For most Demon Slayers, I usually go Monk6/Ranger14; Kensei/Monster Slayer at. It covers most of their basic abilities, plus Rangers have access to Searing Smite and Ashardalon's Stride. Which are perfect for Flame/Sun Breathing.
Though that's entirely viable, there are always tons of ways to build any one character. I try to focus on the roleplay aspects and ways to make the build unique more than just summarizing them. That's definitely something that'd work well though!
Fighter, Monk, and sometimes Ranger is a good build for any Demon Slayer. A better build would be this: *Race* - Variant Human still (so you can get the tough feat right away). *Class* - Ranger (Monster Slayer Subclass) + Monk (Way of the Kensei Subclass). (You can also put 1 or 2 levels in fighter for second wind.) You can even pick Fiends to hunt (thanks to Monster Slayer), which are basically demons in dnd. Monster Slayer Ranger allows you to track down Fiends/Demons. You can also give others disadvantage on magic or interrupt their magic. You even gain some spells like Banishment (which is good for fighting demons). Just Banish those Fiends back to Hell. Way of the Kensei Monk would be just like in the video. It’s a great fighting class/subclass. Also, a longsword could be your monk weapon. Since if you use a finesse or versatile weapon you can do an additional unarmed strike as a bonus action. You can’t do this with bigger swords.
Thank you very much! The newest build vote just went up on Patreon if that's of interest. You're also free to make requests! Yeah, such an amazing character. The amount of hearts he managed to grab within the manga and movie both in such a short amount of time really says alot.
Love the video, but one little thing, though it doesn't matter much. It's said by the author the effects are actually there and visible, however they aren't actually what they look like (Ex. Water breathing doesn't create actual water. It's kind of just energy that's there supposedly, they didn't elaborate further though. All we do know is that yes, they are actually there).
Yup! I'm aware there's "something" there, for instance Zenitsu creates something akin to vibrations in the air. I was just meaning that he technically doesn't "literally" make fire. But you know, rule of cool. :P
I think a longsword is a bit more fitting, and as a kensei monk or using dedicated weapon, it can use dexterity, and I think that great weapon fighting may be better as rengoku fights with two hands, not one. And also, the demon slayer corps uniform are made of a unique material that makes them extra durable, so they could be armour if you want to, maybe leather armour. In that way, you could rely on less stats if you want to skip on monk
There's always dozens of ways to make any one character after all! If I were a DM I'd make the cloth armor itself magic for a monk, or make the "studded leather" gambeson-esc if they wanted to be more strength based. Always plenty of options, that's why the videos exist to inspire! Thanks for the comment!
I disagree about elements just being a visual effect. Rengokus flames leave scorch marks and the spider demon says she can feel the rain from tanjiros attack. Tanjiro says he heard thunder when zenetsu does his thunder breathing deeper in the forest
Welcome to disagree, that makes it much easier to make the build. You can take the *numerous* elemental effect spells instead for fire, boy howdy are there plenty! Thanks for the comment!
Just saying this for the sake of demon slayer lore, that the visual effects like the flame, water, lightning are all not real. Just visual representation of the techniques they use and possibly what they imagine when using their said techniques. But all those can be and/or are explained. Like water doesn’t literally come out of his katana, and the 5th form kill, the mother spider demon says it “feels warm,” then likened the feeling to a “gentle spring rain,” but she didn’t literally feel any raindrops. Rengoku moves so fast and the friction beneath his feet scorches the ground, and Zenitsu, whenever he steps or launches from the ground using the technique, it makes the sound of thunder. Also, the vibrations that the spider feels fighting Zenitsu was his leg muscles vibrating. But you can tweak the character and stuff however you want in D&D of course.
Man, the FF series has a very expansive story and charismatic characters that make you laugh and cry a lot, the story of 7 is the richest in details and twists, and one of my favorites, 6 is one of the ones that have the story that most caught my attention since magic is literally on the verge of extinction and magicians are rare , start with what you like as each FF has a unique story !
Thanks for the comment as always! A sheet would be a bit clunky. Fixed HP is just the average of a roll though. Otherwise you just roll the hit die. Maybe I'll make a series for the basics of character creation. Could be helpful!
I'm not sure on the Plaenshift supplement, as I only use "standard and approved" stuff, basically what's available as non-homebrew on D&D beyond. So I'll have to research into that. But! I'll definitely keep putting up Alucard on the patreon list. It's been up a few times but hasn't managed to win one just yet!
That'd certainly be interesting! I see alot of bard and sorcerer in my future for that one, we'll see what I can put together if the patrons vote on it!
@@loststarstudios1648 It hasn't been voted for by my patrons, unfortunately! That's one of their benefits is getting to decide the pacing on such things, apologies! Hopefully soon!
As always there hundreds of ways to make a character, but I never use items or make any assumptions a DM will give you anything. Especially since when I DM I use none of the standard magical items lol. Hope you enjoyed the video!
@@stevengriffithkyo23 I'll be careful, but thankfully I don't really mind perverse or adult topics/visuals lol. As long as they aren't the main drive behind the story at least.
