Another of the fab musicians that once hailed from Jacksonville, Florida. Great performance here, and I especially appreciate his humility and sincere appreciation of the audience and the musicians. And God bless you right back, Mr. T ... Jesus is coming soon to get us.
What a beautiful and superbly perfect incredible performance. He still looks and sounds great. His superb voice has something special, warm and cosy feel. The backing singers sounded like angels and looked like them too. The backing band were excellent. What a nice guy. Could listen to him all day. Thank you for a magical performance, that will stay and be in my heart forever.
One fabulous artiste who sounds as good as ever.First saw him in concert back in 1962 and had a long chat with him after the show.Rog. Pacific sunset records.
Great performance! I recall that many songs from the 1950s had women sing like this, Santa Catalina, Since I don't have you, Many Paul Anka songs, Even Marina song from 1964 Marination Stingray! Such a Great era.
Wonderful! Johnny keeps his tone voice identical to his records. The backing band members are awesome. "Poetry in Motion" is one of my favorite oldies ever.
Johnny was a classmate in Palatka Florida. We graduated in 1955. I remember Johnny sitting on the doorsteps of his Grandmother's house with his guitar singing his heart out. It looks like it paid off. Look at him now, a well-known singer and songwriter. Johnny was shy in school and the girls loved to tease him, but when he picked up that Guitar and started to sing, he was Johnny Tillotson. Nothing shy about him.
Fun video! Wonderful band and vocal backups.the blonde on left seems to be in many numbers. She did the soprano voice for the Tokens. Simply flawless singer.
This i a classic song and a grt live performance Johnnys voice right on and the backup girls on point the orchestra on another level a perfect balance of sound sight and class describes this music performance of a legend rock and roller from a time wgen music was music grt job all around
My band, "The Continentals", backed up Johnny in Bradenton, Fl in 1961, shortly after this song was released. During that time, many of the artists did not have their own traveling bands. Instead, they hired local bands and just rehearsed with them a few hours before the show. Of the many artists that our band backed up, I can honestly say that Johnny was the nicest and friendliest.
Born in1938 - still has a great voice. He was a one of the teen idols of the 1950s! Another of his hits was 'Earth Angel'! He sang the theme song for Sally Field's 1965 TV show 'Gidget.' Had a long career. In the 1990s, Tillotson recorded several Christmas songs with Freddy Cannon and Brian Hyland for the Children's Miracle Network.
Worked with Johnny T a few times at Little Darlin’s Rock and Roll Palace in Kissimmee, Florida. A real gentleman. Did anyone ever correctly identify the amazing opera singer do back up vocals?
He was the first international act at Rumours Toowoomba Qld Australia and my Mum her best friend and I went to see him. That was 40 years ago and he still sounds the same.
Merci pour ce partage en live J'adore cette chanson que j'écoute régulièrement Elle est magnifique La voix de Johnny Tillotson est superbe À écouter sans modération
This song was released in 1961, when I was born. I read he is in his early 80s, is this him in his 80s?? Wow, great singer! I've heard this song as a kid, lol. Sadly, I'm no longer a kid, lol, wink.
How brilliant to be able to see Johnny Tillotson - I hadn't seen a film of him before. I bought his record in 1960 in the UK. Wish I had his 'Barnet' - he is looking well. Regards from Blighty :).
Johnny can certainly sing this song and this is the 1st time I’ve heard a live version of this song. Since the brunette girl could definitely sing a high falsetto part this particular song was “Knocked Out Of The Ballpark. This is certainly good music 🎵 and Johnny Tilliston …Rocked The House Down!!!
Estos tiempos no pasaron en vano y por supuesto estas canciones tampoco; hoy después de tantos años las escucho y las emociones de aquel entonces vuelven a nuestra memoria, aquellos tiempos no se olvidan jamás.
@@merylew4969 You are correct, the original female singer with the Skyliners was Janet Vogel, who passed away in 1980 age 37, she was replaced Cathy Cooper.
