I’m really enjoying as well. I’m relatively new to gaming since the last console I owned was PS2 so I’m having a ton of fun with PS Plus Extra. Honestly, the consoles this gen are great. I hope people would just get along already and stop with these console wars.

Yes I own the Series X but I’m coming back home to PS as I prefer and grew up with it next week . I love the Xbox it’s fast and very powerful it’s just those exclusives don’t hit like how it do on PS. I do think the Xbox is more powerful.
I really never understood the "console wars". I'm pretty sure it only exists between brand loyal whiny children. I hope so anyways. Hard to imagine anyone over 8 years old participating. This generation I acually decided to get both the Xbox and PS for the first time. I've mainly sticked to Xbox, as I like their backwards compatibility and other features. But since the PS5 can play PS4 games, I decided it was worth picking one up as well. I don't regret getting either one.
I used to have a 360 and their exclusives were fire!... now, they just cant compete talent and creativity wise... hence gamepass was created so people can play those yester year games. Im still hoping for xbox to make quality exclusives tho.
This was a great review. I am a bigger Xbox fan but i love my PS5, more than i did my PS4. I always thought as a console gamer i was missing out owning a killer PC rig, but listening to your review of the console made me feel like maybe I ain’t missing as much as i think and save the money since I own a PS5 and Series X. I got this guy's set up PS5 and a C2 and I regret the purchase soooooo hard. Ps5 is legit compatible with nothing not even peripherals like mouse and key board hell you can't even Google something or minimize apps in the background for the amount I spent I'd get a killer PC and could use steam that doesn't require monthly payments to access online features to games I already own
@@kapnkrunch6833 well a console isn’t trying to be a PC in the sense of a multi function device. It’s sold at $400-$500 dollars design to play games. No PC can be built in that price range and compare. Some games for Xbox and PlayStation do support mouse and keyboard. PC gamers shouldn’t buy a console and expect the same functions, they should expect to play the latest games and many exclusives that either don’t come to PC or not for a few years later. I agree that online play should be free and rumors have it MS might let go of Xbox live in the future once GP is at a certain amount of users. Unlikely that will still get us free online but it be nice. I have a 65 inch LG Oled and wouldn’t trade it for the world. Would like to get a smaller one to play shooters on. Sorry you don’t love your purchase setup, cause that is a lot of money, but you should be able to resell it for a decent amount of what you paid.

@@kapnkrunch6833 well i cant deny you are right about the browser not being on PS5 feels lazy, but this is what happens when sony builds a whole new UI for each console cycle. I prefer my Series X more from a UI standpoint cause it kept it the same as the Xbox One and has edge browser and more features. PS5 will add onto it’s UI over time and i would like to think a browser should come. But until then you are correct to say that feels cheap and lazy. Mouse and keyboard for console is again limited but available for some games. But console is mainly controller as we know. The Dual Sense is the only Sony controller I’ve ever liked, haven’t ran into Stick drift thankfully. But i prefer my Xbox Controllers dating back to 360 better than PS3-PS5 controllers. Mainly for the triggers and off set sticks. But if you are getting issues with it, i see your frustrations. I’ve heard lots of people say they are having issues. Well i hate to hear you spent all that money and are unhappy but i get some of your complaints. I’d say sell the PS5 they still fetch good money used and a C2 oled will make you back decent money too and start over with something that you will enjoy your games on.
I moved away from my PC to PS5 as my primary gaming system for these same reasons and more. I still play my pc but not as much anymore. Playing those PS5 exclusives while connected to a 4khdr oled tv with VRR feels amazing. No regrets.

I've also used to be all-in on PC, but these days after finishing work at home the last thing I want to do is continue to be on my desktop. Consoles these days are quite amazing and I'm truly enjoying the plug and play experience.
Same here. Each to their own but Ps5 for the price, is incredible value and specs. I have a stressful life and the last thing I want, is to be fucking about with a pc. Updating and buying new parts, having to sit right next to pc is a straight up NO for me. Let me hit power, sit on sofa or bed and play.
I have owned this since launch and I am as impressed as on the first day. I owned all consoles from Sony, most Nintendos, some Xboxes, a couple of Segas. This is the best console release ever.
I'm the exact same way as you. I have a 3080ti in my PC but after a long days work staring at a computer screen for 8+ hours, the last thing I want to do is hop back into my office chair and play on my PC. Being able to sit comfortably with my wife as she does her own thing and I play my ps5 on my thick couch is the best thing. Ps5 is awesome.

I'm a bit tired of all those components compatibility issues, so having that "insert disc and play" moment is pure enjoyment. Have fun, PS5 is a beast! The thing to consider about Darkplates 2.0 is that they do have them in gray and white, as well as black, if part of the aesthetic you currently like about the PS5 is the white/black look. I have them myself in the white with the white skin for the middle section and it looks so much more streamlined, plus it doesn't run as hot, naturally because of the added ventilation. Just my opinion however.
yes that's correct about the plates. I just got a PS5 recently and I bought the Black Plates as well as a Red decal that goes over the internal system lighting. So it looks like a Sith Lord, pretty cool
I'm like you. I was a heavy video game player but I stopped playing games back in the PS2 days. The Switch started me back then I got a PS5 when it came out then an Xbox series S and I'm having loads of fun with all of them

Target drops PlayStation 5’s every Thursday morning after midnight online. You have to constantly check but they will become available. Store pickup only.
Physically go to your local Best Buy. They have available stock. They don’t put their inventory online anymore to prevent scalpers from buying up inventory. If you go in store they can normally get you one.
I was a fan of Xbox for past 20 years but I switch to PS5. And I am very happy with new game pass on PlayStation you get so much better plus it’s $120 a year the premium edition/ Xbox gamePass /180$
The extra tier Is the best version of ps plus go for that, don't buy the $119.99 version it's not worth the price right now, barely any good retro games and stream PS3 is disappointing hopefully sometime in the future or next year the $120 version will be worth its weight and gold but as of right now it's literally the worst version for what you pay, if you're comparing it to gamepass

@Women should cook And clean unprompted hahah no its not. pc blows ps5 away and games are half the price, run twice as good, has mod support and allows for tweaking. a console is simply just a cheap peasant box, it's trashbinworthy after 4 years when the new model comes out. ps5 pro is going to come out in a year or so. the ps5 is not even fast, a mid-end pc beats it easily. a pc can play all pc games, you are not locked into a stupid app store like on a console. you are getting milked dry by sony.
Need for Speed Underground is a classic. Had so much playing that during the holidays when it first dropped way back. Love this review. I'm getting back into gaming and will be a new father too. Lots of time at the house coming up.
The PS5 is one of my favorite video game consoles of all time, been gaming on console since the N64, yet the PS5 feels like the absolute perfect console, the dualsense, games, fun factor all are incredible 👏👏👏
Bloodborne, Ghost of Tsushima, Days Gone, The Last of Us and Spider-Man games, Detroit: Become Human, Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy, Demon's Souls Remake, Returnal, there have been so many fine first-party titles on the PlayStation on recent years. Give Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy a spin since it's on ps plus extra, it's mad fun with 80's music!
I’m in a similar boat to you. Been a pc gamer for nearly 10 years, but since I got my PS5 two months ago I haven’t touched my pc for gaming in a long time. It’s just more convenient and feels premium. Especially someone like me that’s mostly doing work on his computer, I’d rather just chill out on my console rather than staring at the same screen. I’ve also noticed an alarming amount of PC gamers in denial with how much consoles have caught up to PCs now too, I even see them in the comments of people talking about how they switched back to console and they’re saying “oh your pc just isn’t good, pc is so much better because no subscription blah blah”. And as someone that used to use these arguments when I was a PC fanboy, alot of their criticisms are extremely irrelevant to the average gamer who just wanna plug and play, and especially for people who just want simplicity and convenience. I still love my PC and I will definitely be using it for mods of games I play on my PS5 and emulation, but the PS5 has my attention for the most part these days :)
I absolutely love my PS5. I bought it last year after owning the Ps4 since 2014. I used to be a 360 player, but playstation stole my preference in the last generation with all the amazing exclusives. I use my pc for game pass and my switch for mario:)

Like a lot of people, I’ve been stuck in last gen (PS4 Pro) due to shortages but after finally finding these consoles, what I’ve noticed having had a Series S then moving on to a Series X and then buying a PS5 is as much as I love my Series X and yes it is more powerful than the PS5 but the PS5 just feels more premium. The UI just looks so sharp and attractive. When I switch on my Series X it’s just a bit boring and not as nice to look at. The new dual sense controller is amazing, I wasn’t really expecting much from it, it’s just a controller with some fancy vibrations but no, you can actually feel the difference between dirt, snow, water etc. it’s pretty amazing. I still prefer to buy cross platform games on Series X as they tend to run better than on PS5 (slightly higher resolution and framerates on certain games). Just wish PS5 supported Dolby Vision like Series X/S.

@@kidd5381 the Series X is a beast, I love it. Gamepass is an absolute must have. Gotta say though in my opinion it doesn’t have those killer exclusives that PS5 has (most included with PS+) I know MS are thinking if it ain’t broke don’t fix it when it comes to their UI but I really hope they redesign it for the next XBOX, it’s a bit boring.

I improved my PS5 200% by getting the Sony black side plates. They should come as standard - gives the appearance of a real pro tech rather than a Fisher Price toy!
I totally feel u man, I was a hard-core PC gamer but now being a pre med I feel after coming from uni booting up my PC is way too much work, I just wanna lay on the couch and play on a bigger display. It's kinda sad but it's true..

I've been using the Gigabyte M32Q for ages and it hasn't let me down, more so recently with the PS5 1440p update - it's definitely more affordable too. Another one I've been thinking of trying is the Asus XG27AQ but it's a bit more pricey. I've heard gigabyte can have quality issues but no issues yet for me. VRR sadly does not increase framerate, you have to halve the frame rate your TV:s framerate counter displays to get the correct number. VRR fixes screentearing and removes uneven frame-pacing to make frame drops much less noticeable.
On PS5, there are specific games that have unlocked framerate only for VRR displays because of the benefits you mentioned. Games like SM, HFW, Uncharted LoT, Plague Tale Requiem, Rift Apart, GoW Ragnarok etc. have higher fps unlocked VRR modes because they would not cause tearing or be as noticeable as on non-VRR displays.
Ok am I the only one that has my ps5 in horizontal position instead of vertical? Everyone I see making videos on it keeps their ps5 vertically. Why? All my Playstations are horizontal
I miss the hell out of PSNOW. Now if I want what is essentially PSNOW it's not $5 a month but it's bundled in with essential (i don't use online) so it's $15 a month. Such a steep price increase if you are interested in only PSNOW.
I own all consoles, and I mean ALL. PS5 is slick and I really like the controller but I find myself rarely get a chance to turn it on since launch date. Also service wise Gamepass for xbox I think is still superior. Currently my usage of console/portables goes: Switch = Mister FPGA (if it counts as console) > PS2 & PSVita > XBX & 3DS > PS5. To me Sony isn’t on par this gen with what they have offered in past gens; still a lot of work to be done for PS5 exclusives.
From my experience using an external HDD with the PS5 causes a lot of problems. Also there is still a lack of features like updating your games from the library, can't believe how annoying it is if you have a big games library to keep it up to date. Another thing is that the Dualsense that came with my PS5 got stickdrift after only 6 month of usage and i had to buy a new one already. Just to point out some of the issues.
Oh yeah, I’m pretty sure a PS5 slim will be coming very soon. Austin Evans did a tear down of the new batch of PS5s a few month(s) ago and the motherboard in the newer batch is WAYYYY smaller than the older batches. Like a 30% reduction. I’ll be expecting a slim model in the next year or two, and a pro PS5 or whatever the next system will be called in the next 5 years or so, since that will be the system that most likely will be geared for 4K 60fps across all games, or even 4K 120 fps some lighter titles like fortnite or apex. Reason I say 5 years is because 4K gaming isn’t mainstream yet, only the top 3-5% really game at 4k resolution 60fps on pc. On console I would assume the numbers somewhat higher because of TVs but not high enough to build a console capable of 4K 60fps across all games rather than only a few
Got a PS5 yesterday. So so happy with it. Also own a series x. Just a question for anyone that owns both consoles. How do you decide which games you want to be for which platform? I’m thinking of sticking with exclusives for my ps5 and buying multiplatform games for the Xbox.
I say ps has the complete edge simply because Xbox exclusive is so weak. If you are playing a multi platform game you can already play with the ps so why bother with the Xbox?
The only thing xbox series x has over the ps5 is quick resume and a little more storage. But I still love my ps5 and I'm thinking about selling my series x
Actually Microsoft rewards is amazing. I've saved thousands of dollars in games with it. Backwards compatibility is top tier too 😁. Ps5 looks awesome but glad i bought xbox first.
I haven’t played any games in about 10 years and that was on the Xbox 360. I don’t own anything at the moment but have wondered if i would enjoy gaming again if I got the Ps5.
