Just because they didn't pay for the water resistant certificate (to bring the cost of the phone down), doesn't mean that they didn't add any water resistance to the phone. There is some but only in emergencies or tests like these are they meant for.

My poco f3 accidentaly drop in swimming pool (10 ft. deep) without my underwater case.. after 5mins i recover it underwater and i though my phone is gone.. but i cant explain the phone still working in good shape.. the screen, speakers, sim slot and even the charging slot still works..

It is not waterproof it has a low IP but to be submersible in 4 minutes it does not last but it is good to know that two minutes is enough to save the phone if it falls into water

For me, it is important I can use it on my handlebar bike for GPS purpose, even under the rain. But I don't know if an IP 53 rating is enough for continuous rain cycling. Btw an important role in waterproofing is played by a good case (e.g. Spigen Rugged Armor case), a good screen hybrid glass protector (e.g. Atfolix Hybrid glass), and a useful usb C charging port protective cap. These three accessories can improve waterproofness I think...

Not too much water, which means no pressure at all to enter the water on the little holes. But if the hole hits by rain drops. You will see, it's not water proof or if you drop on deeper water.

Obviously not fully waterproof, It literally has everything and clearly it can survive a decent amount of water damage, Its 350$ and you need IP68 to drop any phone into deeper water and this phone costs 300$ and a literal flagship grade CPU, Flagship grade Display, Amazing battery etc etc

@@xenomorf4836 i drop my phone in bucket of water for less than 30 sec and you know what ? it's dead (screen going green gradually) , i bring it to repair shop and they do complete dry and replace the screen and ... it's still green the final diagnose is they should replace the board which is more expensive than buying a new one

Hay que tener en cuenta que es diferente que se te cai bajo algo más profundo , y con más agua , si es agua dulce o salada , porfavor no lo intentes , pero si le suma puntos por si se te cae agua ensima por error 👍

that's correct. The difference in pressure(in different depths) might let the water seep in faster. And salt water isn't good for electronics. at least it's splash resistance. I even use it sometimes during light to medium rains when I need a ride and no place to cover nearby..

I won't get it near a pool or a deep water whole since pressure will kill it, your test doesn't put any pressure on the phone.

you shouldve removed the sim tray then lightly jiggle the phone till all the water gets out ., then bring it to the service center so they can open it to remove the battery, clean it with water removal solution,(its a light version of wd40 and contact cleaner spray) they are going to brush each and every contact point and hopefully the damage wasnt too much and the phone can be used again

you should have checked the sim slot because in other water test videos, this is where the water first enters in xiaomi phones. if it is moist, then it was about to damage your phone

It doesnt have an official IP rating but ive watch the launching of Mi 11x (poco f3) and Mi 11X pro (redmi k40 pro plus) in india. Theyve said both device shares the same identical body and theyve also stated it is rated IP53.

The phone working fine doesnt mean you still have full of warranty. If the paper inside phone touch water it turn red and your warranty is gone .

If you put it gently in the water then nothing happens, but if you drop it in a pool or in kitchen sink then... it way be problem within a few seconds. Shock will blow air bubbles -water gets inside ))

My poco f3 fell into the sink and got just a little wet, then the touch went crazy, after a while vertical green lines began to appear and then they multiplied. Now I have to buy a new cell phone.
