I feel like 2016 and eternal do as well, with the big bulky armour and all. Although the marine doesn't walk like he has a refrigerator strapped to him
Doom 3 in 3rd person actually looks good because the camera isn't behind Doomguy's head, but over the shoulder (almost like it was made for 3rd person perspective). is that a mod?
Doom 1 & 2: walk like you have a numbness leg Doom 64: rolling skate while you shoot Doom 3: actually Good Doom 2016: it's OK Doom Eternal: Speedy Gonzales
Wonder why the demons fear him so much? Imagine being an imp just ripping apart a weak human's insides but suddenly the Slayer runs at you faster then Usian Bolt with a chainsaw revved up
I don’t see how that’s relevant. The Halo games, especially Halo 3 and onwards look amazing as third person games. You can get an over the shoulder view on the theatre mode and the animations look fluid and smooth that it almost looks like it was designed for third-person
@@tuomasgaming4210 I'm pretty sure the original ones he shows are PK3s and not console commands, i doubt there was a thirdperson console command in GZDoom
Doom 3 looks amazing because they put actual animations for the characters when using his weapons. Everytime i see my character in the mirror i would spend a minute or two cycling through all the animations of reloading, punching, shooting and i always wondered how the game would look in third person. It looks amazing.
Saturn sucks. It is the worst planet ever, it’s made out of gas and eventually the rings you have will crash into you. There is no point for it to exist; only there for no reason at all.
@Starscream91 So... I don't like Doom 3 because I'm a fake Doom fan that started in Doom 2016, a game that plays more like Doom 1, 2 and 64 than like Doom 3. Great point.
Really makes you appreciate how conscious they were about the last two Doom games and aware of what made them work. Third person Doom 3 and Doom 3 VR just shows how close they were to doing something great.
@@austinhuber3131 Yeah. Unforunately Carmack is a Super Computer. Which means he didn't make games to make games. He made games to show off his latest invention to move video games forward another 5 or 6 years. Which is good. But sad.
It is mod. If you register a third-person view in the console , then the camera will be behind the head and there will be no interface. And also the author put some sounds from alpha 0.02😊😊
@@jpebrz No no, I mean as an option. The game is still thougth to be an FPS, but with the chance to play in third person if you please. Like the classic weapon pose option or the classic sounds.
@@jpebrz that's not really the same thing. There's little gameplay difference between a TPS and an FPS because they both have gameplay centered around strafe controls, with the primary difference being how the game seems to be designed based on what it expects you to see at all times (due to more visibility with a TPS). On the other hand, Mario as an FPS is a completely different style altogether. That shouldn't rule out an option with a mod
If you did have a headset there is software that renders non VR games in VR. One I use is VorpX www.vorpx.com/ I did it with Bioshock and Alien Isolation.
@@Coresixth the command console's purpose is for devs to test the game for bugs and other stuff which is why most games require you to edit files or insert a code to access it so ,yes, third person is a cut feature since it's not an option a player can choose from a menu but something you have to use cheats to unlock
No, the main reason Doom 3 looks best in third person is because that’s how the mirrors in that game worked. A lot of older games simulated mirrors by essentially making the mirror another rendered room, and then insert a third person player model into said room to make it look like a reflection. Of course, since as far as the game is concerned, the player is actually just a camera with floating arms, so the third person model is an entirely separate entity. That’s why the developers could make the animations look good, but at the same time, you’ll notice the animations don’t 100 align with the first person animation. Some games actually do basically have an entire third person character model with full body render that you just see in first person, like FEAR 1 or Duke Nukem Forever, and those games do have the animations for both the first and third person cameras match.
It’s strange how 2016 swaps to first person for the glory kills. They’re animated to be seen in third person, so seeing it jolt back in to first person is jarring
Me too bro. I expect a release date and more revelations about the Doom Lore! example: We have already defeated Icon of Sin. Will we finally kick Dark Lord's butt, the supreme ruler of the realm of Hell?
Doom 64 is great, Doom 3 is a good reboot of Doom 1, don't let people sway you away from it, put some headphones on and play it in the darkest room possible.
@@PRIME_StrengthStill,that doesn't changes the fact that doom 3 was the best graphic game of that year, remember gta san Andreas came out in the same year and it looked a lot worse than doom 3.
thanks bro. Glad you liked! yeah Doom 3 and 2016 is awesome, but it’s a pity that 3rd person mode in Doom 2016 only works in snapmap mode (the single player uses a model with strange textures and few animations)
whys everyone so surprised by doom 3 being the best one to play in third person? survival horror games generally are in third person, the first person aspect is kinda weird for the genre. plus, because doom 3 has mirrors in some areas, all the weapons and movement has to be properly modelled and animated for the main game itself, not as just extra polish for multiplayer, since everyone will end up seeing it.
Seeing Doom 1 and 2 being played with filtered textures, feels, wrong lol. Dude, the way Doomguy sometimes strafes left and right in Doom 3 looks pretty damn good holy shit, the Slayer just looks sad when he does it.
No joking, DooM 3 looks even better as horror-shooter with ThirdPerson. P.S: Now with seeing Doomguy's Fast animations and your dodging skill it feels like a normal DooM game.
Doomguy is so cool. The only he reason he can stand against the armies of hell is because he is faster, more relentless than they are. And he has nothing left to lose, which means the demons can’t wear down his will
soo that's why doom 3 has such wide and tall hallways, maybe the 3rd person was a cheat, alternate play mode, or a easter egg?, would make more sense as too why the hallways are that way
This is the gameplay option that id-Software should’ve included in their games, like how Capcom should’ve given the FPS-mode option to Biohazard/Resident Evil.
