I needed a pocket hole clamp, but the problem with clamps is that they slow down the work, so I came up with the quick release system idea.

I took a piece of aluminum 3/8 bar and cut 3.5 inches. Then I sanded the bar to be .010" smaller so it fits snug in to the pocket hole. Stuck it in to the pocket hole and used my 4 inch C-clamp with one swivel end to clamp it and joined piece of wood. Simple.

Great jig! Maybe a little block on end of nuts or a flat plate would keep nuts from marring edge of board?

Very cool idea! Pocket holes have their place, just like everything. I last used them to add drawers to my rolling work table. They were great for that!

Wow! now that is a cool jig. I really like how you made it, well thought out. To answer your question: I've never actually used pocket holes before. I don't really understand why people are so divisive about the topic. They seem like a decent way to attach two boards together to me!

Hi,, I loved the way you made your quick release vise. I remember your words from weeks ago, you did very well. I noticed the use of the center finder, cool, simple and adequate, anyone can find a center now. The way you combined those different facts lead you (again) to the building of the new jig, congrats. Because of my disability, I do have to buy a Kreg Foreman Pocket-Hole Machine. If I did not have that, I would certainly build your device. Schitterende deductie. Willy from Belgium, 🧠🧠🧠

I would consider adding a small thin flat washer in between the spring and the slot to keep the spring from deforming into the slot.

Thanks for thinking with me, I really appreciate that. I was thinking about the same when I build this jig but the smallest washer I had in my workshop was too big for this. I fixed it by making the slot were the nail goes true, a little smaller on the top. Thanks again for your feedback, I love having comments of people who think together with me. Greetings
