Hello Dark Mother... Can I make a suggestion/request for future streams? (I'll assume you replied affirmatively) I think you may like to try the game called Hades.
I was curious about Corporal Dumas so looked him up. According to Wikipedia, Thomas-Alexandre Dumas is the illegitimate son of Alexandre Dumas junior, who wrote La Dame Aux Camelias. Thomas-Alexandre was born in Haiti, which probably explains the overseas journey he mentioned.
If you're curious, there are actually 3 relatively famous Alexandre Dumas (yeah it doesnt make it easy)... The one in the game is the eldest, he was a military officer during revolutionary wars, and his mother was a slave, hence his black skin... His son (Alexandre Dumas père) was a writer (he wrote plays and stuff like "the count of monte-christo")... And his grand-son (the previous's son) was ALSO a writer... And thats the one who wrote La Dame aux Camélias... Honestly its kinda uncomprehensible so i dont blame you for misunderstanding !
@@antoineaublin3812 Ohh right, it makes sense now I look at the dates! I had the order wrong - thought Thomas-Alexandre’s grandson was actually his dad lol. Part of what threw me off was that in the game, the corporal refers to his dad’s good name so I linked that to him being a well-known author - but it turns out his dad was a marquess and that is why the name carried weight.
@@sams1982 exactly ! it carried favor among the aristocrats ! He's definitely an interesting figure haha, for a long time he remained the highest ranking black military officer in Europe's history.
She has big "working in customer service for so long that it breaks your spirit and you don't even lose energy from faking cheerfullness anymore" vibes, except even worse.
Pro-tip: ALWAYS ask "the help" about the kind of snakes you're dealing with before you go to a party full of snakes 🤦🏾♀️ You silly, country girl 😂! lol jk, do you, boo 😘!
Corporal Dumas would go on to be a high-ranking general and had a fair amount of derring-do in his career. There's a really good movie to be made about him. His son was Alexandre Dumas who would go on to write 'The Three Musketeers' trilogy and 'The Count of Monte Cristo' among many others. Talented family!
If you do Marquis de Sade: back in 2015 the Musée d’Orsay did a phenomenal exhibit about his influence curated by Annie Le Brun, Attaquer Le Soleil. The official exhibit book under the same name is great (though all in French) and may be worth checking out just to see the collection of art that made up the exhibit. Also, it looks like Le Brun has a work on Sade translated into English: Sade: A Sudden Abyss.
@@dyoopiter you know, people who just come in saying "my whole family died in a fire 2 months ago and i havent felt happy since"... Like what do they want us to say or think?
Sure they do, but like… have you no sympathy? When you defund social services and these people have no one to reach out to, it seems incredibly cruel to blame them for reaching out - even if they completely misjudged.
@@theanarkiddie4569I'm late to this party but in the spirit of 18th century bourgeois Parisian society I guess I have some sympathy but overwhelmingly feel like 'girl pick your moment'
i admire them addint chemise a le reine my fave of all of marie's outfits. Tho atleast keep to the fashion period, early roccoco fashion was VERY different to late rococco
There's a great biography of General Alexandre Dumas by Tom Reiss called "The Black Count." When the BBC did their great version of The Musketeers a few years back, the actor Howard Charles modelled his portrayal of Porthos on the General.
I don't understand. I'm on my phone all of the time, and I have the bell rung on this channel, and I NEVER get notifications that you're streaming 😭 RU-vid, do better.
Kinda sad that Nyatalie chose burgeoise... But as a Philosophy graduate student with Political philosophy focus I can understand... Nevertheless. Does anybody know if there is a similar game just for your standard cishet male? I am extremely basic in this regard sadly... xDDD
