Your an asset to the kingdom of God Doc! Thank you so much for always sharing the great wisdom given to you by our God! Living testimony here, of someone who used to suffer from many seizures, & alcohol abuse. I'm so grateful to know I am who I think I am, not dependent on any circumstances: emotional/mental/physical etc, my identity lies peacefully in Christ. Thank you & God bless you all!

Now these 3 remain forever; faith, hope and love. The greatest one is love.. unselfish love for others will take the mind off myself... and hope of eternal life is very important. There's a hope that only a relationship with God can give you... that you trust He will come through cause you know He def can... since you know Him (God) and there's a love that ONLY God can give you. I couldn't love others until God's Love was poured in my heart through His Holy Spirit....

Hey Doc i just started reading you’re book think, learn and succeed. I’ve always struggled with my thinking process and there was always some situations that made it difficult for me to have hope and always dragging myself down with my drug abuse and love was also a big factor that also brought me down while incarcerated and releasing from prison my mindset changed from doing good in life to a complete 180 doing bad. Trying to fill the void that I have. And also since releasing I’ve noticed that I was tomb when it would come down to expressing my feelings with others even with family, those relationships that presented its self we’re good opportunities for me to expand in all aspects in my life but something changed even more I fell into depression, loneliness basically cutting myself off from the world until recently I was tired of always doing the same thing drug abuse alcohol spending time with the wrong environment, toxic people I wanted to make a change in me for the best, I first picked up your book 2 months ago and only read like half of the introduction and stopped reading it until 2 days ago that i decided to stop all the bs and excuses. I started reading more about your book and how the 5 step rule works, I started applying that yesterday giving my self to day dream about positivity like my future and if any toxic words or frases that I’m using to immediately recognize it and replace it with something positive…… so dr. Caroline I’m a glad that I took the first steps to reading your book again, I’m excited for this journey because in all my life, I have never felt so inspired motivated to learning new skills on how everything works inside of us, but also inspired to learn a hobby because since I can remember, I was never goal orientated nothing ever sparked my interest in a hobby but I’m glad that your also on RU-vid because I only have that 1 book but thank you Caroline for everything, you might not see it the way I do but you totally saved a life because I know that I’m meant for something good in this world ❤️

This podcast is exactly true about the vital need for community. For someone coming out of a long-term abusive marriage, that isolated me, and before that enduring an extremely dysfunctional family of origin, it is not helpful to say that we need someone else to acknowledge some value in us in order to create hope. Those people, that community, is non-existant for some people. What is needed is a way that an isolated person who has had their uselessness, unloveability, unacceptability as a human being constantly reinforced and every accomplishment constantly undermined by everyone around them, to be able to build themselves up completely on their own, against this constant opposition, without any community support.

So, what to do when there is no community. Amazingly, it happened to me. I was Ms community. And then one day became ill with a chronic disease, everybody disappeared in my life, slowly but surely. I can't do social life anymore, so tired and exhausted always. I need to work, which requires almost all my energy. Not only that, but I have no family. So many days hope is so far away, away in a different world with the company of emptiness and solitude. It must be more people like me with my circumstances in the world, I presume. Examples are always for people with supposedly "normal life", but there is nothing like normal because life is something organic, not robotic. Finding answers for people in different circumstances is such a quest, though. I hope you can answer, mainly because that would give some hope. Thank you so much.

I have MS, have found myself in a similar situation to yourself, where the disease makes doing anything outside of work impossible; I simply have no energy left to enjoy life.

Yes there are other people like you. Since I was diagnosed with an auto-immune condition, in 2009, life has been a challenge that I’ve never really bounced back properly. Takes a lot of my energy to do the basics that it’s so tiring to do enjoyable things. I do like walking though, but need regular sustenance. It’s tiring to get all that in day by day, week by week, when I need a full day in bed to recover if I’ve been busy, busy with just the basics too! Ugh. But I have found that looking into functional Medicine, things like Dr Leaf mentions to handle my brain body connection, getting fresh air, sunshine, vitamin D, adaptogens (for stress fatigue, adrenal fatigue), making sure I’m getting trace minerals regularly in my diet, water, keeping hydrated, it does help, adequate rest too, doing things that are pleasant, restoring I’ve found incorporating all these aspects into my lifestyle gradually gave me energy, but I’m in a slump now cos of life’s curveballs and now I have to recover all over again. Ugh. But yeah, those things helped me gain more strength, endurance, resilience, over time though. But I’m still not able to function like ‘normal’ people. You’re not alone. I’ve heard that here in UK, churches are bracing themselves for a loneliness pandemic after the lockdowns. Lots of people report feeling very lonely and how the lockdowns have affected them. I’m sure there are more people that feel, like you do, not many people seem to talk about it. Hope things get better for you, lots of blessings 🌸

I am chronically ill. Just doing the basics of self-care takes ALL my energy. It is depressing. My friends have abandoned me also. There needs to be a chronic illness group to socialize in and lift each other up. I'm going thru heavy metal detox, which is supposed to help my energy levels. Functional and preventive medicine have helped a lot.

The farmer and cow story is all very nice, but due to my very moderate stances on covid and politics I no longer have a community. I consider this the ultimate blessing, for we enter this world alone and we leave it alone, and if you have never faced these facts you never really know what it means to be alive. My community is the trees that put oxygen in the air and the clouds that bring me water, and the farmers who grow the food that I eat.

We are all so perfectly imperfect. What a Blessing to know that we are all valued with potential to affect, love & support not only the suffering of ourselves but that of others. Self-Compassion, Hope & Love are great messages. Thank You for placing a stone in our path during a war, potential recession, impoverished children, adults without food, without dental care & a virus that won't relent. Now let's all go out be a living testimony of Hope. Our thoughts, our words, our actions, our habits, our character & our destiny all begin with Thinking, Feeling & Choosing. I pray the whole world knows that everyone is equal & loved. Loves, Veronica Bruce MSN RN.

I remember when my brother suffered from symptoms of depression by 19 years old. His way of thinking would basically we are all going to die one day, so there is just no point to life. His hope was lost, (your wise words have hit the nail on the head regarding "hope") I would try to speak to him and help him through it but nothing seemed to help. He was someone that did not believe in God, and then one day my parents heard him crying from the top of his lungs, they ran into his room, and found him in tears with a bible open. From that day forward he was restored, no more symptoms of depression. He is now a follower of Jesus and says that he was touched by the holy spirit. I've recently had anxiety symptoms (hence why I listen to your videos) I must say, you have completely changed my life these last few weeks. I've always believe in the power of thoughts and feelings. I've lived a very positive and happy life over the years, by being aware of my thoughts. However, once I had my first child, I became very scared of life etc... my thoughts began to spiral out of control and my health started declining, I started listening to your videos and something just clicked. I needed to hear words of wisdom, I listen to you on repeat each day, I must say, my chronic neck pain that has been there for 2 years is 80% gone. All because of the positive change in my thoughts. I also have recorded my voice and listen to positive affirmations about myself whilst I sleep. I need my sub conscious mind to start believing every word again.

What do you do when you don’t have the deep meaning community? Haven’t had that in a long time. Now that I’m coming out of chronic health issues rendering my mind retraining my brain, learning to set boundaries I still don’t have that community. I mean, close knit with a few people. That’s lacked in my life for so many years. And moving to Arizona 3 years ago, I thought I had made a few close friends but post pandemic, nope! It’s so hard to make new meaningful relationships. I turn 60 in 2 days and have no close friend nor family (my children and grandchildren) to celebrate it with. My family back in NC. It’s so hard! I’m celebrating a milestone, yet facing financial hardships. Jesus is my hope for sure, it’s hard! I’m fighting that old negative way of thinking 🙏🏻 and came across this video 😊

You speak of hope... that's the very thing I don't have. How can we in this world? This world is falling apart and i fear the coming next wave of evil to come down from the elites regarding this covid deception. (yes it's a real virus, but the panic and totalitarian mandates are evil). It's not going to end. Ever. This was their plan all along, and anyone who doesn't see that, sadly, is deluded. But that is giving me the most severe anxiety and hopelessness for our future.
