- Our GDP run rate in last 9 years is about HALF what it needs to be. Do we want India to win? But our run rate is about half then we aren't winning. Even Rwanda and Bangladesh are ahead of us, our rank is 120 in GDP per person. - Absurd Inflation: basic Toor Dal which I think was Rs. 50 in 2014, recently I paid Rs. 270. Absurd. - Unemployment is the worst it has ever been in decades. And when many IIT or IIM are not getting placed obviously there are serious fundamental issues in the country. Clearly, something needs to change. To win our run rate needs to be 8-10% not 5% (for the last 9 years it's averaging around 5.1%). Unless we double our run rate from say 5% to 9-10% we will continue to be behind other countries. It's that simple. Now you will ask, is it possible to double the run rate? Yes it is: This same 8% rate has in fact happened in the past IN INDIA ITSELF (for 6 years under another person). And it has been done by other countries much worse than us. And these countries are now ahead of us. Even now, here and today, this 8% has finally been achieved now in the 10th year (although the last 9 years were pretty weak. So the average is pretty ordinary.) So absolutely it is doable, was done for 6 years. and is being done now. *The sad thing is in the last 9 years we were at a mediocre growth rate*. And so we still are at rank 120, unemployment is terrible, and inflation is mind-boggling, and out of our 10-15 major problems only 2-3 are solved after 10 years.

​@@authentic_101What are you talking about? Price of petrol has stayed the same for more than 1 year defying inflation. A post office KVP deposit doubles in value in almost ten years. For a country to grow and function properly, all consumable items should double in value in a decade to account for the compounding effect of normal annual inflation. For your kind information, PRICE OF PETROL IN MAY 2014 WAS RS 71.40 PER LITER. So, the Modi govt has done excellent job of keeping its value much below the inflation and GDP growth rate justified Rs140 per liter in January 2024, almost 10 years later.

Some times presentations by bureaucrats are also influenced by certain unseen strings and no minister can and should trust fully on them. Informal meetings with concerned private citizens whom politicians trust gives insides of the correct nature of bureaucracy, capacity to understand each other and try to reach a balance decision in the broader interest of nation is important. EGO on both the sides hurt the common citizens.

How had economy vanished, can u elaborate or just wish to raise slogan ! Into the long run, GST is the best thing to happen into tax system in India. We will realise this in year 2035 or so when we analyse with results and not assumptions

​@@kishanmundra9167BJP was the first one who opposed GST in 2013. Originally GST proposed by council yet to implement. Lots of GST rules need to be done. Why doesn't the BJP government bring energy, oil, and liquor brought to the GST regime? Why looting the people on petrol.

@@anujsethi7845 UPA lacked political wherewithal to implement GST. Opposing GST politically never meant that GST was wrong. Ya, there may be many things in GST which are yet to be implemented, but how does it matter that things are implemented over a period of few decades into the life of a nation... Everything will evolve and unravel. Pace should not be an issue, Actual intent can be. Here actual intent is positive.

Although the intent was evident back in 2011, our progress has been far from satisfactory. The nation cannot afford to linger at this pace; we should be aiming for double-digit growth. Yet, here we are, grappling with a single-digit growth rate.
