This makes me feel like a kid again. This is the kind of stuff I used to do 20 years ago in melee with my brother and friends. 1v1s on corneria on the right side, temple battles on the little platform at the bottom, etc. Thank you GG Melee, this was a really fun video and I love all the content you guys are providing for the Melee scene :) Also shoutouts to Zeke he's a legend. CO misses him though!
Y’all should commission a custom stage/game mode for this. Like you did for the multiplayer adventure mode. This would be the next volleyball for sure.
I think my favorite thing about this category of melee is seeing unique gamestates where having a character like kirby is actually valuable and then n0ne can go "oh shit kirby's actually fire???"

this was awesome, great game mode im gonna be stealing for my friendly sessions lmao. one potential rule change or alternate format, it'd be cool if instead of needing to SD after touching the floor it turns into the supporter needing to close out the stock on their side. like the team mate in the ring cant go to the outside, and vice versa, but just to make it more engaging for the supporter and add some tension, might be a good separate game mode :)
If they do tenkaichi again maybe try using the in game timer to start fighting every fifth or tenth place on the timer, 55, 50, 45, ect. Could maybe help them start fighting in sync better on netplay :o
Changes the rules to allow the inside players touch outside but still SD for outside players touching inside, then it would probably be more combo oriented instead of “cheap” and get up attack SDs. Awesome idea, and I think it could be even better :)
40 minute video!?!!? Congrats on pushing something this size out! If I may give some feedback, I think the audio was a little low for this video, but otherwise great content as always!!
Hey, the way you are playing seems pretty fun, it would be interesting as an actual game mode like the voleyball one. But really, the whole platform figther could use it´s gameplay style much better to have game modes like these as part of the standard game modes in each platform fighter game, game modes like voleyball, this one, the ones from brawlhalla like capture the flag, football, or the ones from nickelodeon all stars or slap city like the soccer one or slapball could be pretty good game modes, not only for competitive players, but casuals alike, i hope modders, as well as developers some day (because they don´t take notice for it to be an standard. sadly) take notes and make modes like that a standard, but hell, rollback netcode isn´t even a standard yet...it will be a while. And also, as a personal note, i think the next big thing to implement is tag team as of changing the characters at will type of tag team, i mean, the cartoon network game was capable of pulling that off a long time ago, i think it could here as well or in the future platform fighters, and it would also make the game much more deep in regards of strategy (since every character has his own life and stock, altought there are many ways this could be pulled off).
i will laugh my ass off if the melee community figures items online before nintendo even has good online...and it´s already laughable, but really, the melee community is the ultimate (no pun intended) community, and not to offend any fgc only type of guy, but hey, nothing comes close to the unity that is the melee community!
