I feel like a lot of us chose black not because we want the color but because we’re scared of (looking big in) white. I’m so happy for her that she found a dress that makes her feel like the beautiful bride she is 🤍

Congratulations on the bride to be !! I heard the song always and forever by Luther Vandross playing and that was my wedding dance song it's a long song and I had a band at my wedding. I got married April 18th 1998 and I was only 20 well I just turned 20 only 2 week earlier. My parents paid for most of the wedding all I had to pay for was my dress and wedding invitations my parents insisted on the band. The band wanted to make that song shorter and I said hell no I will dance with my new husband threw that whole song !! We started dating at the age of 14 he was 15 and we dated all threw high-school I gained alot of weight my senior year of high-school. I had pcos and didn't know it at the time. When I went to try on wedding dresses with my mom and mother in law and some of the girls in the wedding party since it was my 2 sisters and my soon to be husband's 2 sisters. I fell in love with the first dress I tryed on and didn't want to try on anymore but had to so I tryed on about 6 or 7 and left that night putting the down payment on my dress and it was the first one I tryed on but the woman who owned the bridal boutique took my measurements and said to me let's order the size 18 dress because if we go up a size there will be alot of alterations to do due to me being only 5'2 and most brides lose weight anyway so you will be fine so I took her word and ordered the size she suggested and left. I made weekly payments on my dress so I can get it payed off asap and not have to worry about it. So 7 months go by and it was time for my first fitting. I was so nervous because I wasn't sure if I lost any weight I was still fitting in my regular size clothing. I had my mom with me and we get there my mom sits down and waits for me to come out with the dress on and she can hear me in the fitting room with the owner and me getting very upset. I come out to my mom's arms crying... I must of gained weight because I couldn't even zip up the dress and the sides of the dress were so tight the stitches were being pulled so tigh the dress ripped along the seam. I was crying hysterically and my mom's face went to bright red she was pissed !!! She yells at the owner that you made my daughter order the size you suggested and now look at my daughter you have her so upset what are we going to do to fix this and the owner tells my mom that she can have her seamstress add panels to the sides of the dress and no one will know but it will be a extra $ 400.00 and we needed to pay it tonight because there isn't much time to do this the wedding was only 4 months away. I was freaking out even more due to not having that money I was broke due to paying for other things for the wedding. My mom then tells the owner that we are not paying that price due to her ordering that size if we went up a size like we should of . So we got the lady to pay for the alterations and when I had the next fitting I was very happy the dress fit beautifully and you couldn't tell we added panels to the sides of the dress. I want to wish the new bride a happy and long marrage. We just celebrated our 26th wedding anniversary 🤍🥂🤵‍♂️👰💐
