I just got 2 PO’s as a gift from a good friend, the PO-128 and the PO-133! I love your videos, but am COMPLETELY new to this! I just wanted to say THANKS for making these!
Thanks haha, I just wanted to make something that wasn't incredibly overstimulating or complicating for all the first timers out there. I hope it works!
Damn you! I just bought a Tonic and a KO...and I'm procrastinating learning...but since you made a video I'll watch it! ... and if you wanna make some more like this I'll watch those too!
Haha yes! The more you learn a more fun the pocket operators become, I promise! You'll have a blast and be making music in no time. Thanks for watching!
Hey man join the club, every PO that I've purchased sits around for a month or so. Lol Free Beat's tutorials have got me off my ass and helped me be "hands on" I have the Tonic as well, I even got bundle that came with the developers software...Free Beat rocks! Get going and have fun
this is fking addiction. I always liked music and played some instruments, but last august I stumbled across the OP1 and bit the bullet, then I just fell into this abyss addiction of buying audio stuff. Then the pocket operator, then the soundwich, I just snatched a stereo field now because I can't resist lol
@@FreeBeat Music is so fun. I have been playing guitar and piano all the time and I felt I hit a bottleneck. then after i got into 'composing' or at least that's what i think i'm doing, i feel like i'm opening up new possibilities. I never was really into the softwares, but these unique instruments really are fun to play with.
To clear a pattern, first make sure you're on the pattern you want to delete (hold pattern and press 1-16). To delete the current pattern, hold the function button (which is different on every pocket operator. In the case of the PO-133 it's the record button). While holding that button, press the pattern button and the current I selected pattern will be deleted. Hope that helps!
@@louisesmith1549 he has many pocket operator videos in his feed and most of the features are transferable. here is a great detailed video on the PO 33 which is essentially identical to the 133 aside for built in sounds and graphics. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PcBQY2jZ7sg.html
Thanks for the introduction, that was very handy. My PO-33 arrived today and I'm playing around. The one downer is that it seems really quiet, even with headphones. Is that normal?
When you hold down the BPM button, you can select a volume level between 1 and 16 by pressing the corresponding pad. One being the quietest, 16 being the loudest. Have fun!
Mmm this is a great idea/tutorial, I now you've done a lot of great PO tutorials. I'm thinking this could be a series of "getting started" type tutorials...I don't know of anyone who's done that. Anyway just a thought.
@@FreeBeat You are welcome, I know actually own all of them now, I did buy the the office, robot, arcade and factory at budget used prices. I almost look at them as little synth modules as far as the sounds go. Yes for sure get them all. Buy em' sell em' and trade em' with friends. Lol
Always learning something new from your videos despite owning these things for months. Consistently look forward to your vids every day! You should do a Paterson 👀👀👀
Hello! First off, a mighty big thank you. Love your enthusiasm on these lovely gadgets. Please consider a tutorial video on introducing PO’s into guitar pedals and have them plugged into guitar amps. I love the PO’s but want to get away from the DJ sound sometimes with out blowing anything up. Cheers
How do I make a new pattern on one of these? I push the pattern button and all the pattern spots are already filled with pre-loaded patterns. I’m learning the po-128 btw. Thanks!
Hi, I make music also. I have most of the pocket operator's (there's a couple i didn't buy, mostly because they don't interest me) reguardless,I do like the ones I've bought but I never really used them to create a track. The thing that threw me off was when syncing 2 or more po's, the levels of one might overpower the other which can throw the mix off. (For example - a lead type sound on robot being way too loud while arcade is playing a rythym. I have alot more professional gear than the pocket operator's,but I have a project idea that the pocket operator's fit ,so I plan to put in some practice with these po"s and I wanted to let you know that you're simple videos are consise & helpful . Thank you. P.s. - i recently started a RU-vid channel ,it's very slow going at this time , but i post some sounds there & i appreciate any subscriber's to the channel if you are interested. Take care.
Thank you so much for the kind words, and a good luck with your channel. my best advice is to never give up even if it feels like you aren't growing fast!
Most cases I see for these things dont have any button labels or icons on them. I imagine it's impossible to learn with a case? Sucks that you cant protect it until youre proficient with it.
I have the PO 133 and it literally just sits in standby mode until I pick it back up. The batteries are not drained either. Kinda weird.. considering the literal clock that I set up, I really reminds me of an alarm clock, physically. They don’t turn off unless you unplug em..
