For Question 4, even though option2 is selected because all the other options are irrelevant, technically it appears to be wrong. It says priorities backlog to match the team's skill set. But backlog prioritization is done purely on the basis of business value and risk.
Right, out of all the options option 2 seems correct in comparison to other options and isn't backlog grooming responsibility of PO?. PM can work with PO to refresh it but here there is no PO in picture.
Dear Ray, for question 5. I would have suggested answer D. Because the geological and soil testing is still on-going. The results may conclude that no construction can be made on this site. So if we continue the design of Jade villa event in an agile based iteration, it could be a waste of money and resource. Please provide your thoughts. Thank you
Hi, since your question is technical, I will answer accordingly: It's seldom true that some area is 'totally' unsuitable for construction. Ground subsidence issues are very common in coastal areas and can easily be avoided with pile foundations. Constructions in earthquake high-risk ares follow a flexible design. Hence, it is highly improbable that the soil testing study will reveal that 'no-construction' could be made.
Dear Ray , though I did not join your program formally and took access to your Udemy Q&A only your daily Q&A sessions were helpful and I cleared my PMP in first attempt with AT in all domains. Thanks a lot. May almighty give you more power to transform lives.
I got 4/5. For the last question, I was thinking since it was a construction project, Agile would not apply. But I guess since it’s the DESIGN of a villa not construction, that is why Agile can apply but then again, you could use waterfall for the design, because the requirements should not be more obscure than the ones for the other villas on the other islands…
It’s not like we need only user stories to be present then only we can apply agile The meaning here for agile is at least the other islands can go ahead and Jade island can redesigned afterwards. So you are keep moving the project.
Original Comment is below - I just reread the question and see now it says CONTRACT for design is complete. DOH OOPS. Lesson learned: slow down when reading questions.!!! I picked D on Q5 because the question states the DESIGN IS ALREADY COMPLETE AND READY FOR SIGNOFF - so what is the point of "C planning to design rest of villa in agile"? The foundation redesign needs to wait until all the data from testing is in, and the interiors can either be constructed as already designed or that design can be reassessed once the foundation redesign is complete. Curious to hear your reply! TYSM for these great and DIFFICULT questions.
My score is 4/5, for question 4 I did not select option B because I assumed that the backlog prioritization should be a task of PO, and not of PM. Thank you
Dear Ray, on Question 5 I feel. answer D would make much more sense, especially in the construction industry, as compared to IT industry, it becomes quiet costly to fix issues in Construction as most of the work follows a more prescriptive/Waterfall approach than an Agile/Adaptive Approach. - However thanks for the mindset on how to approach these questions
Q4: The answer you mentioned is B that is reprioritize the backlog to match the freelance team skill is not the best one as backlog prioritisation is based on Value. In this situation we have to go with option A
Hi, option A is incorrect because of the reasons mentioned. Also, 'reprioritization' can based on the 'value' which is planned to be created by the freelance team.
I haven't started yet the study material. However, I tried to attempt the questions and I got only 3 correct answers (i.e. #1, #3 and #4). Am planning to take the exam this year and that is why am looking, what the questions looks like.....Thank you so much for your effort in preparing such questions.
Excellent! Thank you for showing me your method of analyzing the question. Initially, I chose D. Here's my question: the project management plan has already been accepted; how would you know to change from a predictive method to an alternative one (Agile)?
Thank you for putting together well thought out questions with great explanations. Regarding questions #4 It was a bit confusing, the only reason I didn't pick answer B.) was because I thought only the Product Owner can reprioritize the backlog and I was reading it from the point of view of the project manager.
Hi Ray, thanks for the very informational practice questions. For Question 4 - While I thought reprioritizing the backlog was a better suited choice but the question asks what should the "project manager" do - but isn't backlog reprioritization strictly a product owner's job? Please advice.
Yes it is, but that cannot be done without the initiative of the project manager. The project manager and the product owner does not work in isolation in a project.
@@PMPwithRay but in that case it should be mentioned like "Reprioritize the product backlog with product owner" because currently it is saying what should PM do. pls clear the doubt
Thanks a lot Ray for these videos which played a substantial role in my pmp journey.. I got my pmp results today and can’t thank you enough for my success with 3 AT.
A focused group discussion (FGD) is a qualitative research technique commonly used in social sciences, market research, and various fields to gather in-depth information and insights from a group of participants about a specific topic or issue. FGDs are also known as focus groups. Key features of a focused group discussion include: 1. Group Interaction: FGDs involve a small group of participants, typically ranging from 5 to 12 people, who are selected based on their relevance to the research topic. These participants come together to discuss and share their thoughts, opinions, and experiences. 2. Moderator: A skilled facilitator or moderator leads the discussion. The moderator's role is to guide the conversation, ensure the discussion stays on topic, encourage active participation, and probe for deeper insights. They may use a pre-prepared set of questions or discussion points as a guideline. 3. Open-Ended Questions: Participants are encouraged to express themselves freely. The discussion is based on open-ended questions and prompts, allowing for diverse perspectives and a wide range of responses. 4. Qualitative Data: FGDs aim to collect qualitative data, which can provide rich and nuanced information. The emphasis is on understanding the "why" and "how" behind participants' responses rather than quantifying data. 5. Group Dynamics: FGDs take advantage of group dynamics. Participants often respond to and build upon each other's comments, which can lead to the exploration of deeper insights and perspectives. 6. Sample Diversity: Participants in a focused group discussion are chosen to represent a range of backgrounds, experiences, or opinions related to the research topic. This diversity can lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the issue. 7. Non-Bias: FGDs are designed to minimize bias and encourage honest and candid responses. Participants may be encouraged to express both positive and negative views. 8. Data Analysis: After the FGD, the data collected is typically analyzed to identify patterns, themes, and insights that can inform research findings or decision-making. Focused group discussions are commonly used in various contexts, including marketing research to gain insights into consumer preferences and behaviors, product development to understand user needs, public policy to assess public opinion, and academic research to explore complex social issues. FGDs are a valuable tool for collecting qualitative data, which complements quantitative data and provides a deeper understanding of people's attitudes, beliefs, and motivations.
For question number 4, your answer agrees to the Project Manager re-prioritizing. I thought only the Product Sponsor could re-prioritize?? Kindly explain
Got 5/5. The exam is scheduled for 11 Oct. 3 days to go. Still not confident enough. Any last minute tips? Also in the last que, no methodology is mentioned so i consider it a hybrid. Is it correct?
Hi sir i hope you are doing well . I need information regarding exam criteria or outline .I am preparing self preparation .can you tell me .Have any chance PMP Course outline or criteria pmp exam in next 6 month
Hi ray for question 4 : I am not sure how reprioritization of backlog will be done by project manager as it’s product owner job to do this, kindly clarify
i think, here PM would ask Product owner to do so under this special circumstances, hence indirectly PM is doing prioritizing means, he is letting this done by product owner.
Hi, in the PMP exam you should always choose the 'best' option amongst 4. Here in this question, it's undoubtedly Option B. In small agile teams, PO/PM roles can be combined (tailoring), and additionally, the PM can take the decision and get the reprioritization done by the PO.

Thank you for sharing your score. Don’t worry about the score too much. However, focus on your learning gaps and try to improve on the same. The key to a good Exam score is a solid analysis of your mistakes during the practice sessions.
