Plitvice Lakes through Bosnian countryside / Why do we travel? 

Hey Mary Jane! A bit late to this video, but wanted to say how much I appreciate the beautiful music and landscapes you’ve captured. Great work! I’ve been thinking about the question a lot and for me the waterfalls are the perfect metaphor for why travel. As we age the neural pathways get stronger, like tiny streams of water growing into bigger streams, even rivers, and over time it’s increasingly easy to keep falling into the same old channels of thought and behaviour, life can get very dull. Travel is like going over the edge of the waterfall, it liberates and energises us to flow into a new path, to go anywhere, and discover new pools and streams we’ve never seen or imagined could exist. Recently I’ve been in Manchester UK for the first time, same country, but so different to the south where I live. I loved it, the people are super friendly and have this amazing sense of community I didn’t think was possible in a city. Suddenly the whole world looks different to me, I’m back in the south, but the paths in my brain have found new places to run, thanks to travel.

Breathtaking views of the Bosnian countryside. Those waterfalls were unlike any I have seen! To see views like that is why I travel along with learning about other cultures. Thanks, MJ for sharing your experiences!

Beautiful MJ.. However, I like it more when you talk more and describe the place you pass. Plitvička Jezera is one of the most beautiful parks in Croatia and the world. Your artistic intermezzo is nice but not informative. I hope that next time you will have the opportunity to get to know Croatia in much more detail and for a longer time. I also hope that less time will pass between recording and publishing the material. We watch the footage from April in October. It's nice, but it's not very current. We love fresh reports.

We travel because our brain needs new stimulus. It can be visual (new places) or experience different cultures
