I adore the way how almost all of their films veer off very quickly from innocence, happiness, normality, quiet and innocence to immensely dark and often frighteningly familiar territory, where the essence of human ugliness comes recognisably to the fore. These sketches always seem to play on the host's strengths, even in unexpected ways. They really give the host a chance to shine and even contribute to the chaos that just makes the sketch, whereas I've noticed in a lot of sketches, the host is usually just a background character while a cast member is the focus.
