Playmobil Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Vehicle Video Review 

Not a huge fan of Playmobil, but this is a surprisingly good Ecto-1 toy

This seems like the best Ecto-1 toy since the original kenner Ecto-1

I Think this Toy looks amazing but there’s one thing that Bothers me from not Buying it. The Ecto 1 has 4 Bottom Head Lights not 6 that’s just my Inner Fan Talking but Come On

This is the only one of these sets I want because I'm not a big Ghostbusters fan, but I always thought the Ecto-1 looked cool plus it comes with my two favorite characters of Ghostbusters.

I love how that ECTO-1 car looks, a lot of people are going to buy it just becaus of that car. I am not really crazy about the figures but the car is done so well and right that i just have to get it. Looks way cool! Great review Dan, thanks for showing this.

if you call Playmobil they will ship you a replacement piece for free. I've bought hundreds of sets in my life, and I've had maybe 5 that were missing a piece.

OMG... this really looks so awesome and really cheap (157 Euro for the complete set). I will buy this one, because OMG this is really amazing and a great reminder to my childhood. How awesome is this! But you know, sometimes, I wish Playmobil would have made a playset from the first two TMNT movies. Golly, that would be fantastic! But hey, maybe we will see it one day, after all they made a Ghostbusters Classic set. Oh please, Playmobil... make it happen TuT

Playmobil are incredibly durable toys. Hopefully this is just the beginning of their licensing. A Playmobil Batmobile or X-Wing would be amazing!

Thank you for showing the playmobil ecto-1, this is my favorite topic, im a big fan ghostbusters geek since 1988, Fina;;y the ecto-1 has lights and siren, as you know too every ecto-1s in the past no functions at all, opening doors sure, some version do like the kenner ecto-1, cant wait to see more playmobil, did you picked up all the gb playmobil sets, and does your wife or son love the gb sets? Also everyone loves the firehouse set than ecto-1 because its a biggest set and lots of playing features in the firehouse and yet in can fit in the firehouse garage, is that cool? Oh by the way, did you already owned lego's gn firehouse o ectp-1 for 1984 and 2016? thanks PixelDan

And the lights flash in a sequence that simulates a rotator effect. Now I wish I bought this thing when I saw it in Walmart a few years back! Would have been nice to see the lights flash in the dark.

After all these years, FINALLY, Playmobil started embracing franchise brands!

I cannot overstate how much I LOVE this sucker! I'm definitely going to have to chase one down, as soon as funds permit. They captured the look, the sounds -- the whole shebang. It is simply amazing!

Asking for my birthday the ect 1 is very nice!

My 2 nitpicks are: there are 6 fog lights on the Ecto-1's bumper when there should only be 4 and they gave Winston James Brown's hair.

Hey Dan, could you put the proton blast into the hole in the trap? Would recreate the trap beam pretty well. ;)

Controversial this, but I always thought the Kenner Ecto 1 sucked! Felt so cheap, and even though it was Ecto 1 shaped, just wasn't convincing to an 11 year old GB fan. The awful way the "lights" were just a modification to the window plastic, no, just no. I got the Joyride 1:18th which is awesome, and I got a japanese collectible model too which is awesome, I will get this too, but so disappointed that it comes with Janine, instead of one of the others, bit cynical on playmobil's part, "buy the other toys in the range to get the correct figures" but hey. Really Janine should come with the firehouse. I'll get the range anyway, so yeah

I ordered one off eBay, and there’s a headlight missing on mine. I know you can contact Playmobil, but I can’t find one for Australia contact.

Great job on the review. These Playmobil Ghostbusters toys are really awesome. I hope we get other licensed properties besides the upcoming How to Train your Dragon toys.

Just like it except the 59 Cadillac does not have THREE BLUE signal lamps on the front bumper. Still, not exactly a deal breaker! It gives it a distinguishing look from other Ecto-1s.

Great that the proton packs fit in the back, but with these sets you'll be collecting FIVE Ghostbusters. Where does Janine's go?

Hey, I know this comment is 5 years late, but I just recently bought a second hand set just like this and, being second hand, it was missing several pieces. I got in touch with Playmobil customer support and gave them a list of all the parts I was missing, they sent all of them to me, free of charge. I live in the uk, so I don't know if things work the same for the US, but they seem on the whole to be great at getting missing parts sent out to customers, even if the customer has lost or broken the original parts themselves. So if the missing light is still an issue all this time later that would be my recommendation.

Front bumper looks wrong, wheelcovers from the wrong year Cadillac, hatchback should be a door and it’s a pity they didn’t do partially tinted glass. Otherwise they got the Miller Meteor shape very well, far better than Kenner did. Love the siren. Slime is a great touch. Janine’s an odd choice.

Anyone know what, if any, Ecto-1 looks okay displayed with the Mattel movie ghostbusters?

I’ve just received the ecto 1 a from mobile absolutely fantastic model, but mine was missing the 2 wing mirrors so I have emailed playmobil and they have sent them out in the post.

If you just got this set, you could improvise some dialogue between Winston and Janine. Those two never hang out much. "So, uh... what's up?" "Nothing much. You?" "Oh, you know, the same. Bustin' ghosts. The ush." "I hear ya."

I thought the sound would be like in 1st movie when they get out of garage to catch ghosts with movie soundtrack played exactly like in movie with all lights. Oh well... Also, as u can take.of whole roof, I expect detailed painting. Nice I felt it missed my expectations.

I just bought one of these the other night. I love it!! Mine came with extra parts. I had an extra headlight and extra hubcap and an extra door for the ghost trap. I wanted one before seeing your review. But after i seen the review it made me want one even more. So now i have one woo hoo!!

the pke meter can be placed on top of the roof. mine also came with five headlights and five clips for the ladder and hose.

I always preferred my Extreme Ghostbusters Ecto-1 toy. It looked so much better than the original. But this one has that beat.

I have this set, and I love it. The best-looking Ecto-1 I've seen yet!

It's rubbish don't buy it, it looks real cool, plus this guy makes it seem real easy to put together. Getting the wheels into the tires correctly I only managed to do once. Yes to one of them. The difficulty level of this is like one of those giant Games Workshop metal Battle Fleet Gothic Imperial Cruisers. Which was supposed to be a super glue job only, but in fact turned out to be green stuff and a metal pin drilled into the centre. But I can't do something like that on my kids new toy, it's just dangerous.

It's ok, Not perfect. The logo is not correct, the three areas that should be black aren't, the back door on Ecto isn't a hatch. it's supposed to open sideways and the doors should open. And for the price We shouldn't have to assemble it.
