Just wanted to add that Seventeen debuted because they pushed the idea of self-producing idols since pledis was too broke to do shit for them and delayed their debut for 2 years.
Pristin did that too tho, composing and writing lyrics etc but although they receive 3 rookie award, their album sale can't be compare with seventeen's. I guess the CEO didn't want to waste their money and time more so they just let go of pristin without giving them proper chance to try again and improve.
dude don't get me started on pledis, they treat all their groups horribly. they managed nu'est so poorly that they ended up being so desperate and going onto produce 101, pristin hasn't gotten a comeback even though they're so successful, seventeen deserves better, and don't get me started on after school.
And there's more, Pledis locked Kaeun and Yunjin on the dungeon even after the fame they got while in Produce 48, when they released their Havana cover I thought that Pledis was preparing something for them but it's been almost three months and nothing... At this moment I'm just sorry for Pristin and my Eunwoo, they have so much potential :(
@@3lo__m__ol3 Actually, Yunjin and Kaeun did some holiday stuff in December, such as a slime ASMR. My guess is they are preparing something which is why they have mostly been quiet.
I haven’t been a Kpop fan for a long time but people told me that when pristin was known as pledis girlz everyone thought they were going to be the next top girl group. But here we are. They deserve so much better🥺Their talent is being wasted smh
@@3lo__m__ol3 According to rumors, Pledis Ent. and Stone Music Ent. are planning a project gg with Yunjin, Kaeun, Sian, Natty, Eunyoung and the other Idol School girls
If pledis ruins seventeen, they are done for (pledis I mean) svt litterally puts food on their tables I hope they'll wake up and invest more on them before it's too late
Literally taking a bath in scalding hot tea. Like I love after school and it really sucks for a lot of the members. Especially Uee and Lizzy. I remember an episode on running man, when the members had to call up people who had bad luck and lizzy came on the show for it and mentions how life is. Uee was body shamed a lot. Like she is one of the longest members in the group if I remember correctly.
As a long time Pledis Fan (the artists not the company) I have noticed, everytime they made a step forward that you would think they're already in for a better way, they would step backwards twice and do something that is so wtf. And It's honestly so tiring not only for the fans but I bet for them also that until now despite recent improvements there are still some area in their mangement that is lacking and I think that's what they need to fix.
omg you're so right pledis did to screw up again is so sad :((( I remember being so happy during mama(?) when nuest, svt, and pristin all won awards, and pledis future looked so bright;; but now pristins gone...
@@FearlessFelix143 Im fairly new ti this news about pledis and the arguements I've heard are kinda weak. Idk if I'm ready to accept that they abused their idols or something
Pristin DESERVES a comeback. In August it's going to mark 2 years since they had their last comeback and in March they'll be the "2 year old group with only 11 songs". And they should say something regarding After School's situation. They have to either disband them instead of pulling an SM on us and putting them on hiatus and let them die slowly until their contracts expire or give them a damn comeback too. It has been what? Almost 5 years since they had any Korean release?
@Rena James We're talking about Pledis groups tho? Not Blackpink but now that you mention them, at least Blackpink has a comeback with a single each year. They debuted in 2016 with 2 songs, later on that same year they released 2 more, in 2017 they had a comeback with a single and then had a mini album with 4 songs in 2018. There's at least a pattern. And throughout all that Blinks would know what they were up to because they would do lives or post on the groups Instagram. Pristin literally debuted in 2017, had a comeback that same year and then disappeared from planet earth after that. Till today fans don't know what they're up to or even if Kyla is still in the group since Pledis won't even confirm or deny that. The girls don't even use Instagram. Their Instagram is mainly only used by the company to update on holidays or if it's a members birthday. The only thing we had in 2018 was a sub unit that nobody was expecting or asked for with 2 songs. Once again, they disappeared. And everyone has been on their own since then. I'm not saying Blackpink's case is not bad or that YG is doing good, but at least Blinks have content once a year. Pristin fans don't. They're the only group with Produce 101 contestants that were in I.O.I that hasn't been promoting since debut. Also Blackpink is not 3 years yet. On August 8th they'll celebrate their 3rd anniversary, they're still a 2 years group too.
@@xolillis Pledis will give Pristin a same treatment from what they give to Afterschool .. Afterschool been hiatus like 5 years .. The ceo just so dumb and wasting all the talent of their idol .. all the pledis idol should move to another company ..
@@illusionofartYT f(x) debuted in 2009, and they have been promoting until 2015. Sm did them dirty, i'm not saying, and they do DESERVE a comeback, but at least they have a whole discography. Plus the members have solo activities, victoria and krystal are doing acting, amber relases new mixtapes and luna just had a comeback. They didn't disappear, they update their instagram, do lives, amber has a youtube channel.. Their situation isn't that bad, i think that sm doesn't give them a comeback because they are busy with their work for now
Korean need a big cultural shift. These companies are exploiting their youths too much and with 20-29 age group having the highest suicide rate in South Korea it's a wonder how there are so many trainees still striving to be idols.
alex derek They don’t really have any other options. It’s either be a trainee or work incredibly hard to the point of exhaustion (and maybe suicide) just to get into a university that doesn’t promise any job prospects.
Here's additional tea y'all didn't ask for In early days, Seventeen also had to ask for Pledis to appear on a variety show. They also scolded Wonwoo for using dialect. There's also a lot of issues regarding trademarking and copyright. They are snakes. They prioritized their artist safety. They have this tight security when their artist arrives at the airport for gigs. They give warnings and blacklisted fansites that doesn't follow the rules. They actually hear fan thoughts. They only do things in second paragraph for their beloved money makers. The one that doesn't make money that much? Nah.
The problem with Pledis is that they like to place all their eggs into ONE basket. When Nu’est debuted successfully, they ditched AS and focused on Nu’est. Nu’est then suffered from poor management and publicity plus the loss of fans because of concept changes. Then SVT debuted which gave them a great surge in revenue and thus they decided to ditch Nu’est. Pristin had a hot debut like Nu’est but unfortunately faced backlash because of body shaming (plus the whole scandal with Kyla and her bro plus Pinky getting hate :() and thus haven’t gotten a comeback in ages..... at this point of time the only way out is for Kyla either officially come back or leave the group (I love her but the hiatus is affecting the other girls T.T), give Nu’est a freaking good comeback while within this quarter of the year and give Pristin another good comeback within the first three months of 2019. As for Gaeun and Yunjin’s debut.... it hurts me as a loyal AS fan but i Guess they gotta wait even longer. If Ga eun’s skills improve even further she could become the next Kahi (in the sense that they debuted late but managed to gain recognition in the industry). Pledis has excellent creative direction and composing (there is no way you can mix up their songs cos they’re all so different) so I’m not at all worried about the quality of the music that they release. I’m only worried whether they’ll even get a chance to release them.... :(
idk, seeing the situation kyla is still into. plus, some fans are now demanding pledis to debut kaeun and yunjin I can only see that pledis is going more and more unfair to their artists
Aa Aa sigh honestly as a loyal AS fan I would rather they focus on Pristin tbh I don’t think pristin fans can wait any longer while Ga eun fans (like me) are kind of, used to waiting alr :’) plus pristin has 10 members so I rather they save Pristin first
pledis really needs to step up. i mean every company wants money right? then they should give their artists comebacks because more comebacks = more money = more gain in profits for the company. it’s a win for both the fans and the company so why is it so hard for pledis? they should know better tbh.
The truth is funding a comeback need a shit ton of money too. Album production cost, marketing cost, promotion essential cost. They only focused on artist that could posibly make more money than other artist. That's why Seventeen and NU'EST are more prioritized than Pristin and After School. I really hate Pledis for this tbh, they are hesitating to give After School a project because it's been so long since After School performed, they are not sure if there is still enough people out there to hyping for After School anymore. It's a business after all, at the end of the day it's all about money for the company.
it's 2019. they should really start seeing how important their groups are to fans. if seventeen could and would, they could even make their own company and be 1039 times more successful than pledis could ever be. nu'est will be so so successful if pledis starts treating them like idols and makes them feel good. pristin even, heck these girls could've been in the top15 gg but here we have pledis, not paying attention to a group that could've made their company so much more popular. they don't listen to fans' pleads, they just care about their followers numbers and views. that's it.
I literally just discovered them and my friend who's been into GGs for years hit me with the sad news that After School might disband and I started crying WHY😭😭😭
ok so im a Seungkwan stan and he is my overall ult but I HAD NO IDEA THAT MY BABY WAS HIT IN THE HEAD OR TOLD TO LOSE WEIGHT AND IM ABOUT TO CRY I SWEAR TO GOD PLEDIS GETS ON MY NERVES
Damn I’m new to kpop so I’ve only heard that Pledis is really disliked by their groups’ stans but didn’t really look into why that was and now I’m shocked! This is horrifying and my heart goes out to their idols
them not providing in ear monitors and transportation for seventeen was legit when pledis was poor af. if you look at seventeen in ear monitors they all have custom monitors and even custom mics. and for the strict diets and no relationships it has changed pristin members also commented they dont have strict diets as long as they work out. and minhyun commented that pledis artist are allowed to date. but those rules are in every company. every idol in the industry has some time of diet plan and has had the no relationship rule for at least the first two years of debut.
Just like how Henry prince mak once said(former member of jjcc) "There are three types of kpop groups/companies." The Unpopular Really hard to become successful but if a group does the company will invest money in them. Pros: If the unpopular group has a loyal fanbase they can finish school in peace and even go to college.(Best position to be in) Cons: Not alot of money The Pouplar Usually easy to get successful Pros: Alot of people will know you and lots of money. Cons: Are usually overworked. Have alot of pressure on you. The half pouplar groups Groups who are lucky enough to get more successful then unpopular groups. Pros: more money than the unpopular groups but not by much Con: The groups often on strict diets, overworked alot, starving, etc. Worst position to be in Pledis just happens to be a half pouplar company.
"2019" could be different. I'm happy for NU'EST getting their come back but then sad for Pristin's disbandment. Man I hope they're being smart with their contracts.
Even though my ultimate bias group (Seventeen) is under Pledis, i agree 100%. Their groups have very unproblematic fandoms, pledis has very crappy management.
*SM/YG:* Lol *Pledis:* Hold my management.....wait shit where is it *ANYWAYS OOOOH ALL THE **-TEA-** FACTS....that I wouldn't mind hearing again and again*
If they're not going to give Afterschool a comeback at least disband them so the members could move on and find success elsewhere, my bias Uee is finding happiness in the acting world since leaving and I hope the same could be possible for my bias wrecker Nana who's still chained to Pledis ;(
@@yuutak7272 They want to have more comebacks but its up to the company to help them schedule and execute it that in regard of scheduling and proper promotions and marketing they failed them. And I agree with Celeste Yuno for they only given comeback to earn money then send to tours without promoting their songs better like 2weeks promotions with no proper marketing and lack of variety appearance won't do them good. The only benefiting is Pledis cashing in with less investment.
Now as worst companies go YG is still in first place for that. But pledis is a close 2nd or 3rd. They are their own worst enemy. Seventeen is killing it due to the great writing skills of Woozi, and love the fans show them. Nu'est will hopefully continue to thrive due when they are whole. Pledis needs to manage their idols better. And stop ignoring idols request for comebacks. For without their idols the CEO would be nothing. I'm watching you pledis 🧐
nu'est could have been as popular as they are now after their first year if pledis didn't fuck up and destroy them. at least they're finally getting what they deserve now, and we'll get ot5 soon.
Everyone is listing so many different companies in this comment section that, at this point, I'm convinced almost every company is mismanaged in some glaring ways.
Sims Rock 99 true but there are not many companies which are good to girl groups and honestly jyp at least comes a tiny bit close to that but creative freedom is a little obstructed (a little I’m pretty sure if they’re older they’ll have more freedom) and Sm puts people on hiatus and doesn’t let them leave the company.Yg would give you creative freedom when you are an older artist in industry, but you’ll be locked in the dungeon and possibly overshadowed
사랑해24K thank you!! i am in fact an asian, i am asian american. i am currently thirteen actually and i wanted to originally audition for jyp but currently they have a group :)) i am very interested in dance it is one of my best talents, i am more of a medium in complexion but i honestly don't mind the surgery or anything as long as it's not excessive. i am currently learning korean and having vocal lessons. the issue i am currently having is that i had been brought up to a group created by my friends who are also seeking to be kpop stars but they are foreigners, but not asian. we are trying to possibly audition together, but hopefully will all get accepted and be a group, we wish to have a company that will provide for us and are extremely hard working. we truly need a company that will fulfill that for us please tell us and thank you so much for your help.
사랑해24K we have discussed it together and we're planning on moving to south korea at eighteen, we were planning on training in our home town currently, but we would love to go to a small company for any exposure as much as possible!!
Nuest went through a lot more than you mentioned. A 5 year group had go onto p101 to save their careers and nuest was so mismanaged that they lost all of their Korean following until p101. They got their first music show win 6 years after debut.
I'm dumbfounded that you didn't mention how they basically tossed Samuel away instead of waiting for him to debut with Seventeen, AND is still getting half of his income
omg, I really HATE Pledis. I'm a Carat and the things the staff did to the boys on pre debut (for example, that Seungkwan thing you mentioned + Wonwoo's thing about him speaking satoori on seventeentv too) are just horrible. Seventeen do deserve better, they are one of the top boygroups now and Pledis is starting to promote them decently (I mean, the buses filled with "ymmd" on their last two comebacks, youtube adds and twitter emojis) but when they debuted it wasn't like that, Seventeen literally got out pledis of bankruptcy without any promotion. They did it all by themselves. AND that thing about putting all their artists MV's on just 1 youtube channel... that was THE WORST idea ever and I'm glad they didn't do it anymore. I'm also a HIgh and THAT MAKES ME HATE THEM EVEN MORE. I REALLY LOVE PRISTIN AND *FOR ME* THEY ARE THE MOST TALENTED GIRLGROUP EVER: they even compose their songs! They can sing, rap, dance, they're funny and nice girls... they have everything. Their potential is incredible to become nation's girlgroup in some years and Pledis is doing them dirty like that. I'm so mad just by thinking about it. I like NU'EST and I know they had so many expectations to become a big group when they debuted in 2012 but pledis managed them so bad and they got their first win in 2017! 5 YEARS LATER OF THEIR DEBUT! Wtf. Idk a lot about After School but I know they treated them really bad too and they haven't had a cb in almost 6 years. And do you know what's the worst part of all of this? Pledis has huge artists, they're all so talented and amazing. As I read in a comment below: "Why they made legendary's groups if they are not going to take care of them?"
Guys y’all know that After School and NU’EST suffered the most right ? So if NU’EST leaves and changes company , we ㄴㅇㅅㅌs have to continue to support them ok??
hey just wanted to fix a thingy you said, Pledis isn't a small company - they're actually in the top 5 (or 6 now) I believe. In terms of share price I'm pretty sure it's JYP SM and Bighit at the top, then YG, then Cube, then Pledis, FNC, and maybe Woollim. I think. All I know is that Pledis is pretty big.
Yes girl, fucking expose Pledis!! I've loved pretty much all of the groups that came out of Pledis, especially NUEST. It's a goddamn shame to see this company waste all this talent. They are capable of forming legendary groups and somehow SCREW it up every time. In my opinion, Seventeen saved themselves by making their presence known through their own social media and not waiting for the company to do promoting. #ILowkeyWannaFightPledisManagementInAParkingLotWithAMetalChair
I have to say that I made a theory about Pledis evil plan. The first group that pledis debuted was after school back in 2009, they disbanded because Pledis didn't pay attention to them and they had to do a comeback for about 4 years. The all thing started when Seventeen debuted, pledis wants to disband all the groups, he debuted Seventeen in 2015,the same year that after school did their last comeback. Pledis sent some female trainees to Produce x 101 in 2016, two of them debuted in I.O.I,and when I.O.I disbanded, pledis debuted pristin. Later, while he debuted pristin, he wasn't paying attention to Pristin & after school, in 2017, he sent Nu'est members to Produce x 101 too. Minhyun debuted in wanna one and pledis didn't paid so much attention to Nu'est W. The all I have to say is that he sent members and trainees to produce x 101 to get rid of them and overwork Seventeen, and in the end he disbanded after school and pristin because he wasn't paying attention to them and now he will disband nu'est because he isn't paying attention to them and he will disband seventeen because he is overworking them. If pledis disband seventeen and nu'est, I will DiSbAnD HiS hEaD, so be careful pledishit.
Bruh legit NU’EST and B.A.P were the rookie champions of 2012, I mean they dominated with their debuts. They were even more popular than EXO at that point because of their distinctive style of music. And both of those groups could’ve easily been as popular as BTS or EXO now if their companies did their jobs right in the first place. TS and Pledis Entertainment are real a**holes for screwing over their artists. And this trend will continue within Pledis and other companies if they don’t get their shit together and actually treat their artists as people and actual humans and not sources of income.
I'm sorry, After School not having a comeback for 5 straight years is just absolutely disgusting and not fair to them. Especially since they sent Kaeun to PD48 and now what?? I would honestly like an official update on Kyla's situation and a Pristin comeback. Why is it that they treat their girl groups shitty but their male groups are fine as far as consistent comebacks??
Maybe next time you could make a video about project group, not only from survival shows, but also the collaboration between 2 companies. Like hello venus, wjsn. And in the future pledis x stone music will make a collaboration of a new gg :'
