A prime example was the Churchill tank with crocodile mod, the crocodile mod was basically the cannon was turned into a flamethrower that can reach targets a fair old distance away. Used primarily to burn out resistance fighting from hardpoints, for example from pillboxes or concrete bunkers. It was also a great tool for burning through vegetation if they ever suspected enemy hiding in wooded areas

there were several types of rifle grenades for the M1 garand and springfield rifle. this included a normal handgrenade, an HE grenade, a smoke grenade and anti-tank grenade.

It's a common fact that in WW 2 more grenades were thrown, than shots were fired. (at least according to veteran mode)

Call Of Duty 1 and 2 (I don't remember 3 well enough) are even worse with using grenades. The worst times I had was when I had a "defend your position" objective but if I tried to find any good positions to defend I would get obnoxiously rapid fire, inescapable grenades spam. It was like a message telling me "yeah you're playing objective but not the way WE want you to do it"

You just have to keep moving, that’s all. Run from cover to cover, shoot anyone in front of you, keep moving forward. Don’t wait around for them to throw grenades. When they start throwing grenades you’re basically already dead, might as well restart from the checkpoint.
