I love Dance Academy! I've watched the series at least 3 times. It's the rare ballet series where the students dance a lot in both class and performances. And Miss Raine is soooo good.

I know and Tara and the boy I ship her with had givin me one of the biggest emotional roller coasters out of all shows I watch (other than miraculous ladybug) cause like some do give me them but this gives me a big one also what is a place I can watch this on other than RU-vid cause I can only find some of the full episodes on here cause some of them are were RU-vid won't let me see it

I watched this whole series it has a lot of ups and downs and it deals with everything from body dysmorphia and eating disorders to being confused about your sexuality dealing with injuries and dealing with death. It’s a pretty serious serious as it goes on

For clarification, at the beginning, she wasn’t not approved for pointe. Her old studio had put her on pointe, but her new teacher doesn’t think she’s ready.

@@Boxofcare666 In the video, they said that she was pulled off pointe because she had no training. That's what Leila is correcting because she DID have training en pointe, but the new teacher didn't think she was ready. So, yeah, while it was brought up in the video it was brought up incorrectly.

PLEASE watch more Dance Academy! I adore this show. Lots of cheesy teen drama, but the dance stuff is so good. I want to see you react to Tara and Saskia's storyline... as well as Tara's Red Shoes performance/storyline. But it's worth doing the full watch b/c you end up caring about the characters SO MUCH that it hits really hard when the dramatic/serious stuff happens.

This 40-something, 'never-even-touched-a-real-pointe-shoe' Canadian, has shamelessly watched the entire Dance Acedemy series (plus movie) at least three times. Nice balance of teen angst, silly fluff, and deep drama that tears your heart out.

In regards to that first scene you reacted to; Sammy (the guy being made fun of) was instructed by the teacher to start wearing pointe shoes to do exercises and footwork in them regularly because he was told that he needed to work on strengthening his ankles and articulating his feet more, since they were not strong as the other students in his classes. All of those guys in the locker room are ballet dancers as well, but they didn't need to dance in pointe shoes, that's why they were making fun of Sammy by calling him "Twinkle Toes".

I saw this show YEARS ago and as long as you know it's made for TV it's pretty enjoyable! Another one you might find funny is "Meet Me In Paris". Dance Academy did highlight some good points in the show, how dangerous it can be, the importance of eating right, only dancing something your body is physically ready for, and the consequences of not.

I loooove Dance Academy, even though I’ve never done ballet properly, I’ve been in love with it my whole life, and this show made me love it even more. I’ve watched it at least 6 times. I do believe Josephine should watch it, it’s not the same watching a clip that watching the whole show since the beginning. You definitely should watch it. This is the best dancing series in history!

I love Dance Academy! It inspired me to start ballet as an adult actually. Abigail is absolutely insufferable in the early seasons but by the end of the show she was my favorite character! Please watch more ^^

MY two daughter's adored this show and as adults I know they still have a binge watch every now and then. One of my girls became obsessed about being to heavy when she was very light and I was glad when this show started to address some serious issues.

"we've all done this variation at one point or another" so true. I did it when I was seven as my first variation and it was terrible because then I was in a competition studio not classical ballet. I was the only one who did a ballet solo that year.

I LOVE this show as a 26 year old non-dancer. Haha! It’s a little dramatic but I really love watching the dancing and you do kinda fall in love with the characters and root for them at different points. AND the movie sequel they made is honestly really good too.

I think it's an Australian show about a stage school. It reminds me of the Canadian show "The next step"! So sweet and funny from Josephine...starts off with a little criticism but then gets sucked into the drama and starts to empathise with the characters! It's so cute. Thanks Josephine-you always DELIVER! Xxx

Dance Academy is a show about a dance academy - primarily ballet but they do take some other dance classes too, they are full time students (so traditional school is onsite too) and the main characters anyway live in a boarding house together that is near the studio. It is kind of a full circle that the person who plays Miss Raine was the newcomer/ugly duckling character in the movie Strictly Ballroom

I *highly* recommend this show! I have watched it front to back more times than I can count. It's my ultimate comfort show. And although it's technically a kids show and has some questionable acting at times, it really does a phenomenal job of touching on so many important real-world issues in ballet. Plus, a ballet show with actors who are actually ballet-trained?! Amazing.

I loooooove Dance Academy!!! I have watched the whole show multiple times, but I also dread rewatching it every time, because I know what's coming and it messes me up every single time. But it is really well made! Dance Academy is actually what gave me the last push to start ballet as a late teen! I was always practising at home and took a few lessons, but sth always got in between, so I haven't had much formal training :( I had dreamt of going en pointe, but I'm not sure that will ever happen. I really want to watch it again, but I'm afraid :D But please, do watch it if you have time and can cope with drama. Despite all that, it's a pretty fun show and I'd love to see more reacts!

If you get into taking lessons properly you can, I know someone who only started ballet as an adult and after a year or 2 (not sure of the exact timeframe) her teacher decided that she was ready to go en pointe

@@amandamandamands Thanks, I read the same somewhere :) I had been really dedicated, but then I got a few small injuries and started university and then it just slipped :( Now I finally got into dance again, but only choreographies with ballet elements :)

I was never a dancer but ADORE Dance Academy right to this day as an adult 😅 it brought me the saddest scene I probably ever encountered in a tv series and to this day also, I cry like a baby everytime I see it 🙈 people who know it, please don't spoil for others! Everyone has to watch it!

I can't say how much I love this show! I've seen it at least three times plus the movies. I always wanted to dance ballet, but I was not gifted with grace LOL. I've recommended this show to many kids because it does such a great job of handling many of the issues faced by teens.

You 100 percent need to watch this. The show is beautiful. Ups and downs, some over dramatization of things but you love the characters and 100 percent will cry every time at a certain point in the show.

The mean teacher in this is Tara Morice from Strictly Ballroom! I saw Dance Academy way before seeing Strictly Ballroom so as soon as I saw her in the film I was like "that's the teacher from Dance Academy!" I never knew she could actually dance until I saw the film 😂

I LOVE The Dance Academy😍😍 Ir also helped me get through some hard times during quarantine. But it does go through some ups and downs. It was also some what relatable as a dancer when you are trying to find your identity and place in the world. To end on a good note 10/10 would recommend!

Yes I watched it ages ago. Love the Australian accents and cute teen drama with a bunch of dancing. So fun. I just watched this show called Find Me in Paris that sort of reminded me of Dance Academy except with time travelers. Especially because they have a recurring theme that the ballet dancers also do hip hop on the side.

Dance Academy is and will remain the best show about "ballet school" ever. It got everything right. It's one of those rare shows you can watch as a dancer and not cringe, because it's super true to life and actually not that dramatised (except of course for plot reasons). The characters are all well rounded, they progress and they have a lot of layers. Even if it's marketed as a kids show, it's still incredibly watchable for older and adult audiences. It actually deals with some pretty serious themes. I wouldn't mind seeing more of you reacting to it! For context, this scene is from only the second episode, so the stereotypical mean girl is still very much presented as that, but we quickly get more nuance to her character.
