@@Owtyg23 I must admit, Jack did not impress me as much, I mean his playing was incredible, but what he played just felt not as musical when directly compared to Plini and Jakub Zytecki. But at the show I was, Gardiner had not a good sound setup, way to loud lead guitar compared to his rest of the band, so you could not hear the bass much and the drum did drown a bit behind his pure guitar volume for me. So hopefully it came together better at other shows, because Jack Gardiner most certainly is an incredible player.
He's my absolute favorite for dynamics and phrasing out of his contemporaries. He puts a ton of "soul" into it, knows when to leave space, and has a really nice tone picked out for his style of playing. No disrespect to any of the others out there but he really nails it on lead.
They sound amazing, and it really is impressive. But, the show itself looks boring AF. Super low energy. I really like the sound of these super inovative virtuosos, but they move like they are 80 year olds.
I saw them in Minneapolis and it was one of the best nights ever! Id never heard of Jakub either until that night. I love how they just jam for a while, its so amazing! Thanks for posting!
As a guitar player myself, this has to be one of the most beautiful moments that I've ever witnessed in my 21 years of lifetime. This video should actually be some sort of landmark for young guitar players like me. Thank you for this video!
Why is it so easy for some people to have this kind of performances past right over their heads? I mean... Why would someone want it to be perfect? Clearly, Plini simply wants his friends and fans to have fun...
I've seen him live though I didn't stay long enough to see the soloing part. To be honest he comes off as kind of really smug in the way he talks to his audience, though that might be just me perceiving his slight awkwardness wrong. But also there's videos of him with other musicians absolutely killing it improvising absurd fusiony lines in this same sort of situation. So that's why I was critical.
Or you just lack the taste for this? I thought most of it was nice, some maybe a little jazzy but nice nonetheless. Besides, this is just to have fun at the end of the show.
It's a little hard to play songs identical to the album when you are a 3 piece band. I have no problem with backing if they just use the tracks that 'fill' out the mix. They still have to play their ass of
I have the tabs to one of their albums and some parts of their songs literally have 8 guitars... It would be extremely hard to get that many people to do it live.
