Dude this literally happened in my country recently, a dude just stabbed someone because he thought that someone stole his turn to buy at the grocery store.
I like how Raiden’s just like “I don’t wanna be here, just let me go be in Revengeance instead.” Also it’s weird how DmC Dante has better dialogue here than his own game.
Not really, as they simply dumped all the edgy shit, and what's left is a snarky if generic asshole with decent lines. The problem is that comes from a character known for great lines, not decent at best. Oh, and color coded invincibility and no hit stun on invincible enemies, devil trigger actively breaking your combo by causing enemies to fly upwards perpetually, and no lock on making guns useless. Otherwise, decent if confused game. Really wish it wasn't called dmc, maybe even polished, as it had potential and the characters weren't poorly designed, not iconic, rather bland, but not bad either.
The Parappa’s perspective of that rivalry kind of paints Spike as a dick, he says “And what makes you think you can stop me?” Like a true antagonist to a guy who was just confused why the monkey was important to him.
I love how none of these characters are shocked by the art style differences. You got Nathan drake talking to a cartoon raccoon like it’s a normal Wednesday.
Don’t these rival cutscenes happen near the end after fighting all the other fighters? That’s why Evil Cole says, “Now I’ve seen everything.” They probably got used to the weird stuff.
I still find it hilarious how the reason the big daddy got mad was because sack boy became best friends with her. It’s like a kid whose jealous or something.
well remember the Big daddy's are father's who've been lobotomised into protecting and loving Little sisters as much as possible. so the idea of ANYONE taking her away is utterly incensing.
I like how all of these cutscenes are the characters finding an excuse to fight each other. Especially good Cole and Raiden, fighting for no reason at all. In reality they would each other to elaborate further and most likely either come into terms or go their own way without any combat taking place.
I still have a gameinformer from 2004 that has R&C and J&D on the front cover. As a kid, I thought they were really making a crossover game. It would have been sick as hell.
Ngl seeing those guys interact got me so fucking hype. And I only played 2 ratchet and clank games and no jak and dexter but I know they are absolute legends in the gaming world
@@skullgreymon To be fair, Jak spent 2 years being experimented on and tortured with dark echo, and even after escaping from the prison he still was a bit confused about where he was (time travelled and got arrested literally seconds after ending up in the future). It also doesn't help that anyone he met either didn't seem trustworthy at first or THEY didn't trust him and didn't treat him very seriously, which kept fueling his anger, so at that point it was "being a dick in response to dickishness". Thankfully, he slowly got used to stuff and at the end of the game he mellowed down, so in 3rd game Jak was calm again and a bit more willing to try to negotiate peacefully lol
@@-Poka- Raiden said I don't know you I'm not involved in your group. Cole said a storm was coming and he was gonna be involved whether he wanted to or not.
The writers of this game knew. In fact they WANTED to use og Dante, but Capcom insisted on the remake Dante. So they just did their best with the hand they were dealt.
@@odio_netusjo2000 It was in interviews with the former staff of Super Bot. A lot of videos covering the game now actually bring a lot of this stuff up. They wanted Crash and Spyro for the game, but Activision was asking for a lot of money at the time. They asked for characters like Dante and Snake, but Capcom and Konami respectively wanted to promote their new games, so they insisted on DmC Dante and Raiden. And when it came to DLC, they were in the works of getting Dart from Legend of Dragoon and Abe from Oddworld. Dart has a finished model and they were going to start work on a move set, while Abe was still in construction phase. But by then Sony pulled the plug on the game and so they canceled all future DLC. If you want to know more about all this, Watch Matt McMuscles episode of Wha Happun for the game. He actually goes into talking about a source he has that interviewed a former Super bot employee and why they were unable to get certain characters and why they had some of the roster they did. But to summarize a lot of it. The game came out at the wrong time, the devs wanted a lot of the same characters the fans wanted, but the companies that owned em either weren't interested, wanted to promote someone else or didn't trust a brand new studio to do this. Sony split paths from Superbot, leaving them independent and since they were unable to find a new publisher to help with funding it led to them going through massive lay offs, canceling all DLC and eventually shutting down. Despite Sony creating Superbot and having them work on this project, they barely gave them much of a budget to work with. And of course the biggest killer, the game came out at the end of the Ps3's life, meaning most devs weren't interested in supporting a "previous gen" game and wanted to instead focus on the next one. Imagine if the game came out today and how supportive a lot of devs are nowadays. We'd likely get the roster we always wanted.
As much as i love these rivals cutscenes and stories, I wish that there would be an even bigger story where all the characters fight then realize that there on the same side, somewhat bond with each other or if they can and journey to stop the biggest enemy which is the purple head
@@explorerofthedeep I mean, sure it would be rather cliched, but what would you prefer? An epic bigger story that features a whole team up or smaller and individual stories that are unique but dont make sense sometimes?
11:31 You’re telling the man who killed every god on Olympus.....to clean up ice cream on the ground and pay you back with money....Sweet Tooth was dead serious and I could not stop laughing at that🤣🤣🤣
@Harper Swan its not aimed at any specific age group lots of these type of games aren't though they have to keep certain things true and appropriate in a logical manner
Yeah, I actually really enjoyed it, never saw most of the "flaws" people talk about Just play it with AP gain set to fast, otherwise it's a bit shit :/
@@tdc3477 Hold up. Let’s not compare lol. Smash will always be top dog. This would be a nice mobile version smash type thing. For your iPads or phones. With controller support of course.
Man these freaking cutscenes are so awesome. This is a delight to watch. Honestly I wished Sony had a huge success with this one. Because this is fantastic.
Lmao. This and his whole gripe about kratos is why I put him after kratos' cutscene. That scene was just so funny and you know what they say, you save the best for last.
I love how easily explained Cole and Raiden are. In one sentence Cole says "You one of us?" Like, you don't need to explain this situation to him. He understands it perfectly.
Dude, I haven’t played Bioshock in years, but seeing Mr. B with the red eyes/port holes... I got PTSD for every single time he came charging at me in the midst of a fight.
I used to love this game as a kid. I would usually play either Sackboy or Big Daddy, so to have them 2 in the first cutscene really makes me nostalgic.
DmC Devil May Cry Dante in his own game: *Unlikable asshole* DmC Devil May Cry Dante in PSAS: Although I don't look like him, I'll be the hero you guys deserve!
Colonel Radec: a man of precision and experience in warfare, even though he is of a high ranking within the helghast army he is still a force to be reckoned even if he’s on his own Sir Daniel Fortesque: goofy but really cool skeleton
@@anotherhumanbeing3300 not technically due to big daddy not even being a creation of his. It's like in way to try to erase markers or dry pen on a paper with an eraser from a pencil.
Evil cole "im not looking for cake princess, im looking for special people, you know any?" Fat "well no need to be rude about it" Me "huh how was that rude the fuck?"
*Two sidekicks have some less than friendly words, but nothing serious* "Someone better teach you some manners." *Pulls out gun* Fucking hell, what an escalation!
6:25 Okay, I have to admit this matchup I kinda like. They are both thieves, after all. And charming rogues. Well, one of them is charming. The other is a Brandon Frazier knockoff.
I love Radec. He grasped my heart with his cold hands in Killzone 2, and when I played as him in this game it was a blast. Unlike some choices for the roster he was spot on.
So the whole game takes place on 3-D plain in the middle of the Shadow Realm huh? Also seeing a Little Sister playing with Sackboy is the most bizarre yet wholesome thing I’ve ever seen.
With regards to the Ratchet and Jak encounter, if you think about it they met in a game before this; that game was called Playstation Move Heroes. I mean these guys should have greeted each other as buddies not as strangers! I preferred their dialogue to be about having a sparring match to see who is stronger. Know what I mean?
@@skullgreymon nope they didn't. The game where jak, ratchet and y racoon run into each other is the first time. Issue is it wasn't canon and nor was this game which is sad as having previous interactions would of been cool
Here are my favourite rivals Sackboy v.s Big Daddy - I love the little man made of cotton and stuffing Mr.B, you're not my friend any more! Must kill tiny person made of stuffing! Nathan Drake v.s Sly - Excuse me, that treasure map is mine. No it isn't. Yes it is. No it isn't. Yes it is. No it isn't. Yes it is (four hours later) Yes it is! No it isn't! Yes it is! No it isn't! Kratos v.s Sweet Tooth - *Fuck your ice cream!*
Yeah the cast could be massive now. Bloodborne, nioh, days gone, spiderman, knack, the last guardian, shadow of colossus, ffvii, death stranding to name a few
Very good for a Smash clone. The interaction cutscenes were always fun. Only downside to this game is that you can only beat you opponent using Super Moves.
Can anyone imagine what the next Battle Royale would be like? Sam Drake, Delsin Rowe, Spyro, Jin, Crash Bandicoot, Ellie and Joel, Aloy, Spider-Man, etc....
Nathan Drake: "Well it wont be so hard to take them back huh?" Me A Sly Cooper Fan: "Let me show you the true value of those pages" *Uses ever Cooper family move ever made*
Yeah it does, though they should have included regular melee attacks as a way to deplete your enemy's health bar. In other words, a health system mode should be incorporated.
It makes no sense how any of those characters arrive to that stage and how many of them are just ready to start fights or overreact to the smallest things, but it makes the game more goofy and I like it.
If nothing else I will give this game the character interactions really feel great. Actually getting to see these characters talk to each other gives more life to the game.
I always love crossover interactions, there's so much potential and you can blend different personalities together. For example, Kratos meets Nathan Drake..
If Donte had this personality in his game, I don't think people would mind his redesign as much. He's actually acting like a dorky badass, just like the real Dante.
This game was so underrated I have such fond memories on this game, I played for hours with my friends I hope we get a sequel imagine it with today's added PS characters it'll be awesome.
