I think the taimanov can work at all levels, I´m currently 2100 and I use it a lot, and I beaten some CM´s and FM´s with it

11:37 not a smothered mate, wiki "a smothered mate is a checkmate delivered by a knight in which the mated king is unable to move because it is completely surrounded (or smothered) by its own pieces". But, of course, at ELO 1015 you wouldn't know that...

Thanks Aman! I'm shopping for a Sicilian variation to learn as my second black weapon. I'm rated 1700 and currently play the Stafford, Petrov, and Scandinavian but I want something I can grow with, expand my knowledge and fight for the win. I'm torn between Accelerated Dragon, Dragon and Taimanov, which avoids the Rossolimo and scores best statistically below 2000.
