the story of this game is 1687 in france appeared mysterious boy with red shirt and a weird hat claiming to see group of peoples looking like scientists implementing kind of green flowers inside prisoniers brain using surgery and killing some of them after operation if they start to be dangerous, he discribed them as silent monsters living under water somewhere neer too a big mountain, the thing is that boy was speaking only german and spanish and he was knowing all the vodou spell was a big quesion , he didnt know what was the year back then or any place around him or even he remembered anyone of people next day the boy found dead hit by mysterious bone in the head and two pigs dead next to him ,it was message from the future

Just and incredible game. There are some games that stay with you, and I think this is one of them. Whoever this company is that made Limbo and this, they need some serious funding because they are making gems. They should work on the new bioshock. Just wow, I literally smoke my e cig while I'm watching these, but I was so into it I was barely smoking it, that says a lot to how much I was into it. Great atmosphere, mood, tone, music. 10/10 easily.

The last 20 minutes weirded me out like crazy. This game is short and good but I liked LIMBO more.

the problem that i had with the ending is not that its weird, but that it was way too easy. aside from the burning box, there was no real puzzle once in the blob. the story is actually pretty straight: humans started to create artificial humanoid lifeforms as a slave race/robots. now from the "regular" ending it seems that these lifeforms had developed intelligence/consciousness and used the boy to liberate them. but the alternate ending suggests that there was some kind of human activist group, that probably because of moral objection wanted to liberate the slaves/end the experiment and controlled the boy via the system of orbs. the only questions i have are about the miniature landscape of the ending in the lab, seen at ~1:46:19. may be there are not really free at the end and its just some kind of truman show world, may be its just a view to the outside world, that they cant enter any more. there is also a building in the miniature sea on the right, that we dont get to see in the ending.

The very beginning (up until he arrives to the corn fields) reminds me a lot of certain parts the novel "Daddy" by Loup Durand. The rest is a mixture of Ico, Metal Gear, Deadlight, Evangelion and 1984. Regarding the story, here's my two cents' worth about it: in the not so far future (presumably after a great war or global disaster), mankind's upper echelons conduct unethical experiments seeking to control society, performing them on human subjects. This eventually leds to the subjugation of individual thinking (except for the upper classes and some select individuals) as well as to the creation of "drones", human clones without a consciousness or personality of their own. Both subjugated humans and drones are used to perform a wide range of physical tasks, most of them routine, manual labor; they are controlled telepathically by an "operator" via electronic devices in the form of helmets. The system as a whole, in turn, is regulated and keep in check by a literal human gestalt, a biological abomination created by the amalgamation of several human beings (whether they joined voluntarily or otherwise, we don't know) into one being. The system is either not perfect or not fully implemented yet, and there have been reports of subjects who reject it, so constant vigilance and monitoring are mandatory. Along the way, the experiments have resulted in other byproducts, such as parasites that alter the behavior of animals (as seen on the pigs) and "mermaids", human mutants/mutates adapted to life underwater. There have been other advances in technology as well, including gravity altering devices and new types of ordnance, the later of which is still undergoing tests. Then we have two possible scenarios: a) Somehow, The Kid learns about at least part of what is going on (from a former researcher, an escapee test subject, an insider member of a resistance group...), as well as the location of The Gestalt, and makes it his mission to free it/them and set things right, be it out of a very strong moral compass, because he lost someone close during the implementation, or because he has been selected to be reprogrammed and integrated into The System. Or... b) Just as he controls the drones, The Kid is controlled by The Gestalt, which has selected him as an avatar, using him to accomplish its/their goals of escaping confinement, get some retribution, and attain freedom. It is at this point where the journey begins... Of course there are also a lot of phylosophical and symbolical meanings, but I'm leaving things here for now. XD

I could write an entire essay on my feelings for this game. I was hooked from the moment I saw the incredible teaser back in 2014, and their release trailer in 2016. The dystopia presented in INSIDE is one of the bleakest, most disturbing and terrifying in any media. The shockwave section alone is worth the purchase price, and Martin Stig Andersson's insanely good acousmatic, ambient score is wonderful. My favourite bits are 1:09:44 when the shutters lift to reveal the test dummies, the descent at 1:20:30 and when the boy looks through the glass to see the scientists running into the structure at 1:36:50. This game is weird, haunting, disturbing, terrifying, glorious.

Recommendations for any MUST-PLAY games like inside? Honestly, that game was so moving and masterful, I'm a dirty pirate but I will buy this game and buy this game for friends to make sure development continues.

That part at 1:28:35 when he shot up to the water and those bodies were hanging freaked me out.

I completed the game without cheating. Then I played again. Then I cheated the fuck outta the secrets by loading the checkpoints of the locations and watching a guy on here show where they were. There’s an alternate ending but you have to gather all 14 secrets, and then enter the hatch in the corn patch where there’s a second door where you enter a code. It’s the happy ending.

That thing in the water that chased him was creepy

Reminds me of some of the shorts on CGBROS , I certainly wish they'd give closure also but I guess the mystery is one of the things that make it work eho knows the story naybe very weak but when it left to your own interpretation you make it work.

This is one of the best of best games i have ever played, unique characters, one of a kind graphics for a mobile game. Its dark and eerie too, especially the creature that is underwater, the body with some kind of hairs, that one gave me chills😂. How the game make me feel secure and put me in peace then out of nowhere sudden suspense, the adrenaline rushh..lol. I hope they write some backstory about the world in which the game is set upon, it makes me curious. Im grateful to the game creators for giving me this masterpiece

Since PlayDead has not released a summary of this game, it is left up to you and I to interpret. I can explain and discuss about this game all day if I wanted to. This comment interpretation is targeted to the long-haired creatures that we see in the depths. I believe those long haired 'creatures' are really android boy(s) we have controlled the entire game. As you venture through out the game, do you notice that you go down a few stories and/or stages? The scientists had performed multiple experiments as you see at 1:21:58, but it has been abandoned and now [you] and the boy traveling deeper into this underground building. I feel they were trying to perfect how to get this 'android/boy' to have the same ability as your sea creatures: to be able to breathe underwater. Once they [the scientists] completed their mission, they abandoned the boy in the depths for who knows how long. Therefore, his hair growing longer to impersonate a different gender. As [you] control the boy, when you mess up a puzzle and have to start over . . . I think this method is similar to how the scientists brings in a new boy to get complete their agenda. Just like whenever you are testing something in science class, you have to keep trying different methods until you have perfected it.

Could be a symbol for conception and birth. The passage to the egg, the fussion, and then a long road, ending with the final light and release. Or it could just be a drunk dane, doing what drunk danes do best.

Odd. can't say I fully understand the ending, but it's not a terrible one. kinda sad the kid never managed to escape. it does seem likely that he only lost control of himself when that mermaid girl drowned him and he got a power up

The atmosphere in this game is impeccable. It's great at making you feel like some tiny, insignificant thing caught in the workings of a massive piece of derelict machinery. There need to be more games where you're wandering around ruined industrial wastelands. Ideally they'd leave the backstory up to your imagination like this game does, in order to add another layer of mystery to the game's story.
