I'm glad you were able to get an advanced copy of this one. I knew it would be a good one. Ego - Unhealthy belief in your own importance. The ego is always lurking in the dark either trying to make us feel that we are better or worse than the next person. That's its job but you can't kill it...just tame it. Aspire/Success/Failure Mastery is never going to end. There is no end and this is what the true masters have been trying to tell us since the beginning of time. There's always another level, another nuance, another angle and more depth. Make it so you don't need to fake it. Most of the world is backwards anyway so I'm surprised at this one. Who would have ever thought to become it so you wouldn't have to pretend like you were it? Euthymia - why do you do what you do? Stay true to your path. Do that one thing. Sweep - the dust is always accumulating. You knocked another one out of the park Brian. Keep Pushing.

Brian, thanks. I like this one. There are too many people out there far too concerned with what everyone else is doing, so yes this would definitely take them to a place where they compare themselves to others and therefore lose their focus on their own goals and their own life. Helen

Really props on the what it means to handle "ego" in the face of misperceptions. Im reminded of When I offered to help raise money for my fathers wife that had cancer, I was percieved as "hogging attention", for offering simple help to partner with the fundraising activities by reaching out to other donors on behalf of my dads wife

I was wondering if you had any insight into the opposite problem. I have been so off-put by arrogant and egotistical people growing up that I tend to go the other direction and think less of myself and not be confident in my talents or abilities. When I try to get in the head space of acknowledging things I do well and try to be proud of myself and confident it feels like I'm becoming the thing I dislike and I end up sliding right back into feeling unsure about myself. Do you have any suggestions on how I can handle this and find the right balance of confidence without egotism?

the 10k hours gets people to be a stand out above others, then on to the 20k hours is driven on by their vision that most other don't even see?

If you didn't have an ego, your id would dominate your choices and you'd have no fears...you'd jump off a cliff if you had the impulse to, thus the id is the enemy.
