Today we'll play some fun covers of the most popular (and over-used) No Copyright RU-vid background music. You've heard these songs many times in your favorite vlogs and channels.
The music is all composed by the same person, Kevin MacLeod, so this is my tribute to his amazing skills.
The keyboards used for these performances are KORG i3 MUSIC WORKSTATION and YAMAHA PSR SX900 ARRANGER WORKSTATION, the flagship PSR arranger derived from the YAMAHA GENOS.
You'll get to hear many of the styles and sounds of these piano synthesizer keyboards in action.

I loved your tribute to Kevin Macleod. I enjoyed what you played in this video. What you demonstrated in this video is that you can play the same music that you hear on TikTok or other social media platforms on either an arranger or synthesizer. Thanks 👍🏼👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼

Thank you Woody. An interesting and entertaining video. I'm sure you know the venerable (UK) BBC had a mission to educate. You have certainly achieved that: now I know it's rude in Swedish to listen (höra). I also knew the name Kevin MacLeod from creator software - excellent tracks, but you inspired me to (Wikipedia) learn more. Great job - Don

Thank you for your videos, I've learned a great deal from your electribe 2 tutorials. I wrote you the same message in an older video of yours.. I wanted to ask you a question unrelated to this video: I have a pattern I created on My Electribe 2, once the pattern is playing, for some reason the "master effects channel won't stay on, the "MFX hold" and "Master Fx" buttons light indicator are both lit, but the effected (delay) signal only stays on for four seconds then it fades away. I can turn on the "MFX hold" button OFF and quickly turn it back on and the effect turns on for four seconds then it fades away.. I did not set up any function for that to happen, it just suddenly did. I've looked in the menu section of the unit but I have been unsuccessful in finding a solution. So my question is, is there a solution to that problem? Thank you

They’re such reconizable tunes and are very catchy. It seems like everybody and their grandmother uses them. The first one is often used on cat video channels such as Cole and Marmalade and such (probably because of the mischievous feel it portrays such as the playfullness of a cat), the third tune I reconize from a channel called “don’t shoot the rabbit”. Both keyboards sound equally good, they both pull off some nice pizzicato sounds.

I think a good middle-ground between this Korg i3 and Yamaha PSR-SX900 would be the Korg PA700, or even the PA1000, both more expensive than the i3 but cheaper than the SX900. I have owned the PA1000 and that was one hell of an arranger (and the PA700 is equally impressive, only missing out on a few features), but due to time constraints, I had to sell it (now concentrating on just piano ;-). But nice video nonetheless !

Using the built in styles is okay....but programmable arrangers are the most powerful pattern sequencers on the market. I bought the Casio MZ-X500 for the pattern sequencer, I don't have to use the internal sounds, the sequence can go out to eight hardware synths. I will never use any of the style presets because they don't fit the composition and just get in the way. The real POWER comes when you program a style from scratch specifically for your own composition. 8 tracks - up to 32 measures long - in any time signature even 7/8s or 5/4s - quantize from zero to 1/32 + trips - 6 variations and 4 fills per saved registration, but you can shift on the fly to another registration for dozens more. It took a while to research them all.... but I found one of the greatest and fastest to program sequencers on the market.
@WoodyPianoShack
@WoodyPianoShack 3 года назад
yes, i've heard some incredible styles by 3rd party programmers. i've investigated a bit and found it quite a tedious process to do onboard, it's a shame that there are no good PC editors for this task.
@WildernessMusic_GentleSerene
@WildernessMusic_GentleSerene 3 года назад
@@WoodyPianoShack This is why I chose the Casio, the preset sounds are not the greatest (you have to edit and design your own) but the pattern sequencer is a joy to use. Programming the arranger pattern specific for each of my songs has been a fabulous creation tool. Play a different chord and the entire 8 tracks follow you...for on the spot listening pleasure of chord progressions. (note: the Casio is only a part of my entire studio, I use many keyboards at the same time recording the entire song in one take on many tracks to be mixed down post tracking. One arranger a great song does not make :).

@@winddealer1 I understand the instant gratification that's associated with playing an arranger - I've been using workstations, arrangers, analog and VA synths for almost 30 years. I've also said nothing about removing the product type from the market. If companies spent time upgrading them to be more on par with what musicians expect, they would actually sell more of them. Flash memory is exceptionally cheap these days (unlike ROM chips of the 80s/90s), so there is no excuse for it. Additionally, let's be real here - in the modern age, no one should have to pay 2k for an arranger keyboard that has sounds that are so bad and out of date that you have to immediately just mute it all and route your MIDI to VSTs. This is not true of most of the big 4's flagships or even entry level workstations. You are normalizing garbage products and giving the keyboard companies more reasons to not evolve their arrangers.
@projectgoatse
@projectgoatse 3 года назад
@@winddealer1 If you want to be an idiot and basically re-buy the same product that was sold to you in the late 90s in a new shell, more power to you I guess. I'm also curious to know where you got your information on sales figures for the almighty Genos that is just tearing up the market and has made itself an industry leader. Oh wait, there isn't any publicly available. But thanks for your lesson on global markets. You also can't go to any Guitar Center or Sam Ash outside of NYC or LA to actually buy an arranger or try one out, because they don't keep them in stock. Because people don't buy them.

Yeah. Keyboard arrangers are expensive but sounds like shit!! For example the SX700 is 1499$ and MODX is 1299$ if we compare these too keyboard the sound of the SX is crap and just comes from the old discontinued Motif series while it is expensive than the MODX!! So unbelievable. No CFX, very horrible rhodes, old guitar sounds, just shitty old discontinued Motif sounds! To get the sounds of MODX in an arranger, Yamaha demands $3500 more.
