Huge congratulations Paige, amazing news 🎉 I don’t think it matters if you don’t have new FOs every episode, it’s more realistic and talking about WIPs/progress is just as exciting, I could listen for hours honestly
🎉Congratulations Paige! So much hard work. You definitely deserve to celebrate 🥂 I love your chemistry together. So much fun to watch/listen to you while I knit.
GO PAIGE!! WOOOO!! Post exam life come at you! I stumbled across your podcast a few weeks ago and as a fellow Australian medical human/knitter, I love it so much. I may or may not have gone back and watched every episode... it's like I have more knitting pals than just my Mum haha! love you guys!
I love every episode you girls produce! It is so refreshing to see two people so visibly and audibly excited about their craft and that of their friends.
As a fellow hater of tubular cast on with a million stitches, allow my to plug my favourite thing: you can get a tubular cast on by casting on half the amount of stitches you need with a crochet provisional cast on, then doing a yarn over before knitting each stitch on the first row/round, and then doing four rows/rounds of double knitting! There are a few tutorials online, but I believe I watched Roxanne Richardson’s youtube video for it 😊
Awww congrats on finishing your exams!! I'm slowly trawling through all your videos, love the chemistry/interaction between the two of you, you remind me of my own buddies back home! Also the mention of Maker Maker makes me reminisce about the time I spent in Melbourne - definitely couldn't afford to buy lovely yarns when i was there!!
Love love love watching your videos! You both keep me inspired and I definitely enjoy listening while I work on my own projects. I love the long videos and would even really enjoy hearing about more of y’all’s interests and life updates outside of just knitting if you’re willing to share! Sending so much love from Texas! ❤🧶
Loved it you two! Look....however the podcast rolls out if just "fine and dandy" for me. Anything knitting is great....oh and hot cross buns! Congrats Paige on Paeds exams!! clever. I would have just loved you to attend to either of my children had needed your expertise. Lucky Melbourne families! 🥰🥰 to you both
I enjoy watching your videos whether they're long or short, and regardless of if you've finished any projects! Hot cross buns are my favourite part of Easter too. However, you can't really buy them in The Netherlands, where I live. So I've been baking my own for years. The first bite when they're fresh out of the oven is heavenly!😋
Mmmm, I deliberately undercook mine a bit so they're still kinda soft when they come out of the oven. They don't last as long but worth it for that first bite... yummmmmm
Paige, congratulations on passing your exam! What an exciting time!!! As always, love hearing what you two have been up to. Y’all are the quintessential hype queens and we love it.
You both together are contagious and congrats Paige and thank you both for taking us on your life journey away from knitting as well. Both of you are very beautiful knitters and I am like everyone else here I love watching your channel. From Alberta, Canada♥
Congratulations 🎉 I had been thinking about your test results all last week So excited for the positive results Your book review encouraged me to stop the video to see if I could find the lovely Japanese patterns. Lucky me I should have one very soon! Thank you both for keeping me company and encouraging my very new knitting adventures ❤
Congratulations Paige!! 🥳 so happy for you, you deserve it! Sarah, absolutely obsessed with the Dartmoor sweater progress, and I was thinking about how lovely a cardigan in that Poppy yarn would be just before you both said it, so maybe it's meant to be... Lovely podcast as well, I don't mind if there are no FOs, I just love hearing you both talk 🥰
Love your podcast girls! 🥰 your chat is so lively and interesting, just because of the way you interact with each other and of course the fact that there are two of you. Your love of knitting, design and yarn shines through, as does your friendship - You are great company! Many congratulations Paige, on passing your exams! Looking forward to those complicated and stunning Japanese designs you’ll be creating now that the exam pressure is off! Sarah, having knit jumpers for my grandchildren recently I’ve learned that a couple of buttons along the shoulder or raglan line are hugely appreciated by both baby and parent 🥴 hope your gorgeous pink Monday junior sweater works out ok. Xx
Hello! Thank you so much for your kind words and your tips 🥰 that makes so much sense as to why some patterns have that for kids. I think it will be ok, might just be a moment of crying getting it on, but then lots of cosy happiness with it on.
Congratulations Paige!!🎉🎉😊 Hoorah!! YES, that feeling of „I will never have to do this again“ is SO awesome. Enjoy life, champagne and knitting now in full ❤. I could listen to the two of you talk about toenail fungus and enjoy it, I think 😂. Finished objects, half finished, started and ripped back and restarted…. Plans…. It’s all fun. I would LOVE a flip through of that book one episode if it’s allowed. It is stunning. Currently in the middle of a move, so I’ll wait to buy more things… but with Google translate and a Japanese friend… it might just be feasible 😮. Happy Easter!
Congratulations on passing your exams, Paige! And Sarah, that idea of pairing a handdyed yarn with a commercial yarn is absolutely inspired. I hope you enjoyed the bubbles 🥂
Congrats Paige!! I love watching your videos. So much of my feed is full of folks overseas and while I enjoy their content, it's nice to see people experiencing the same weather as me (and the same random heat waves!) and planning for the same upcoming seasons. I also love that you recommend local yarns and local yarn shops. I love chatting about the progress and process. FOs are great, but I like knowing how the experience is going! And video length doesn't bother me - sometimes the longer the better so I don't need to find something else to watch for a while 😆
just found your podcast! last weekend at fed square there was a bakery pop up part of the melbourne food and wine festival and i had a twice baked hot cross bun with almond cream (kind of like a hot cross bun almond croissant hybrid) from bread club. it was divine!! i love prosper yarns, i've got a few skeins of sock yarn from them waiting to be turned into something beautiful.
Hello! OMG love to see anther Melbourne duo 🥰 I think I've hit my limit and eaten too many HCBs now. Which is how i know that I've done easter right. Am eyeing off more and more of the prosper yarns now that I've knit with it.
Love this style of short and sweet video, love your projects, I have just finished the Paloma sweater in Prosper yarns chuffed base in the Eos colour .
Congratulations Paige. This is amazing, but not unexpected. Great episode. I think you two could def mix it up, short and sweet with an occasional long episode thrown in? Hot Cross Buns!!!!! I miss a good hot cross bun. There is, very sadly, not a tradition of hot cross buns in Ontario Canada. Maybe Vancouver area which is much more Brit. But here we have the sticky, overly cinnamon tasteless supermarket kinds 😢😢 Have a few for me!!!
Congrats Paige! Re the Japanese pattern, it is unfortunately the norm for Japanese patterns to only offer one size for patterns, it’s the same for sewing patterns too 😅 I guess maybe because the schematics are so clear perhaps people can figure out how to increase if they needed to. But yeah very normal 😂 By the way I just wanted to say that Japanese needle sizes are different to US sizes so just be aware that if it only says “3号” or something that’s the Japanese needle size, rather than 3.00mm. Looking forward to seeing the finished object! It looks great so far 😊
Congratulations Paige!! I’m sure it’s such a relief to be finished with exams. I told my mom last video that you guys were doctors and she was like wow they’re so cool! 😂 That Monday sweater yarn combo is stunning. And I feel you on the gift knitting versus knitting for self. I’ve been working at getting better at setting boundaries/speaking up about prioritizing the projects I want to make and not just all gifts all the time. I’ve never had hot cross buns but I want to try. I also just saw a post on IG about them like an hour ago so what a coincidence! Every time I hear the phrase hot cross buns I start singing in my head this song that’s meant to help children learn to play the piano😅 I don’t mind shorter videos even if there’s not a ton of FO’s. I’m just happy to see you two get together and be chatty. I’m also learning to appreciate the process a bit more instead of rushing to the finish line and with that means enjoy a WIP while it’s a WIP. Feel free to record whatever you want and I’ll be here to watch!
i made the monday sweater for a 2 year old and i started off making the 3-4 yr old size (but it was only a few stitches more than the smaller size...) and i thought the neck still looked small as well. HOWEVER! after blocking, it fits fine! plus the ribbing helps with the stretch 🙂
Congratulations Paige! 👏🥳 Enjoy your ribbon vest!! And Sarah I love the look of your sweater so far with the Poppy yarn 😍 as for all the ends to weave in, for a future time, did you try to weave in the ends as you go? (for example with the "weave in Steven" technique? I've been doing this since I discovered it and it's quite satisfying). As others commented, I don't care if you have finished objects or not, I like as much discovering your WIPs or your new yarns or just hearing you two talk! 😊
I got sooo inspired to knit with Poppy now 😍 I thought about the novice sweater because that calls for a bulky yarn held with mohair, what do you think? And also; I love shorter podcast as well as longer! It’s nice to mix it up 😊 Love from the other side of the world 🇸🇪
Hmm it's a good question, and not sure what the answer is or how to attempt to answer. I think the amount of recoil a strand of yarn has when you pull it gently from two ends gives a good sense of bounciness. The less bouncy the more drapey. Then I spose you can lean into that by knitting on larger needles to enhance the drapey-ness. I think I just chose yarn I like and then swatch to see how it looks and if I like it I'll go for it? Hope that makes sense.
@twopurlsinapod thanks for your help, that makes sense! I dread gauge swatching, but if it means being able to predict fabric drape it *might* be worth it 🤣
