I need to go through a lot of your other training material before I will even be qualified to follow along with you on this video. You are a God.

I am not. But enjoy your study none the less!

Great video. Not enough love for Dan Harrington’s zone strategy, which uses multiples of initial pot (blinds plus antes) instead of just BB to determine your overall tournament strategy, not just for push/fold.

If you have a healthy stack, late stage is a good time to be stealing dead money from antes and blinds. If your table is really passive, you can easily keep your stack healthy or even grow it just stealing blinds/antes.

Hey would've been pretty useful to include some more grey areas instead of making it binary, that way you leave some leeway if we feel like someone is playing too tight in a situation or too loose or we've got some kind of read on the table, thanks good vid
@ThePokerBank
@ThePokerBank Год назад
Thank you! To clarify, the binary (simplified method) just removes complex mixes. GTO doesn't factor in exploitative ideas like players being overly loose or tight.

This shows you should specialize in cash or tournaments and get one of them down cold first. Then go back and learn the other. They are vastly different games and require different strategies.

The more you study tournament poker the more you'll see why it's so popular. Online tournaments and sit n gos I can consistently make money. Online cash is horrible for me, seems to end on a bad beat every time, I don't have anywhere close by to play live. When I get to play live it seems really soft.

Hi, thanks for the video! Does the tournament speed for eg regular vs hyper-turbo or online play vs live tournament affect those ranges in any way from GTO perspective?
@TheGameKat
@TheGameKat Год назад
To a first approximation, no. There is a second order effect resulting from the faster blind increases that can in principle be modeled, but like a lot of such corrections it tends to get washed out by other factors such as opponent deviations from GTO play.

Sorry but 57.3% shove range from UTG is torching money. You will be lucky to get away with that once from UTG before you run into a top 5% hand that will definitely call you based on your stack size even with high icm pressure due to you being so short and many players having a 2 to 1 or 3 to 1 chip advantage over you. Even the best players in the world in the super high roller bowls don't open ship Q2, J2s, 52s off from UTG at a full 9 handed table with 10 bb...

Fun fact: if everyone *only* continued with a top-5% hand, your UTG shove would be even better 👍

Buddy you just contradicted yourself, you said it’s torching money with such a heavy shove spot, like you said you will run into top 5% of peoples ranges but only 5% of the time😂😂😂 95% of the time they will have similar ranges to you 53% of the time top of range 5% and rubbish the rest😂. So it’s profitable seeing as 30% or so of the time you’re picking up blinds, or running good.
@Mikelarry993

Btw it’s shoving only 42% of the time from cut off, 11% is a big difference
@just2solid

Sure... raise 42 suited and q2 off with a 10bb stack from utg with that high icm pressure u speak of & see what happens when people realize your open range is too wide & they decide they are actually playing to win the tourney because it's not a once in a lifetime spot for them. Watch what happens then...

Also rest of the video I agree with 100% but I think ur drastically underestimating the risk people are willing to take or the fact that good players who have been there before won't be scared to put their money in the second they see your opening wider then you should be... It's a good video & I think in some instances if it's life changing money like wsop final table & none of the other players have had 6 or 7 figure scores then I'd agree, but if the table is stacked with serious players who have been there before I wouldnt underestimate their understanding of ranges & capabilities of making quick adjustments to put u in your place.
