The ideas of Plato had a great impact on many thinkers centuries after. This was the case of Plotinus, who took some of the doctrines of Plato to the limit, more precisely through a whole explanation of the existence of reality in a division of planes.

When it is said that the One does not "think" or has no "freedom", what is meant is not that the One is a thoughtless, unchanging field of some sorts. We are actually to understand the One as being ABOVE such concepts. Think of the difference between humans and other animals. We possess some capabilities, namely higher cognition and consciousness, that other animals do not. From their perspective, our capabilities are incomprehensible. Similarly, we are not capable of understanding or imagining what being ABOVE thought means, but it is certainly not to be understood as being thoughtless in the same way as a rock.

This is similar to Dao in Chinese Philosophy and Suniyata in Buddhism. Great civilizations all discovered the same concept, just like discovering math. So this is the actual truth.

Eternally actualizing as a unified diversity or Uni-verse. 3.The abstract (Heaven) called Love by the Psyche (Firmament) can be expressed concretely (Earth) as a smile, hug, etc, thereby uniting Heaven and Earth. To actualize potential: Dream it. Feel it. Do it.

The one, is the unknowable "God" and therefore any concept of it, in a sense is void. We can't know, what is unknowable. We can however try and interpret it, through individual insight, though that itself would also be a concept. Study of you're own idea of the unknowable, as well as others should still be sought after, though ultimately not as an attempt to define it, but simply to further the Study of it.

So, the One is eternal, not created, always was, always will be. It is the Absolute, but not the biblical God. Yet, like the biblical God, it is the Source, while not being, the Creator. The ONE is not "free." Whatever it does, it MUST do this. What we are dealing with every day, seems to be the product of the confusion of the Intellect, which derives from the One. So, the ultimate blame has to go back to the One, assuming it is right to blame. The good news is that we all, including everything else in this "Relative Sphere," are headed back to the Godhead, not to God, but to the Godhead, THE ONE. So, we need to have patience; we need to have restraint.

The One... Yeah Plotinus was thinking about that before modern technology, astronomy and physics hypothesized the "singularity" of the "Big Bang." Just like Democritus or was it Heraclitus,? Saying everything was made out of tiny atoms. Or Axamander saying humans evolved from crustaceans in a riverbed. Anybody notice a pattern here? I mean is it just me? Or did ancient philosophy predict science like Star Trek predicted the smart phone?
