To me the point of the index seems to be to let you use noise marines and lucius in this limbo period before they get their codex. World Eaters went through the same process. Fingers crossed the codex will be more like a Death Guard style release with a lot of units, rather than one more like the World Eaters book which took away more units than it added.
Yer fingers crossed 🤞 it is just an interim release to cross the t's and dot the lowercase j's 😊 I just feel they could have added a faction benefit as well, wouldn't have broken then game !
I imagine it'll be middle of 2025 now so parking my excitement for a bit. The csm codex is great so will enjoy playing that, I'm loving the daemon engine detachment 😁
The point is to keep the models playable until the codex release. Everyone and their grandma knows the EC release is coming. The index is the placeholder to keep the models available for anyone who wants to play them before the release.
That would be cool but they haven't just released datasheets, they released negatives to playing EC so effectively Lucius won't see play, also no one can lead Noise Marines. I'd prefer it was plain datasheets as the stop gab. Anyway excited for the codex, I'll be all over it lol
3rd edition: You must ask permission to use special characters. Later editions: feel free to use as many special characters as you like, regardless of how lore-breaking it is. 10th edition EC: You MUST use a special character whether you like it or not. Thank you GW for reminding us how bad your rules team is now.
🙁 I probably got too excited when the index dropped amd should have known its not the codex and model range release... just I've been after a 40k EC army for a while now
I genuinely do not understand these takes. GW literally said, we will return them just so they can be fielded as if they were still part of CSM codex. Im all for shittin on stupid GW decision but this is just silly.
They haven't just released the datasheets for usage they've also created a legion rule which is rubbish, so you can't take Lucius now essentially.. anyway it's just interesting commentary from someone very excited for the full codex
As a fighting force yer they are a shadow of what they were... I do like the lore and daemonic elements though lol what does that say about me 🙈 although my favourite god is nurgle lol
@@SimplyWarhammer I say this because Nurgle and Khorne are nice and straightforward, no strings attached. Khorne has a gym and gators, nurgle has plague gators, win for me
