Disney pretty much bought Star Wars purely for brand recognition, this was never about telling a compelling story. They stripped away the original canon and locked it away behind "Legends" but cherry picked aspects of the lore to shove into these series with no regard for coherence. Star Wars is nothing more than a brand, a label to em so they can slap the name on merchandise. Not realizing part of the reason people bought OG Star Wars merchandise was because of the rich lore, universe, and depth the stories actually had in the extended universe. Disney never actually cared about the sequel trilogy, they just wanted to shoehorn in a trilogy to justify a new line of product.

Yes!! I love that you mentioned the SWTOR trailers! It tells stories better in minutes than these shows do in hours… more captivating, better in every way. Why do people that don’t even like Star Wars make Star Wars shows. Disney could make millions if they only put people in charge who had a passion for Star Wars. I'm sorry but I think you really don't know what you are talking about in this one. 1. The Force comes in different forms, and "magic" as a form already existed in the form of the Night Sisters. Different cultures of people uses the Force in different ways. 2. Force creating life is nothing new, the thing special about Anakin is that he wasn't created by anyone as far as we know while also having the highest count of midichlorians out of anyone else. 3. A lot of things people claim to break canon, do not actually break canon. There are also a lot of things that we will need to wait and see. Darth Maul was simply the first force user they have confirmed to be a Sith. There are other force users and fallen Jedi who are not Sith Lords. We are still waiting for more episodes to come out to see if they are actually breaking canon because the Jedi who see him could all still be killed before the Sith Lord's existence is leaked. Also, Mundi's age was never stated in the movies, and the only things in the EU that are still considered canon are things that actually happened in the movies and the Clone Wars cartoon. The picture you choose to confirm Mundi's age literally is an article titled how it does not break canon. 4. George Lucas himself used to be the biggest canon breaker, but most people who complain nowadays are probably too young to remember all the things he had broken. 5. If you actually read the reviews or see comments of people who reacts to the show not negatively, a lot of people are in fact complaining about the show not for the writing, but with bigoted comments, not just towards the show itself, but also the people who are simply watching the show does not actively complain about it.

So just a note. Magic has been a thing in star wars since 1994. This show is not the first time magic has appeared in the lore, and it's understood that the dark side is much more likely to use magic than the lightside with many sith using it to learn of rituals to reinforce their power and hold on the force, or to achieve unusual goals and effects. The Witches of Dathomir storyline in 1994 was the first to openly talk about these rituals and aspects of the force, and they were later canonized into modern canon so yeah this is a thing.

Fun fact for OOMPS- The Acolyte is dog 💩, but "magic" does exist in the Star Wars universe, Acolyte just did a sh*tty job of presenting it properly Darth Mauls' race(Night Brothers/Sisters) were known to be very powerful wielders of dark magics on Dathomir their homeworld(raising the dead, illusions and such) but they actually had it make sense in the real lore. Not pulling magic turds out of their bungus like they do in the acolyte.

DO lightsaber colors mean anything? Obviously, red is for the Sith, but the other colors? The way they're used seems a bit inconsistent and at least somewhat arbitrary. Of course, most Jedi use blue or green lightsabers, but Anakin and Luke use both, swapping colors after they lose their previous lightsabers. Pretty sure the only reason Luke used a green one was because they didn't want it to blend into the blue sky in the scene it first appears in. As for the purple color, that one only exists because Samuel L. Jackson wanted his lightsaber to be special. Yellow seems to be favored by certain factions for some reason, but that doesn't seem to be exclusive to them. Then there are colors that only appear in video games and books, like orange, cyan, and indigo. What do those mean? Do they mean anything at all or are they just pretty colors?
