I can’t relate, it’s summer all year round where I live, but cold hands do not seem like much fun especially if you do indeed need to play violin 5. I will not ever tire of saying this: Brett playing any excerpt of the Tchaikovsky violin concerto will never fail to make my day. The fact that "Love" was the emotion he got with it is just the cherry on top. And he played it so gorgeously! I wish he didn't have to stop playing.

Eddy was playing actually an emotion of fear, like the feeling in the heart, how the music sounds, something in the direction of horror movies, and Brett and Hilary were expecting Eddy to sound like a musician who has stage fright

Loved it! I got my violin yesterday, after 50 years of not touching one. I feel that my playing will be a mixture of fear and frustration (on my part) and disgust (from anyone in earshot) for a very long time!

This is great! I give my piano students a pack of emoji cards. They pick one and play an exercise, scale, or section of a piece with that feeling. This really helps them to develop playing with heartfelt expression. There is nothing worse than mechanical, robotic, soulless music. It also helps them discover the technique that is connected to the sound.

Hilary 100% missed an opportunity to just belt out the Joy theme from Symphony 9 when she got Beethoven and Joy haha

Brett’s Tchaikovsky + Love he looked so in love of the violin and music in general, flowers almost rained on him

This is kinda difficult because I think the emotion is written into the piece itself and if trying to convey a different one, they have to use facial expression or body language if they don't change up tempo or some other aspect of the playing. Or if they're deadpan (which they should be!) they'd have to have a wide repertoire and choose some part of a piece that already conveys the given emotion for it to be obvious.
