I make a separate culture called Lactic Acid Bacteria Serum(LABS), I put in about 8 ml in my cup of Kombucha to increase its benefits

I appreciate your dedication in sharing such valuable information. I’m just learning, and your insight has been so helpful and encouraging. I started making kefir and sharing the grains with family and friends hoping to share the gift of health.

In the beginning usually best to start slowly as they can cause a detox (which isn't bad) but can be not so fun at first. But here is a blog on what i do: www.culturedfoodlife.com/how-many-cultured-foods-do-i-eat-in-a-day/

My niece suffers from severe acid reflux. She is now pregnant and has more issues with the addition of morning sickness. On the bottles of Kombucha, it specifies to talk to a doctor before consuming, if pregnant. Can you tell us what might be a problem, or an issue with her trying Kombucha? Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experiences with us.

Hi Sherry , If she was consuming kombucha before than its usually still fine to consume. But sometimes its best not to try new cultured foods when pregnant as the detoxing process is not fun and can be more intense. But I do have an article on Acid reflux: (kefir works best) www.culturedfoodlife.com/is-kefir-the-answer-for-acid-reflux/

I have to say that woman don't have hot flashes because they are flushing out excess hormones, it's due to lack of estrogen. I love kombucha and your site but have to be careful what you tell women. 😊

Is it safe to say that only the combination of consuming kombucha and kefir helps with all kinds of problems? Because listening to different podcasts it sounds like if you leave kombucha out, you break down, and if you leave kefir out, you break down.

Hi Donna. Since you’re so knowledgeable, I would like to ask you a question. One of my friends would like to drink kefir for all its benefits but is afraid to bc she found that fermented foods, like kefir , can trigger her migraines. She found that fermented foods have Tyramine, which is a substance found naturally in some foods. It's especially found in aged and fermented foods. Do you know anything about that? If you do, would you make a video? I researched about kefir and migraines but didn’t find anything.

Hi Maggie, I haven't done research on this, but i do know that most issues like these (oxalates, histamines etc) come from a imbalance in the gut and a misunderstanding. Cultured foods like kefir and kombucha (etc) are different than things like ketchup, wine, canned foods, hard cheese etc that have all been fermented but contain no active probiotics. So cultured foods are very different. She can always send us an email at support@culturedfoodlife.com as well to chat.

I had this problem before and taking the homeopathic remedy called Histaminum 30C twice daily for a few weeks helped it go away. Have her check with a Homeopath if she’s unsure about using it. They’re great 😊

How does that not destroy your teeth? I can't drink too much kombucha, very acidic.

I just drink a little glass then rinse my mouth right away, the same with coffee or orange juice. Also, wait about 20-30 minutes before brushing your teeth after acidic drinks or food

If you are fermenting it properly it wont be overly acidic and can be alkalizing to the body once digested as well. If the kombucha is fermented too long it will turn to vinegar but you shouldn't be letting it go that long.
