The general response to the "Aliens are real and they're here!" that I've seen from my fellow Americans are, "What are they trying to distract us from that they're putting this crap out there?"
They don't need Aliens to distract the masses tho, they can distract them by saying Kim Kardashian has added two extra inches around her ass that's enough.
Yes well the MSM keeps putting out nothing stories and blowing them out of proportion as a distraction for political events that the news should be covering. This could be to cover the WHO mentioning the excess deaths.
Every "space guy" with a telescope thinks they're smarter than what they really are and think they're more of an expert than these actual pilots trained to protect our country are, two of the men up there are some of the most respected pilots we've ever had and they have seen them with their own eyes while flying and it happens all the time. And UAP sighting all the time not just in the US. It seems like you cherry pick what you want to address, youre only addressing grusch and not the two pilots next to him that seen them while flying and the speed they're moving at. Yeah just conveniently skip over the two pilots on each side of him. Smh
it's shameful to call these people "dips***" when they're threatened to talk about it, it's because of behavior like yours that people hesitate to bring up the subject.
Amateur astronomer here as well, and a recently retired (20 Year) veteran. I had my first encounter with UAP in the Persian Gulf in the mid 2000s, my second encounter is too horrific to go into detail here. Regardless, I don't really like to talk about it much, and precisely for the kind of attitude on display here. Arrogance and condescension look bad on anyone, but they are especially troubling to see in the stargazing community. Clear skies, Polaris! Semper Fi!
I have always enjoyed your content and certainly respect your viewpoint. However, the hearing did not just contain second and third hand testimony from Mr. Gresh, but first hand eye witness testimony from US Navy pilots. The craft observed by the pilots and the flight characteristics they exhibited certainly seem worthy of curiosity, investigation, and yes, scrutiny. I think people who are convinced these are extraterrestrials, as well as those who are convinced they are not, are being equally close minded. UFO sensationalism is certainly a very real thing in America, however I think we have to be careful not to conflate matters. Skepticism is a healthy thing; cynicism usually isn’t.
My problem with the current UFO sensation in the US is that the .gov is getting involved in promoting it. That doesn't lend credibility to the issue for me but makes me ask, "if they are giving up UFO's or at least willing to fan the flames, what are they trying to hide." Smells of misdirection to me. I'm certainly a cynic - of politicians!
I think what bothers me about all of the questions about UFOs and the moon landing that you get when people hear about this hobby is that there is SO much to be interested in that’s real and proven, and that just gets ignored.
I once got hit in the head with a UFO. It was Unidentified for almost an hour, until I got home and looked and it was just bird poop. I was angry and disgusted. Anyways, my phone hasn't been ringing like yours but I've lost count of how many people have asked me for my thoughts on this. I'm just gonna forward them your video from now on.
If there are aliens here. Please, please, please take me with you! Too many crackpots in the USA. Plus imagine seeing the universe from space! No light pollution, no Starlink streaks.
I have personally seen star like lights moving intelligently in the sky. Meaning it slowed down, changed directions and I feel conscious of my awareness of it.
When Starlink first launched I had to deal with the questions about the lines of lights in the sky. What I find so curious is why unidentified seems to immediately default to alien encounters. What is it in so many people that automatically prefer this explanation? I know it was a joke but even Jocelyn Bell went for 'LGM' moniker to explain the yet-to-be-explained. I suggest this is a phenomenon that needs psychological research rather than bothering the astronomical community.. Probably what is equally disturbing is what is going on in Dylan's head that he is thinking about this stuff. Well done ...
4:44 "Oh my god, these aliens are racist." 🤨 The countries with high frequencies of sightings in your map (USA, Canada, UK, Australia) are all English-speaking countries, suggesting not that aliens visit English-speaking countries or are racist, but rather there is a data collection bias. This sighting map was highly likely collected from an English-centric website, which of course would get more visits from people speaking that language. Conversely, would a Chinese-based "UFO sighting" map show more concentrated sightings in Beijing China than New York?
Re. "No member of the scientific community is closed off to new ideas": I would say that this statement is simply false, at least based on my experience studying astrophysics at the university (some 20 years ago, granted). Usually, it's the other way around.
I believe there is a difference between "is there life out there" and "we have been visited by aliens". I think there is a decent chance that other life exists. But once you become an astrophotographer you gain an understanding of how vast the distances to other places are and realize what it would take for an alien to visit us becomes increasingly unlikely.
Yeah without exponentially faster means of travel it seems very unlikely. But consider the fact that we went from discovering flight to going to making rockets capable of space travel in less than 70 years. Imagine what kind of progress can be made in a few thousand or even a million years 🤯
@@garrettgoodwin3293 You are very correct to frame it over a few thousand or a million years. For space travel outside our solar system we need power sources that are vastly superior to what is available, technology and science that does not exist, not to mention that all our theories make travel and communications between solar systems a cruel joke for human race.
@@Greezy2000 at the bit I posted yes, but they are questioned with the specific phrase “extra terrestrial” multiple times in the questioning and they answer in the affirmative.
The hardest, perhaps impossible thing for humans to grasp, is that whatever TF is going on in the absolutely incredible "universe" that we get to see, we are probaly the least relevant part of it.
Had interesting convo with my son and his friends over Coffee other night, they asked me why i was a Skeptic? My reply was " Ask yourself why a Super Alien Civilization who's ships can move probably faster than light or even fold Space itself be crashing left and right on Earth? They sat there dumbfounded and couldn't answer me. As someone based in Science i required Empirical Proof.
If “aliens” did visit earth, they would see humans picking up dog poop and decide the dogs are the intelligent beings. Take me to your leader…Woof Woof
@@DylanODonnelli saw this but just saying "Oh its maybe a blob or a bird" isn't science either. No disrespect i understand that wasn't the focus of the video but you definitely glossed over a lot of details. The USS Nimitz had been picking up these objects on radar for months before the recording. Also pilots reported seeing these things multiple times in that area. I highly doubt the USS Nimitz scrambled jets because a bird flew into their training zone. While i'm not saying it's a craft or any sort of vehicle it is definitely hard to write it off as just a bird when there were 3 different types of observation which in any other field of science would be an extremely concrete observation. The USS Nimitz had radar, the pilot had visual, and the plane had Infrared. If you took a photo of a comet in the sky in broadband, IR, and you could see it with your naked eye you would say "Wow look a comet!" I just wish we could put aside the alien crap and take a real look and say "well what is it?" If its a glitch in our systems it needs to be fixed maybe the systems showed an object and the pilot saw what they were expectng to see or maybe it was some kind of weather phenomenon or something but i think its important to investigate and attempt to find a conclusion that is based on science.
All I know is I can't eat mashed potatoes without shaping them into a weird mountainous shape with a flat top that I cannot quite identify. I also have a strange five-note tone in my head that won't go away.
After being optimistic that there are/were/will be intelligent life elsewhere in the universe…now i am saddened by the realization that the possibility of having two-way communication with an extraterrestrial civilization is limited. Once a civilization becomes capable of altering its environment sufficiently to ensure its extinction (or set back) a narrow window of opportunity arises. During that time, the return light speed time might constrain the volume to a 50-100 light years. Civilizations might be like little lights in the vast darkness winking on, then off. Few if any ever on long enough to see the others. Take care of our world in case it’s the only one in our neighborhood. Remember, everything is meaningless and we are all going to die. ❤
Those who categorically reject Grusch's claims made under oath imply that the value of legal testimony depends on pre-existing belief and that the rule of law should be applied subjectively on a situational basis.
@@DylanODonnell "Just as there are those who accept every UFO report at face value, there are also those who reject the idea of extraterrestrial visitation outright and with great passion. It is, they say, unnecessary to consider the evidence, and 'unscientific' even to consider the matter".
Great comments and information. I personally have been diligently watching the night skies for 60 years, either with a variety of telescopes, or just by "looking up". I have never seen anything remotely attributed to a UFO. I have seen a fireball, tumble from one side of the sky to the other, flames shooting out of it. Once at sunset I saw a round, brightly glowing orb, hovering over a building, about 4 blocks away. Wow! Who should I call? I watched the gleaming sphere intently for several minutes with binoculars as it just hovered, slowly cruising around and around. I could not explain what was propelling it. Then I realized it was a child's balloon, on a string, lit up by the streetlights below. They got me! I don't take your comments as rude... you're just tired of having to deal with such nonsense. First, you have the Fermi paradox. If there are so many aliens out there, why haven't we detected their signals? Should be plenty of life, inadvertently sending out radio waves, just like us. Not a peep. Our signals have been going out for 100 years, having passed 1,000 stars. We've observed stars and galaxies stretching back to the beginning of time; and still no definitive sign of life. Truly, the vastness of space and the speed of light are 2 obstacles that "keep us in our place" (and them in their place). The farthest spacecraft to date, Voyager 1, left earth 46 years ago, traveling at 10 miles per second, now having covered 15 billion miles. Pretty good, eh? However, Proxima Centauri, the very closest star, is 5,880,000,000,000 miles away. 392 times farther. In 46 years, we've gotten 1/392nd of the way. It would take 18,000 years to get there. 600 generations. Star Trek is fun, but it relies on several violations of the laws of Physics, to work. (Sorry, but this is also what bugs me about the intensive search for an earth analog around another star. OK, what happens if 1) we find them, and 2) they are as technologically advanced as us, AND 3) just happen to speak one of our 7,000 languages. There are 71 stars within 30 light-years. It would have to be one of those 71 stars (out of the galaxy's 200 billion) for you to be able to send a question, and get an answer in your LIFETIME; 60 years later. It would take centuries to figure out how to converse, much less have a meaningful exchange.) Now, the universe is 13.8 Billion years old, and the Milky Way almost that. Our system has only been around 4.6 billion. Heck, if life evolved on only one billionth of the stars, there could have been extraterrestrial life in the Milky Way on a couple hundred systems, a billion years ago. They've had a billion year head start. Plenty of time for a multi-generational ship to explore. Even if they picked us to explore, (1 chance in 5 million), we've only been around for 200,000 years or so. Even disregarding the barrier of distance, and the odds, there is also time. They still only had 0.02% chance of meeting us, while we WERE us. Durn. I know, I know ... reality trumps logic. As long as the reality is real. Keep up the good work!
I'm not sure why i watched this video to the end but since you can't find anything you said wrong, avi is backed by the government in saying that the meteorite that hit earth was interstellar and the science is there to back that claim. There was only one whistle blower at the hearing. I'm not saying that any claims are true other than avis but if you call yourself intelligent you should at least get all the information before making a video on anything.
Though I don't buy into the koolaid it is a very fun subculture to interact with if you enjoy a good story. Not just the UFO but the paranormal ghost stuff culture in the USA has it's own weird and very entertaining subculture. Most are particularly well meaning too so I have an odd sense of respect for them even if they are way off base.
If we were being visited by Intelligent ET, there wouldn't necessarily be an even distribution of activity across the world. Given that these are intelligent entities, activity would be concentrated in certain areas of interest. What the interests are would be hard to predict but US military hardware might be of some interest. That is not always where astronomers set up their gear or in the direction they are looking. Disclaimer: I have high powered lenses and cameras and am currently looking but have yet to see anything.
I don't believe for one minute that we have been visited by little green men and women obsessed with pushing our cows over (maybe they come here on stag do's to earth or something), I do hope we are not the only intelligent life in the universe. When I gaze into images I have spend hours collecting photons for it never stops amazing me how awesome life on earth is, and I hope we are not the only ones (and if their world doesn't have clouds then I am going there to push their dam cows over).
Be a physician practicing medicine in the US during COVID and the height of the anti-vaccine politicization and you will understand how easy it is to misinform large swaths of the population.
I've been asked SO MANY TIMES " your an astrophotographer have you ever seen any UFO's? It gets so annoying. Ido believe there is intelligent life out there, I also believe they may have been here before. Example the phoenix lights back in the 90s that we still haven't figured out, that could have been extraterrestials but we don't know. That's the whole meaning of the U in ufo, unidentified.
Ones I passed people staring at the sky taking videos wondering what it was. I explained them that is is was a kite with LED lights. Nowadays they fly them quite often, they fly very high and far and they can be quite confusing for inexperienced people. Also more and more drones around.
Statistically there must be aliens because the universe has so many galaxies and so many stars. Why do those aliens not visit earth? Why do emperor penguins not visit Alice Springs? Yeah, all those many reasons.
someone is a bit uptight lol. so what if all this turns out to be real? will you sit down and eat humble pie till you barf on video or just go hide and hope people forget about this video? i guess we will see soon enough

@@DylanODonnell now that would be quite a thing if ducks and squirrels are responsible for building UAPs wouldnt it. context is important and david grusch was speaking about things of non terrestrial origin. he didnt refer to them as alien because it isnt quite clear as to exactly what time and place they originate from. this is about craft that exhibit tech that is not of this time or place and is interfering with military operations around the world. it is also about government deceit being uncovered. there are 3 possibilities here 1 all these people are crazy and somehow made it into very important positions in the government and military and decided to throw it all away and risk jail for fame. 2 its a government psyop 3 they are telling the truth and we are in the early stage of the biggest story mankind has ever uncovered there are no other options. and lets call the payday 2026 just to be safe . my money is here and waiting if you end up being right. however you might want to do a little research and find out about the wave of whistleblowers waiting in the wings to get their stories heard in congress . i think my money is quite safe lol!

Here’s the deal - there are life forms out there. Is there one planet, one tree, one star, one galaxy? Of course, not. Religious people and ancients needed to think we were special for some reason. We’re not - we’re just a little ant nest by one star. However, we’re too distant from anywhere else that life could come from - what’s the closest star - 4 light years away? So going the speed of light, 4 years to one star that isn’t the sun. Life as we know it dies before there is time for that. We’re here, so why wouldn’t there be life elsewhere? That’s the deal and jesus is a friend of the Easter bunny and Santa and Zeus and Ra. Pretty soon the little ant nest is going to be like Easter Island. We’re all going to die and be back in the little black hole we came from before we were born. Humanity has always thought itself exceptional, not just Americans - hence religions developed all around the all important human. Random flowing thought there - but point is if we’re here life exists elsewhere too
L Ron Hubbard also shifted his writing to make more money. Worked for him, too. As an American, I’m often struck with how these folks leap from “it’s an unidentified object since I don’t know what it is,” to “therefore it’s definitely aliens.” I have seen some things that I couldn’t explain, but never made the leap to “therefore it’s aliens.” I just didn’t know what it was. Done.
@@DylanODonnell he did say, sometime around 1955, that the only way to make money anymore was to start your own religion. And his religion turned out to be eerily similar to his failed science fiction works. Funny how that works.
@@DylanODonnell the upshot is, nothing you say here has anything to do with whether or not alien species (intelligence) exists. Sheer probability points to yes. What your piece is on is scientific method, to a great extent. It’s also on the nature of legal evidence. Science and the law both require evidence. Hearsay is admissible in some narrow circumstances, but is generally not probative. Science would require reproducible results in the case of experimentation. In any event, no evidence yet. Just things we don’t know what they are, and simple speculation. Interestingly, the UFOr people all tend to use the logical fallacy of rational construction, which is usually used by organized religion. Embrace your conclusions first, then find evidence to support it. That’s science done backwards, but so many dolts delight in their ability to make such arguments. QED. Did I mention that, besides being a visual astronomer and classical guitarist, I have an MS, JD, and a BA In philosophy? Because nerd.
I had to turn away from the screen; the Communion alien is very revolting for me to look at ever since I was a kid. I think it resides at the lowest point of the uncanny valley.
If those were your "points" I feel pity for you. All your wildly specific arguments could be answered with simple logic. You biasedly cherry picked your points while ignoring all tons of arguments against it. Rather than using your own brain you prefer or conditioned yourself to be the "smart guy" by being in the main stream. Pretty sure you have ignored most of the conspiracy because they are "conspiracy"
Dylan my dear boy, is it really so hard to understand why there are so many UFO sightings in the US? That's where the UFO crashed! We have been harvesting the alien technology for nearly 75 years. It should be intuitively obvious that this is the source of the sightings. : )
I hadn't realised that people can earn a living pedalling this rubbish or that sightings can be plotted to show where it is possible to do so, but it makes a lot of sense now you point it out. What I had realised was that soon after these navy fighter videos were leaked, there was analysis done by people who knew the systems and basically poured scorn on the lack of understanding shown by people who claimed to be experts with the gear and thought they were seeing alien craft! If these people had been trained properly, they would have known that they were falling into known traps. Strange craft rotating in the image? An out of focus airliner or distant aircraft. Not rotating, that is the sensor gimballing and tracking the 'target'. Someone who knew the system should be able to recognise that. The 'tic-tac' moving at thousands of mph against the background. The sightings were made near cruise ships and it is not at all unusual for shiny helium party balloons to get released from these. What do these look like when tracked by a sensor moving relative to them and the background? Like a 'tic-tac' moving over the sea at incredible speed. What happens to such a flimsy structure in infra-red when it passes behind certain atmospheric phenomena such as moist air? They become invisible to the sensor, which some would have you believe is them plunging into the sea at a phenomenal speed without making even a splash! Hmmm! It seems that some people must work quite hard to not find the rational explanations.
Alright.. fine.. no UFOs or little green men. Got it. but.. what about the secret moon bases that are so clearly visible from earth with some dudes C14. :P

While this isn't UFO related, I feel it's something I need to share my experience with a more "enlightened" crowd. As an Amateur radio operator (HAM), I've had the pleasure of making a few voice contacts with the ISS....International Space Station. While a few of my friends and colleagues thought that was interesting or even cool....many didn't know the ISS was manned and even more didn't have a clue it even existed in the first place. This does not negate the simplicity of the fact: there are UFOs - such secret espionage equipment (flying saucers, triangles, cigars - with glowing zones, plasma propulsion panels). This technology was launched in the USA in the 40s of the twentieth century, now it is available in many places (in China, in the Russian Federation, in oligarchic and criminal structures). To cover up, the special services have been spreading various misinformation for 70 years, producing myths and fakes. It is necessary to know about it, these are elementary facts. Of course, these facts, as such, do not exclude - neither aliens, time travelers, guests from parallel spaces, otherworldly dark forces, etc. You can play ufologically with these UFOs, but believe me: espionage technology is in the first place in this phenomenon. The US Congress has already begun to declassify it little by little, but they are afraid of lawsuits and other claims of deceived ordinary people.♨♨♨♨♨♨♨♨
