There are few things that are double tracked, watch his live performances. Many guitar players will record the rhythm parts so they can complete song take, and fill in around it, vocals, then do the leads perfectly. But there are many people covering this song that can play the solo in line with the song. It took me a bit, but to me scariest parts are the beginning Mozart phrase and the last descending scale. Few people get the descending scale right - it is a lot of notes (like Nili bails some notes in the end) Even Nuno bails when he is playing it live as well. At the speed it is played, the entire song is scary. It does separate who has the hairy bean bags to play it, and who doesn't have the skills to do it.
Also note that Nuno's rhythm and timing is just as impressive as his speed and technique, and he's got a great singing voice and creativity. Nuno can do it all.
The shredding is what hooked me too... but then I realized that Nuno has incredible sense of rhythm, groove, and also melody - put him above many other shredders of the time like Vinnie Vincent or Yngwie. Nuno has said that EVH was a huge influence and I think he definitely incorporated the best elements of his style
I went from listening to Nuno's isolated track to listening to C.C. DeVille's isolated guitar track on "Unskinny Bop." It was like looking at "The Madonna of the Rocks" and then looking at my daughter's finger paintings from kindergarten. lol.
Yep. Reminds me of the arguments I got into on the video of Nuno, Vai, Kotzen and Tom Morello playing Yankee Rose where someone posted how much better Morello was compared to all the "has been hacks" on stage with him. Undoubtedly someone out there probably thinks CC is better than Nuno too - but they're wrong. :D
@@billwarner213 Don't have an LP. But, my 30 years playing and building guitars, teaching music and the time I spent in my youth as a session musician are more than enough to qualify my observation. Have you ever worked as a professional session musician, Bill? Have you ever been in an actual recording studio? Do you have any concept whatsoever about what separates a good track from a bad track? The mic hears everything, Bill.....flubs, missed strings, out of sync timing, wrong notes, lack of execution and technique and every other possible mistake that can be made. Nuno's track on "Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee" is immaculate. When he recorded this song, it was done on reel-to-reel, and not with the aid of computers or software that fix mistakes. This track is 100% all natural with no fillers, preservatives or artificial ingredients. To flawlessly record a tune like "Flight of the Wounded Bumblebee" requires a level of skill and talent that exceptionally few players have. Maybe incorporating a little more respect for other people's opinions into your social skills would suit you? Just a suggestion. Take care, Bill. :-)
@@chrisv5205 To add to your comment: A person doesn't have to be an expert at doing something themselves to recognize someone else's skill or lack thereof. For example, if you live in a house where all the trim has gaps and the doors won't close you can determine that the trim carpenter was not good at it, even if you you couldn't even put a nail in a piece of wood yourself.
O Nuno é diferente em tudo. Ele é o melhor de todos os guitarristas que ouvi até hoje. Gosto do modo que ele usa a guitarra mais pra baixo. Não gosto desse jeito dos outros guitarristas que tocam com a guitarra em cima do estômago, é estranho, da nervoso, parece que estão com medo de tomarem a guitarra deles rsrs. What drew me to Nuno’s playing when I first heard him was the same thing that drew me to Edwards playing when I first heard him. Those killer, funky tight rhythms!
I grew up idolizing this guy. His playing still continues to amaze me after all these years. Listening to this isolated guitar track was like hearing the song for the first time all over again.
I mean, they had a couple of pretty big songs, but to this day, really only guitarists (and not even as many of those as you'd think) know how incredible this band is. Nuno is kind of the definition of "underrated guitarist." When you're talking about mainstream knowledge, anyway.
I first heard this song on the Bill & Ted's soundtrack. I went out to the record store and bought it that same day. I was amazed by the whole album. Two weeks later, Pornograffitti came out. I bought that one, too, and I've been a fan for life.

YES! An isolated track for “Wait” would be awesome. Interesting side note - Vito and Nuno has the same producer early on who used nearly the exact same guitar rig for both in the studio. I know for a fact that the preset on the ADA MP-1 preamp was the same (matter of fact, he used the same MP-1 for both in the studio). But hearing the difference in their tone proves that’s its all in the hands.
@@FloridaManMatty actually the guitar and pickups will have made a pretty big difference too. Plug two different guitars into the same amp and you will usually notice a difference even just playing an A minor on each.
Amazing!!! I will never hear the song the same way again! By the way, is the tuning a little sharp? I know that his guitar is tuned half step down but it's slightly sharp.
...so? Rhianna's a fantastic singer who has some pretty rocking songs. Trashing artists just because you're close-minded about their music isn't a good look.
Love the lead tone, but not so much the rhythm tone. Fizzy and just not that great never realized until I heard this. Amazing playing though of course.
Remember that the tone was sculpted to fit the track- the bass, the drums, the vocal, etc... it's about how the guitar tone fits in the mix with wildly-variant other instruments and multiple vocals, etc...
Nuno (and many more... even me) can play any slash work... but slash can't even dream of playing as nuno, let alone play with me (angry slash-o-lover crying and arguing in 3... 2... 1... ) 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
