Evening fella, it's funny this popped up in my feed today as I collected the same ps4 with same problem. Could please supply a link to the small ic that controlls the power on circuit that you replaced first.its at the 15 min mark if that helps.

Phill I’d recommend getting a ZD915 to clean them solder holes the sucker takes so long 😭 It’s also really good for through hole stuff.

Great vid. Out of curiosity where do you get the south bridge for the slim? 42g one. Got one that has a good tested power supply. Good buttons etc but does not do anything. Stone dead. I’ve removed south bridge, re balled it and put it back on but still dead. So thinking new south bridge time. Only ones I can find are around £35-40. Cheers

Try aliexpress mate, they're about £12 on there. Check the caps on the back of the board below the southbridge and you might find they're shorted :)

What for Ticket System do you Use?

I don't use a ticket system mate, most the consoles i repair are for other companies. Personally I just use a custom database

Nice work Phil. Can you help me with some information? I bought a ps4 slim from the local market. It boots and shows on the TV. It loos that I have been factory reset. But I cannot pass the setup screen when it needs to press the PS button. including was a nano controller (a wired transparent one with some red LED). Does the controller have to do with that? I read that unofficial controllers do that. I don't want to buy a DualShock 4 yet. but if that fixes my problem it would be nice to know. Thanks, man for the videos and i watch your live streams when i can.

Thanks buddy. To know for sure you'd need to check with a DS4, but if you have no controller sync in the dashboard but have controller sync when it's being reset you likely have an issue with the WiFi module. These systems are a little complicated in how they connect to controllers. In safe mode or low resolution mode they use USB, but in the dashboard they use the wifi/Bluetooth module so that's very likely going to be your issue

@@TheCod3r Thank you man for the response. Yeah, they are a bit confusing sometimes. I have a Wired version of that controller. And if I go to safe mode I can use it to navigate to that menu. But i cannot access the dashboard since i need to press the PS button to set up the console and that appears not to work. Ps: the button works fine when i connect it to the PC.
