Doom3guy: Oh, an opponent. I shall stand here, in my fighting stance, fists raised, ready to defend myself... Doomslayer: *RINGO-RANGO LET’S GET READY TO TANGO!*
Doom Slayer is a chad, but we gotta give the Doom 3 marine some appreciation, hes not a demigod, he is just a normal human and yet he went through hell and was mostly fearless towards demons like he's seen them in a grocery store before.
Doom slayer has been through more than the doom marine though. He was a normal human in doom 1, 2 and 64 (Its been confirmed just to let you know), and he only got his demigod powers in between 64 and 2016
Lets all take a moment to appreciate that these weapons which were clearly designed by the average human for the average human are impractically sized for said average human- but are conveniently perfect for The Slayer.
@@morinor1340 Ballista is meant for Night Sentinels so it'd probably be fine. That would apply to the Gauss, however. Also not directly to you, but: the Eternal SSG was designed specifically for the Slayer.
Doom 3 guy: I don’t really care about killing demons. Doom 4 and 5 guy: LEMME PUT ALL MY ENERGY INTO MY STANCE Edit: Thanks for so many likes!! Never gotten so many haha
It was big at the time for a product of its time until It’s doom 2016/Doom eternal counterpart came out,Plus I think that’s how big the BFG would be if it was made cause as much as I love the newer versions of it more then the doom 3 version it’s big to the point where it’s ridiculous and hard for a person to carry
@@ebonkinght well to be fair the 2016/Eternal version isn't meant to be used like that 2016 one was an experimental prototype that wasn't past the test stages, and Eternal one was literally just the receiver for an artillery gun
@@SirWhitez both doom and doom 2 where intended to be horror games due to limitations and the metal soundtrack people mistook it as a run in gun action paced game. So basically doom 3 is what they might have intended to be
@@ChakLok Nah, Doom 64 was more what they intended. Doom 64 has the fast action pace but is noticeably darker and the soundtrack is way more ambience than the previous games and is way more creepy and chilling. The problem with Doom 3 isnt the horror its the fact that it borrows too much from half life.
Doom 3 is the absolute best doom 3!! The chainsaw was an actual weapon in doom 3, instead of whatever the hell is was supposed to be in 2016, and eternal.
@@SolidRaiden2655 Doom3 came out shortly before Half Life 2 and considering what that game did for the industry, I think it's logical but unfortunate how much Doom3 was overlooked. It's a solid game.
It may look tiny compared too the slayers minigun but it packs a punch firing 30 caliber armor piercing ammunition at a steady rate of fire. Considering the UAC built them for use against human targets the chaingun rips ass on demons.
I now realize that he made the Eternal SSG on Argent De Nur and the Doom 2 SSG was distroyed by the demons or taken from him in some way. I had originally thought that Doom Guy had taken the Doom 2 one and added the Meat Hook and other stuff
Doom 3's "Doomguy" looks like he was made out of tinfoil, what the *hell* Edit: wow this is still getting replys! I totally forgot I was this stupid. Well I recently finished playing the campaign of Doom 3 (DLC'S too), and well gotta say, that was fantastic! I loved the level design, oh and the demons, they were, well terrifying to say the least, in a good way tho! I do still think the graphics could have done better, but honestly, they made the game more scary. Well I did learn a valuable lesson today, you should never judge the book because of it's cover
@@leonardoetc3565 yeah you're right, it's not really about the gameplay, but the graphics are really outdated even for it's time, but hey, that's just an my opinion, A GAME OPINION! (Sorry, had to)
@Herr Nero von Schwarz you know what? You're kinda right! Although I remember other shooters on the Xbox/Xbox 360 having better graphics, also when they re-realesed Doom 3 to Xbox one, I thought they would have made the texture quality a bit better, I mean, Banjo-Kazooie did that too, so is Conker! Although they are other types of games, but what I'm trying to say is that there were bigger games at the time with better graphics. But what do I know, I might be wrong 🤷🏻♂️
@@minebuild1791 Doom 3 graphics were considered state-of-the-art for its time. I mean, it still doesn't look too bad, atleast not ugly, especially in first person. Especially considering that it came out 17 years ago
I personally really like the doom 4 and 5 idle animations. The jumpy ness and anticipation in the slayers movements makes it look like he’s ready to kill a demon at a moments notice.
Maybe. But the shotgun there is ridiculously, unrealistically shitty. Do not hope to one-shot even a weakest enemy, except when your target is in a pointblank range. And if further than 5 meters? Abandon your hope.(
You basically nailed it. Doom 3 is a realistic version and story of the original Doom, Doomguy is not some beefed up super warrior that can defeat armies of hell, but a normal soldier. However I still love the superhero feel Doomguy has in Eternal and 2016 tbh.
Doom 3 marine has the almost dis-interested look at him in all times, even in cut scenes. Guess he seen some real stuff that makes Demon invasions look like kindergarten.
@@yeahitsjj8121**edit - i see what you mean now** ~~no, that is - the stock is actually on his shoulder if you look closely, and you do hold it that high, especially when aiming down a optic or scope. - the doom eternal plasma rifle is a bit exagerated, and that wouldnt work.~~
I love how Doom 3’s weapons are all pip squeak small weapons that he still has to carry with two hands and then in doom 2016 and Eternal they go back to being comically big, almost bigger than the Doom Slayer himself
Give him a fucking break. D3 Marine had to make do with standard issue armor and still kicking ass. Unlike D2016 Slayer and his hell-forged plot armor of god.
Richter Belmont the dm3 marine has plot armour as well, how was he the only man to survive the demon onslaught and how did he survive long enough to beat the cyber demon
@@jagtech490 he wasn't the only one, lol. There was a bunch of other people surviving, though a lot of them were just scientists and civvies. A bunch of military guys suvived too, as seen throughout the game, but died eventually
@@jagtech490 The doom Marine is special in some way, because we see lost souls attempt too possess him throughout the game multiple times and he shrugs it off like no problem. That's why they resort to bites and dashes to kill him since they can't possess him.
I’ve gotta admit Doom 2016 has some baller weapon designs, but I understand why people like Eternals weapons more since they’re closer to the original designs
Imo I like the doom 2016 plasma rifle and chain gun because the plasma rifle look's more better than the blocky design doom eternal has and the chain guns mechanical design looks better in my honest opinion
Doom Marine is so calm, I bet he didn't even manage to grab himself a morning cup of coffee when Hell broke out on Mars. And Doom Slayer should lay off the coffee, like, seriously
Something I just now realized is genuinely impressive is that the Doom3 Marine does practice *some* gun safety. He keeps his finger off the trigger on the super shotgun and aims certain weapons like the submachinegun toward the ground.
Doom 3 Marine: keeps chill and literally punches brains out. Doom Eternal "Slayer": Super Mario with hyperactivity disorder, needs 200 punches to kill a single zombie. Rrrright...
The only reason Eternal is like that is because it wants to focus on the gun gameplay, since there is so much ammo, you dont need to do a punch, plus Blood punch is also in the game. Shooting funny gun is more fun then punch anyway lol
So I’m a pretty good game that was hated by most of the fanbase but is still good for younger kids that has played doom 1 2 and 64 and 2016 and eternal
Doom 3 guy looks most realistic about how I would carry a 2 ton alien gun with 30 pound armor on me and fighting non stop for 16 hours straight lol btw love doom 3
Has anyone ever notice that in cutscenes the weapons in doom eternal seems to be smaller yet when in third person the weapons seems to be in the right size especially the crucible.
hey leo, it is possible to export the animations of the monsters into .fbx?? if you know how, please contact me also... i just updated the mod with fire arms and new content
All weapons from eternal are way better than Doom 3 or Doom 2016, but I got used to design of plasma rifle of 2016. This is my favorite design, and gauss cannon.
He upgrades his suit in The Fortress of Doom sometime in between 2016 and Eternal. If you go to his room you can see parts of the 2016 suit sitting on a table being worked on alongside some other items from Doom 2016.
Doom3 Guy:"Alright, I need to be careful. I might die so I'm gonna put up a defensive stance." DooMSlayer: *"IM SINGLE! AND READY TO MANGLE DEMON BONES!!"*
I think the most courageous out of all 3 of them is doom 3 marine. Why? Well, without being basically a demigod, without a praetor suit that protects the user from almost everything, and not anger but fear. He repelled the hell invasion.
Thanks for sharing these differences! Never noticed some aspects: 1) it's incredible how much detail id put in models back in 2004, it's imo more outstanding than the amount of detail they put in doom 2016 comparing times/technology 2) doom3 marine animations were a lot more credible than DOOM 2016 / Eternal (idle animation for Eternal seems more like a Let's Get Physical workout session by Dua Lipa) 3) doom 3 weapons looked a lot more realistic imo in the hands of a normal character than DOOM 2016 / eternal one. I mean, plasma gun is quite ridiculous in size in Eternal I'm personally not a fan of new Doom series, but never understood why. Probably it's the complete change of direction in the way player faces demons. In Doom I, Doom II and Doom3, you were a fragile human that tried not to get devoured by flesh eating creatures, in DOOM reboot it seems quite the opposite: the marine is kinda looking for some demons to kill. Anyway, seeing sales report of new franchise, doing that change probably has been the right decision to make! :D
1:55 Doom 3: I got this dopeass shotgun. Doom 16: Mine is longer tho. Doom Eternal: Peasants. Mine has a fucking grappling hook. edit: The other two if they all met: It has a *w h a t*
Speaking of weapons tho, I'm kinda disappointed with Doom 3 release shotgun. In E3 trailer or some beta version trailed it looked better and had good sounds to it. Also, I may have missed something, but was there a Doom 3 flashlight in the video?
We can all agree that doom guy/doom slayer are badasses. But can we all just take a moment to reflect on Doom 3's chad marine doing his fair share of blasting and slashing with so much less.
DooM eternal plasma rifle is actually larger then doomslayer Edit: nearly as large and I mean like stand the plasma rifle up so it is vertical it is about as tall as him a bit smaller most likely.
Jesus christ, the minigun for 2016, the plasma rifle for Eternal, and both of their BFG's are big as hell the trio can bust another hole to Mars so much so making Hayden disconnect himself
Doom 3 weapons all the way. Great models, decent sound effects, punchy feel & fantastic reload animations. Doom 2016's weapons felt weak with no punchy feel to it, horrible sound effects & the models look very generic & bland. Still fun to play but could've been five times better if those things improved. Super shotgun, especially suffers from that. Eternal slightly improved based on those flaws but not by much. Classic plasma rifle returns, so that's a plus but again, the sound design makes it feel like I'm firing a toy gun.
