram for some recents consoles emulators .. but for older ones it should be okay .. have fun

Hey there, I've tried playing genshin in a ton of ways on mac and stumbled upon this video. I did all the steps but when it came to opening Yaagl OS it said: “Yaagl OS” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified. macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware. I'm using M2 macbook air and it wont let me play it. Is it safe to play on this application because I really do not want to get any malware or damage escpecially cuz I am using this one for school. Pls let me know if u know what to do. Thanks
if you still need help: "If you downloaded an app from a trusted source but still can't open it because of the “macOS cannot verify that this app is free from malware” error, you can try installing the app anyway. To do this, hold down Control and click on the app, then select “Open” from the context menu."
I really want to finally play on a macbook with better graphics .. but how scary if your account is banned 😱 And yes, I understand that there were no bans before. But damn it, when you play the game for several years (and spent 1300 hours on it) and you know that the final of the game itself will be in a few more years ... and then you definitely don’t want to catch up. How does the battery life and performance compare to playing this via playcover? I’d love to give this a try but the iPad version runs so well on my Mac with great battery life that it’s hard to give that up.
The Windows version is definitely going to more intensive than the iPad version. you're running on an MacBook Air or something more low performance, thermals might be a concern.
@@crestofhonor2349 I'm playing at 120 fps and gets about 5 hours of battery life using Playcover. I think I'll stick to that since I'm mostly in combat. Really tempted to see how much better the gfx on the PC version is though.
First day - everything is installed. Everything is working! Very happy) Macbook Pro m1 - high settings. Day two - (I don't know because of this program or not, but...) there were 200 GB of free space. This is after installing the game. And suddenly it ended. I go into the settings - and I see that the size of all applications is growing and growing !!! Does anyone have the same after installing this application? I just don't understand where so much space could have gone...
hey its 2024 now I don't know if there is something wrong with Mac book but on part 4:30 I try to double click but instead of the downloader opening up there is small window that opened saying " “Yaagl OS” cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified." Is there anyway to get past it?
is it normal that when I try to login it just shows me a blank screen? Like it can open, everything else works but after clicking on the door it's just a blank screen after that do I need to just wait for longer?
Now when I am playing for a few minutes the game freezes which forces me to force quit and restart which I have now done twice in a row can you tell me a fix (also my wine is gi wine 1.2) it was freezing at the zhongli mission where I chose the noctilucous jade righ at the last click and now it just freezes whenever I enter the mission to buy flowers pls help man
