2007 में मैं भी गुजरात में एक मिशन पर तैनात था। मेरा मोदी जी से कोई भावनात्मक या राजनैतिक रिस्ता नहीं था, पूरे गुजरात में मुझे जाना होता था। मगर ना जाने क्यों मुझे सोनिया जी के भाषण की यह पंक्ति *मौत का सौदागर* कहीं गहरे चुभ गई। बस सोनिया जी की इस पंक्ति ने गुजरात की पूरी राजनैतिक हवा ही बदल दी। तब मैं अपने गॉव अवकाश पर आया था। तब हमारे भाई लोकदल के नेता ने मुझसे वहां मौजूद बहुत से लोगों के बीच पूछा कि क्या मोदी हार जायेगा , तब बहुत मजबूती से मैनें कहा - नहीं, मोदी नहीं हार सकता।

No disrespect for Saurabh Dwivedi sir and I admire his curiosity but he should not interrupt the other person that much often during the conversation. It makes me feel like he's guiding the conversation according to his own will. Also, he was flipping the pages of the book when the writer was speaking. Saurabhji, Congress up to 1970 was a cadre based party. Indira Gandhi broke this base by 1980 and a new Congress evolved which was run by family. Congress lost the base in Gujarat by not letting Narmad yojana move. Chimannbhai Patel's strong personality was in Rajiv: 's way. BJP in Gujarat worked on this weakness of Congress.

I am reading this book right now (thanks to you Saurabh as you recommended this book a while back in netanagari episode) and though the anecdotes are interesting but it isn’t well written at all. There is no narrative and proper flow and it seems like everything is just thrown together. Also, the writing is quite mediocre. The word organiser and organisation has been used almost in every other line. Book because of the facts shared is interesting but otherwise extremely poor and disappointing.
