Surprised not to see any Eastern European players like Peja Stojakovic in this list, these dudes had to endure an entire civil war. Serge Ibaka and espexially D.J Mbenga as well since he went to jail because his dad was a political prisoner in Congo. Also, my inner Filipino made me scratch the walls during the Jeremy Lin section.
Just straight up inspirational! No matter what situation your in, as long you put your mind and work to it(ofc you prob need talent for it too) anythings possible
ibaka would have been a better player to focus on or even siakam over embiid as their stories are more improbable. ibaka came from a poor family, lost his mom young, his dad had to take care of a large family and he got a girl pregnant while he was young. siakam was raised in poverty in africa, never played basketball, lost his dad who's biggest dream was for his son to make the nba and he dominated.
As a fan of this channel, I would like to respectfully ask that you reconsider the way certain athletes are sometimes portrayed. Everyone has a past, and you don't need to highlight the low points of someone's life in order to recognize their journey to success. Peace
