If you put the clips flat side up and holding the board to only the sketchbook cover, you would have full access to your pages to work on. Of course the way you have it also holds the pages in place but i was thinking sometimes it would be nice to have full access to making the sky. :)
That's a good idea to play around with the clips - I just tried and actually the board holds in place quite well with the clips on the sides of the sketchbook too.
I had the board alone in my cart and decided to think on it. I really want it- on a no buy... hmmmm... maybe next year. I thought of making a board but really by the time I'd try to even gather the supplies... this would just be easier and tested and true.
Mum was born in beautiful Cornwall! Mouse hole, think you say it differently, hope to visit Launceston soon, Perranporth is the home of friends parents! Wonderful scenery! Enjoy.Fred is really good!
You did make me laugh with your three! paint palettes. I start to question myself if I take more than three paintbrushes. A lovely loose expressive sketch, the sort of thing I'm aiming for. Practice practice practice!
Haha! I'm so glad I started with all this travel malarkey stuff before going away, because it's definitely been a good learning experience - it's probably building up my confidence to take less. (Maybe!!) Thank you!
Freddy! 😍🥰 I love your sketch 'n go bag and the things that came with it. I love his little gifts and handwritten note too. How sweet. You are ready for anything now and I look forward to seeing what you capture on your treks. ❤ I really like your lovely slimline metal palette too. Super smart. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm with us. 😊
Hiya! It's great having a strap on, even though I love the black and it holds more! I'll probably end up doing NO art in Nepal, because I'll be an exhausted aching mess all the time 😂
Great seeing your setup. When I ordered mine, the green bag was sold out. I’m still waiting for mine to be released by the Royal Mail for international shipping. Can’t wait! Thanks for sharing.
@@helencryer Should receive it soon. It arrived in NY today. Just needs to clear customs and then clear NY state to head my way. Hopefully before Saturday or Monday.
It arrived so quickly!! Mine was shipped today 😊 (but has much further to come). I didn’t order the bag since I have a couple of bags already, it seemed that I should resist 😂. I did order two different sizes of the sketchbook easel/board… the A5 and the A6 size, so depending on where/what I’m doing, I might take the smaller one as it would fit in my smaller bag. Now after seeing yours, I can’t wait for mine to get here!! I like the colours you chose, very nice!
I had to watch in two parts… your painting was lovely!! Such a beautiful spot to paint and it looks like the easel worked nicely with the stickers for the micro.. I was wondering about that, since that’s one of the items I’d like to use with mine 😊
I hope you get it quickly! I've ordered my first proper A6 sketchbook since I've been on my 'compact' theme, so the A6 might be interesting! More importantly: what colours did you choose?! I think I might need to use some superglue on the metal discs, as the magnet strips are quite strong and pulled one off when I removed it, but it worked great with the micro!
@@helencryer When I started using A6, I thought it might be too small, but I quite enjoy that size for “on the go”. Sometimes it’s the perfect size! I ordered one in Dark Blue with Sand coloured magnets/elastic and I ordered the other easel in Burnt orange with Midnight Blue magnets/elastic (I can’t recall which size was which colour). It was hard to choose! Good tip on the super glue! I might want to search where I can buy a couple of little metal discs for other non-metal items I have that I might want to use with the easels. I can’t wait!!
Hi, That is a military style bag with "MOLLE" loops, meaning you can attach the bag to other MOLLE items (using the four straps at the back), or add MOLLE pouches to it if you want more storage.
Well, having a cat, all that Velcro is a huge no for me. Nothing I hate more than picking cat fur out of Velcro. I do like the board, though. Seems the pieces at the bottom that go behind the paper would be more stable and not need clips if they were longer, and reached down to the bottom of the book. Or, if you had really powerful magnets, you could put them on the back of your book to hold the board in place.
