Do you have a video on learning those super fast jazzy fill arpeggios? Mike Garson does it all the time, it fills the melodies. Saloon pianist do it too, it doesn’t sound like the regular arppeggios

Merci for this. First time I came across your channel. Good tip about the neck tension. I have filmed a video based on my pianist exercises, that is to say the exercises a pianist should do for their body to be a better athlete at the piano. Of course it starts with Left Hand technique, the root...the low back. Stabilisation and strengthening of gluts and abs. But they only take 30 seconds to one minute. Because of an orthopaedic problem, I learned some important treatment techniques for the upper extremity, which seem to pique the interest of every pianist. Especially for the strength of the 5th finger. I'm going to offer it to pianist channels, since I don't want to start my own channel. Would you be interested?

Is it normal to find it difficult with the left hand at first, as 4th and 5th finger aren't used to being stretched like that?

Came back to this 2 months later. Uhh, yup. Arpeggios are important. Guess I'll work on them, and work on them, and work on them some more.

Thanks for the PLAYING. So many videos have the person standing there and jabbering. We don't need that . . . we just need to hear the piano. And the various camera angles are EXCELLENT. You should be the model on which all music instructional videos should be based.

what about inversions should i practice those to

Yes. Imho, learn how to play every major scale via Circle of Fifths clockwise, then anticlockwise, then chromatically starting from C. Learn the triads for every scale in the Circle of Fifths. Then you should focus on each scale individually imho for a week once you know the circle of fifths off by heart and learn how to play them ascending in thirds, fourths, arpgeggiated from every inversion etc. I'd recommend a metronome for each scale. I'd then focus on learning dominant progressions via the Circle of Fifths and the three inversions for those. Then BOOM you're way more competent at playing piano and understand the language of music way more once it's mechanical. Then you can focus on syncopation, walking bass, glissando etc. if you want to go jazzy.

@@Vasioth Hey thanks for the lesson plan! This comment is what I've been looking for, a guideline on what to practice in what order. I've been playing stringed instruments for almost 10 years, have a lot of catching up to do on piano!

prashanth play as accurately as you possibly can at first. To a metronome. Slow and smooth. Then increase the metronome.. repeat to build technique and speed
